Wish I had a time machine & could watch those races live, thanks!

Does anyone know if there are videos somewhere of old Nationals?

Very cool!! More please!! I think that's what has kept sprint car racing so popular over the years, cars still for the most part look like they did way back then!! Thanks for sharing!!

Your post touched a nerve with me.....It's one thing to be going down the road today and pass a team hauler.....knowing the contents of that huge monster........but it was even more exciting years ago to be heading for the races and pass an open trailor with a sprint car perched on it and several sets of tires mounted overhead. Ahhhh the memories! Everytime I pass or meet a big rig hauling a sprint car, my mind's eye triggers a vision from those days, and those simple trailers with a sprint car rear end bouncing up and down on the back.

I don't see a minority in a single pic here.  This place really IS out of control.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Anyway... I love the Marge Simpson hairdo on the chick in the red 33 picture.

I'm curious about all the white pants and white shirts in the pits back in the days.  Was everyone not extremely dirty at the end of the night?  How often did you have to buy new attire for race day?  I'm guessing everyone just bleached the hell out of everything?

Also, who started the trend of rebeling away from not wearing white everything back then?  What happened when the first pit guy got out of the truck and decided he was going to wear shorts and tennis shoes?

Just bored at work and wondering!

Awesome pics, man. Cool.

Made my first trip out to Knoxville this year and had a blast. Its neat to see how much the stands and stuff have changed since then.
