Interesting.....Tommy Estes told me years ago that more HP can be made with an open head and the gaskets. Also, if it is true that the NSL with roll up Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas into one "region", that region will be doomed. Everone knows that about 3 cars leave Arkansas and Kansas to run the surrounding states. I see this playing out much the same way that the WoO/NST deal did. ASCS has deep roots with a lot of tracks that have been loyal over a lot of years. They will both survive but if the NSL pulls some things like they did last week between Husets and Sedalia (except on a tighter regional level)? It will only hurt the tracks. I want to see who comes out with their schedule first, then watch the turf war begin.

ASCS used to have a good thing going, but it's been going downhill for the last several years. It sucks for those of us in Texas that don't care for 305s or that don't want to sit through eight classes to see ASCS. Devils Bowl has been loyal and I'm sure will continue to be. I guess we will see how things happen. Maybe things will work out better in the long run and I won't have to leave the state to see a decent show.

One was a 360 race the other was a 410 race 7 hours apart why can't those run on the same day
Could not have had a much larger crowd in Sedalia and a heck of a race so tell me how they hurt the crowd

Like iron blocks only as iron blocks will sell cheep from ASCS teams. The intake gasket did not fail, its that the non legal ported ASCS heads were better. The ASCS heads did not have to use gaskets, just any other head even steel heads.

it sounds to me like they want to run a special gasket in all heads. Makes me wonder if you will have to buy them from them.

I would rather buy a couple sets of legal intake gaskets from whoever than buy a couple sets of legal heads.

Aluminum Blocks? you act as if that is a surprise, there have been teams that are running them now and not getting caught. they are simply having them zinc dipped & coated so a magnet can stick.

It would be awesome if they could make the older heads that haven't been hogged out to the new "rules" run nearly as good as the new stuff. There's a lot of motors sitting around with those on them. They also need to find an accurate way to check cubic inch size and DO it often.

Yes. This could make it interesting at Knoxville. They have the ASCS rules 360 nationals. This race is making money for the track since it is part of Speed Week. The attendence has been very good the last few years. If NSL takes over 360 racing in this area of country, will it be the NSL 360 nationals? I can now see these big time racers having a NSL 360 engine and a ASCS 360 engine. This will be an interesting fall and winter.

Sprint Car sanctioning kind of reminds me of the flavor of the week. A few years ago ASCS was going to put the Outlaws out of business. Now from what I'm seeing here they're old news. Not taking sides on any of this, just rolling my eyes at our fickle shift in loyalties whenever the wind changes direction.

Eddie threw his cubic inch tools away when he found out they could fit a big block in a sprint car. He don't even give those small valve covered things a second glance. more interested in their front wing placement. last seen searching for a hemi

Why run a restrictor gasket instead of restrictors on the injection stacks? Do you honestly think that all of the Knoxville (or other tracks/region) 360s are going to be happy about having to pull the injection every time they switch from the NSL to the ASCS? And with the gaskets, does that mean you can take an open headed 360 to a NSL event?

To late Fred, I called this crap 8 years ago and got ragged for it. As of now they are all legal..lol and when the great PR for The ASBS calls Schatz out I say he should be let go before he swallows....

The gaskets did not fail. The ASCS regions only gave a 1year grace period to use them before you had to switch to the ASCS head. Which of course then they allowed you to alter sending them out of control. And from everyone i have talked to the aluminum block is the worst kept secret going into next year with ASCS.. Sounds like a done deal.. Hopefully the NSL does something to reel in the motor expenses! It is way long overdue..
