The engines have almost nothing to do with the demise of the ASCS , the root cause is the tires, put these cars back on the bricks (McCrearys) that they ran in the mid to late 90's, that was the ASCS equalizer, then Hanh got more $$$$$ from hoosier to pad his boxer shorts, that is when it began to fall, motors, wings, money......... you all dont get it....... put them on a tire that cant hold the other intagibles, let the driver do the work.... thats what we all want to see????

So how many HP are the aluminum blocks going to add?  They cost a lot, I hope it is a big gain over steel.....

It matters little whether it was tires or motors or both, nor does it matter whether I "get it" or not.    What I do "get" is that ASCS is going down the tubes and in recent years it has changed into something I don't want to pay to go see any more.   A few years ago it was the only thing I'd pay to see in the D/FW area.     If the NSL can change that I'm all for it.

Friend, i hate to tell you, but in the DFW area you will only read about the NSL.

And just to be fair, I'd like to hear from the ASCS, just to see where they are at. What direction they intend on going, what they feel is on the horizon for the ASCS.

+1  What he said.

Years ago we proved this by regularly out running 410's with an ASCS LEGAL motor.  The track we raced at had an open sprint car class with restrictions on the 410's - spec RR and no wickerbill on top wings.  360's could run open RR and up to 1" wickerbill.  This track regularly went dry slick and we preferred our 360 on open RR to our 410 on spec RR.

I agree - put the cars back on Spec RR bricks and let the drivers and good setup win races again.
