Not that I wasn't 99.9% fed up with it before, but I am officially done with NASCAR. Not going to whine about a caution for a water bottle, though I could,  but how does someone miss that many races and still win a championship?  A complete,  total joke of a form of motorsports and sanctioning body. I'm done.

The gong show that is NASCAR has basically self destructed by alienating fans. I haven't bothered watching an entire race in years. To pay my hard earned money for tickets, accommodations and transportation for a weekend at a NASCAR race will probably never happen again. The last time for me was the spring of 2008 in Texas. I remember leaving Saturday afternoon halfway through the Nationwide race to drive to a dirt track to watch sprint cars.

And next year you will be on here again complaining about NASCAR and how you will never watch it again.  I assume you are a Larson fan, so you will watch it.  There is a simple how you finish in a race point system that will explain how you can miss several races and still be in top 12.  You just have to finish in top 5 almost every race.  I to would rather go to a sprint car race or see one on TV but there were none.

Wow, a great race for the win between Larson and Kez ready to happen, and Nascar stole it from us.  They couldn't leave well enough alone with how well that last 10 laps was shaping up for the fans.   The championship battle was doing just fine on its own.  Instead they use a phony debris caution hoping to fabricate a last restart battle/ crash fest ending for the championship.  I felt empty and dissapointed at the checkerd flag.   Everyone I have talked to would have been happier with the race finishing without that bogus yellow.  Good for Kyle, he won by the manipulated rules.  This will be another moment that can be pointed to when we talk about the further demise of Nascar in the coming years.

I did like Knaus having the jack man bend the quarter panel on the pit stop.  That was the best part of the whole race other than watching Larson against the wall.

Nascar has become the greatest over HYPED joke in racing. Homestead is this the best nascar has to offer. t I have taken       a poop that  has had more excicmemt than watching 267 laps of non stop boredum. Had enough!                                                                                                                                                                                                            i

That manipulation desrves to be complained about.   Since we are on Hoseheads sprint car news, I would expect many if not most posters to be a Larson fan or at least interested that a sprint car and midget guy who was running with us on dirt tracks what seemes like yesterday was about to win a Nascar race live on NBC.

Kyle B did not get in by a simple point system and finishing in the top 5, etc.  He missed 11 races, not a couple.    They made an exemption for him this year to get in the chase as long as he got in the top 30 with a win.  Their rules originally stated you also had to run every race in the series.  I am fine with all that, but that debris caution was embarrasing for the sport, as many people and news people judge racing in general by Nascar.

For all the fans saying they are done with nascar, how about this.... no matter how much you hate nascar, turn it to the race and just leave the tv on in the background.  Or DVR it... either way keep supporting nascar in some way because it employees so many people and when those rigs leave the shop, almost every employee hauls ass home to work in their local race car.  All I ask is that you turn one tv on in your home and mute it!

BMclain21 your the problem with racing.  STOP WATCHING ALL nascar shows, races, ect period!  You and the many who think that sprint cars can't live without Stewart, Kahne, or Larson your seriously wrong.  In fact we'd be better off with their in-direct way of raising the cost bar for all the rest of the teams through them buying the best and most expensive parts and equipment.  Seriously,  the only way to send the message to nascar with it's over governed, over officiated and become a microcosm of our bloated corrupt goverment is to stop participating in any way with it and its partners.  RULES, RULES, RULES and lots of P.C. and oh of coarse their favorites are on the top always.  Times we put our foot down with this crappy racing fraternity (nascar) and hurt them in the pocket.  Sprint Cars will be here regardless of nascar's existence, always have, always will. Stop begging for crumbs when you can have the whole cake.

They manufactured an ending that did feel like an empty stomach and just fake.  What an embarrassment and joke NASCAR is.

If they want to have this chase format to create interest but really not have a year long season champion fine, but that water bottle deal....really?

A water bottle caution, really? Yes, here's why...

The race ran late, into Sunday Night Football time. There is no doubt the Nascar social media (SM) nerds were watching SM and seeing it light up because all the football heads tuned in and saw cars going around a track.... ahhh, an oportunity.

MILLIONS of eyes who could care less about cars, how do you get them to watch again? Pack the cars up and hope testosterone flows.

Unfortunately, because of the events of the last 4 weeks, NO BODY wanted to get out of line, all the drivers had low T (especially the 10 wink), so you had a dismal finish AND the dirt fans are pissed because Larson was going to get his first win, if the machine didn't throw a phantom yellow. There was going to be a better finish without the yellow!

NASCAR was the big looser here, but they are too dumb to realize it.

By the way, NBC got huge street cred for not caving and flipping the NASCAR finish over to NBCSN @ 7 PM. 10 years ago, when NBC had NASCAR, they would have done that in a heart beat, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

What they really wanted was a Jeff Gordon win.I agree with Kyle Larson having his first win chances taken away by a caution. If Jeff would have won I would have wondered but Kyle Busch although not having open wheel background is deserving.Nascar even though it has lost some ground is still everywhere and from practice to qualifing and the races are boring until the last 25 laps but if you dont like it there always reuns of the Family Fued.

And on a positive note, some smaller tracks are getting improved seating.

NASCAR wanted Toyota to win and Kyle Busch just happens to drive a Toyota..

Okay---now I'm confused.  Did NASCAR throw a phony debris caution, or did NASCAR want a Toyota to win?  They don't go hand in hand.  A Phony debris caution throws the Chevy of Harvick back in the mix thus creating a more plausible scenario for the Toyota to lose.  ???

I was dissapointed at the fact that Larson did not have a chance to pass the 2 for the win-and it was going to happen.  I believe debris cautions for water bottles have happened in the past-even in the middle of the race.  Someone in one of the cars wanted a caution-happens all of the time.  Driver should be suspended for 2 races-would eliminate the problem.

NASCAR loved the fact that someone did throw out the bottle-don't get me wrong.  The drama didn't really play out any differently though-except Larson was going to win.  Larson and Larson fans should be upset with whoever threw out the bottle-not NASCAR.  NASCAR has a lot of other faults--the points system is the big one for me!

Some people are funny.  They see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear.

First off - NBC showed the water bottle that was sitting in the yellow part of the front stretch, then came back after commercial and clearly showed a piece of metal on the front straight away, which was the cause for the caution.

Second - Larson was catching the 2, but catching him and passing him are two different things.  If you are a race fan, you know that.  People talking like NASCAR screwed Larson out of his first win is ridiculous.

Third - the Chase is fine.  Who cares.  I've never seen people get so upset about something that they claim they don't care about at all.  It's funny actually.

Fourth - Busch won the championship, fair and square.  He missed 11 races, so what.  He won by the rules that are currently set forth.  There is no asterick and I'm sure his check won't be any smaller.

I haven't watched an entire NASCAR race in years, but still follow the sport.  I'll probably pay closer attention next year than I have recently to see how Ryan Blaney does.  No matter what you feel about it, it's still racing on TV.  It's better than soccer.

BMcLain21 - you aren't what's wrong with the sport.  People like Rotorglow are.  Your point is that guys that work for NASCAR teams bust their tails during the week at work then go home to work on their emod, or late model, or sprint car on a free weekend.  Without their jobs with those NASCAR teams, they might not be able to afford to keep racing on their own.  We aren't talking about the Tony Stewart's of the world.  We are talking about John Q jackman who loves racing and does anything he can to be a part of it.  Keep up the good work and positive posts.
