I don't even know what to say. It's obvious he's ambitious....which is a good thing but I don't know how the hell all of this is gonna tie in to the Dirt track. The Dirt track/concert venue I thought might be a good idea if done properly. Many Dirt tracks have hosted concerts before so I can see the connection there. I'm not sure about all the other shit though. Something tells me the racetrack is gonna end up finishing last in this deal. I guess we'll just wait and see how this all goes. I do know one thing for sure, I'm glad at the this point that we don't have any Chuck Brennan types in Central Pa. Who knows though, he might end up being the next great thing in sprint car racing. It's been done before but in my mind this is altogether different than anything we've seen and for you fans out there, I hope it's a good thing.

This is pulled right off of the homepage.  If you are trying to buy support for the sprint car deal, the least you could do is have a marketing team that has an ounce of sprint car knowledge.

  • "See a full sized, 410 horsepower, Outlaw Sprint Car, live on the floor and get your photo taken inside of the racecar."

Seriously...  410 horsepower, Outlaw Sprint Car

Come on man!

Good grief! A couple more words come to mind, Sleazy, and Cheesy.

This guy can probably throw a hell of a party but please, please don't let him DJ.

I have to laugh I've been on the NMRA forum telling how Chuck at Badlands is actually costing the 410 teams money by racing against Knoxville on Sat. instead of racing on Sun. night and giving them a chance to run on 3 nights in a weekend. But I've basically been told I don't know what I am talking about by so-called Sprint car fans who think that He'll get more cars from Grand Forks, ND on Sat. night than he would Knoxville cars on Sun. night. But whenever Jackson has had a 410 show on Sat. night in the past or other tracks in MN or the Dakota's have had 410 shows or outlaw shows I have never seen any of the Grand Forks cars support any of those shows. I don't know how they would come down to Badlands on Sat. next year. I don't know how old some of these fans are but I am 59 years old and been going to Sprint car races since I was 5 (back then it was modifieds) So I do have an idea of what I am talking about. I do know there are some people up here that give Badlands 2 years and it will be closed because Chuck doesn't have a clue of what he is doing, and he wants an outdoor concert arena. My personal opinion if he makes it through 2016 we'll be lucky. For Sprint car racing let's hope I am wrong.  Glen

Half of the people here with their hypocritical outrage or their family members will be at Walmart on Thanksgiving day.

I have my doubts that he has a single contract signed  for 2016(concerts, monster trucks, motorcycle,WOO) next he will be telling us he will have a NFL game in the infield.  I hope for the fans he can pull this off, but I am sure his racing plans will be modified alot.  He would have to have a full house every week to make his payout.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. If I had to guess, I'd say this is going to either be a smash hit or a big loss and I don't see it talking too long before we know which it will be. My gut feeling tells me that his main goal for this place is to have his very own Full Throttle Saloon type operation and I don't see any way in hell that it will mesh well with dirt track racing. One thing is for sure, I don't see it being a very family friendly facility with all of the other shit going on. Looks to me like he wants to have a place where anytime the gates are open, its one hell of a party. I know a lot of people aren't going to expose their kids to an environment like that. The only positive thing that I see at this point is that he's going to dump a bunch of money into but one thing I think he's going to learn VERY quickly is that sprint car racing is a very unique business compare to most others. Money doesn't always buy you success whether your a car owner or promoter. Building loyalty among the teams and fans can be just as important as having a shit ton of money to spend. At this point, if I had to bet money, I'd say that the racing side of things will be a complete and total failure.

One other thing I forgot to add, I don't know much about the details because I'm from Central Pa but from where I sit, racing against Knoxville may or may not be a bad idea but what was a bad idea was when he started running his mouth and talking shit about Knoxville. In my opinion, that's a major F-up on his part. It'd be one thing to just say he is trying to do what he can to boost attendance and car counts and moving to Saturdays is what he feels is best but the negativity towards Knoxville just might come around to bite him in the ass on the racing side of things. He can go ahead and have his big end of the year extravaganza but one thing he will NEVER have is a race that's equal to the Knoxville Nationals. I don't care if his race ends up paying twice as much some day it will never be on the same level as the Nationals. The Nationals is set in stone as THE one race that every sprint car driver dreams of winning. The Trophy means just as much as the big paycheck does. He'll never have that no matter what he does. Knoxville is the undisputed meccha of sprint car racing. After all, the Hall of Fame is there......nuff said.

No kidding. Maybe worse, at least a tattoo of an ex had some meaning at one point.

That's just it. I think he really believes he can, and will be bigger and better then Knoxville. He won't even rival their weekly show. He seems to be so wrapped up in himself that he's out of touch with what's going on in sprint car racing, more importantly, sprint car racing in his immediate area, if in fact he ever had a clue in the first place. I was optimistic about this, I said wait and see how this plays out, it could be great. Maybe it will be, but my stance has changed on account that this guy seems sleazy, cheesy, and concerned with promoting nothing more then his own lifestyle. Come see my million dollars worth of gold, get your picture taken with my gold, watch me melt my gold, come get my logo inked on your forehead for free, come see a 410 horsepower sprint car...wait, a what? Cmon Chuck, at least edit that part of your website. And maybe make an attempt at marketing towards an audience that is below the age of 45 and doesn't listen to Motley Crue on their Discman. I don't mean to bag on 45 year old rockers, what I'm getting at is that is very unappealing to the younger crowd that is needed to support the sprint car races, but like i said, it fits perfectly into his lifestyle which seems to be his main concern.

You hit the nail on the head. The dude is a narcissist. It's obvious he thinks so highly of himself that it's almost as if he's moreso creating a shrine for people to come worship his rockstar lifestyle and his vast riches as opposed to making Huset's a better facility. All I see is a guy with an ego the size of Russia who apparently lives in some kind of fantasy world or something. Whatever it is, I don't see this ending well for Huset's Speedway and that's a damn shame. One thing is for certain, if he is in fact trying to take on Knoxville the way he seems to be, he will lose. Money can't buy tradition and history which Knoxville has as much of as any track in the country. Personally if I were the promoter at Knoxville, I'd be laughing my ass off at this clown and looking forward to him crashing and burning while Knoxville just does what it's always done without any tattoo parlors, washed up hair bands or its own personal Fort Knox. Just putting on a great show each and every week with what I consider to be the most talented weekly field of racers in the country on the best prepared surface in the country and sprint car racings most iconic event every August that turns every sprint car loving eye in the country on a little town in Iowa where legends are made.

I'm not saying whether I think the Husets thing is going to work or not but I read alot of peoples comments on here and just wanted to say, you guys do realize this business that is opening on Thanksgiving is not at the sight of the race track right. Alot of peoples comments on here allude to that this pawn shop/tatoo shop/gun range/foundry/concert venue is being opened on the sight of the track and I just wanted to point out it isn't, its about 20 miles away from the track in Sioux Falls, the track is in Brandon SD.

Don't get me wrong, I look at everything thats going to be in this business and wonder what this guys thinking too but I just thought from many of the comments from people on here, they're making it seem like this is at the race track and its not.

I don't get why when a guy is attempting to put more money in racers pockets he gets crucified.  I hope it works out for him.  More payout is definitely in the best interests of racers.  Too bad Knoxville won't step up and do the same for ALL their cars.
