If Sunday is such a great night, and according to all the people that want to do whats best for sprint car racing and its teams wouldn't Knoxville running Sun. make the most sense, see you start at Jackson on Fri. than a hour east to BMS on Sat and than back home to Knoxville Sunday. But see the problem here is most people who own a race track do not want a Sun show, why because its Sun. 90% percent of racers in the upper midwest have jobs, and its not racing so unless you dont have to travel Sunday is not a great night, and one other thing other than 2 or 3 teams that do this for a living cars from Knoxville have never raceed at Husets unless for a holiday there might be a couple more that would show up.

It's the braniac at Husets that chose to change nights. Bringing up Knoxville and Sunday nights shows a lack of IQ! Besides, explain to me how it was that not too many years ago Huset's had a hell of a crowd every Sunday night. I know. I'd make the 2 hr drive, and many from our area did the same. The previous owners ruined it by not keeping up with purse demands among other things. They sure lined their pockets though. This I also know as a fact.

Not saying I agree or disagree with Badlands running 410's on Saturday nights, but the first time a Saturday rains out and they move the 5000 to win 410 show to Sunday as a rain date, encourage all the central Iowa guys complaining about the change of days to show up and run Sunday. Maybe if they have 35 410s on Sunday  vs 26 on a regular Saturday it will make them reconsider the night they run 410s. If there are 1 or 2 more cars it will probably reinforce their belief that they did the right thing by changing to Saturdays.

They definetely filled their pockets over the past few years by not upgrading quite a few things @ the speedway.

Hope the Rubins are happy by selling Huset's to Chuck Brennan for 1.4 million dollars.

FORD97 Brings up a valid point though. I did some reading up on this guy and he's a sleazeball. He's all about making money and he doesn't give 2 shits how. I'm all for capitalism but this guy represents all that is wrong with greed. This may all sound good but believe me, he's looking for anyway possible to separate the fans and the teams from as much of their money as possible. Making money is the name of the game when it comes to promoting a race track. That's the #1 reason they all do it but most promoters also have a genuine love for the sport and the truly great ones would sometimes put the fans and teams ahead of themselves if that's what's best for all involved. This guy isn't going to do that in fact, he doesn't give a damn about sprint car racing at all. He just wants to make a few more million. I'll be the first to eat crow if I'm wrong but I'll be willing to bet within a year or 2, this dude does something extremely sleazy and shows what a truly vile human being he is. I really do hope I'm wrong and I hope this turns out to be something truly special for Huset's and the fans and teams who call it home but I have a very bad feeling about it.

He hates sprint car racing so much he's bringing a record purse to an entire field - with a tow money program on top of it.

Yet another moronic post from a person that won't walk through the gates.

Pretty much everyone in the Sioux Falls area gets what is going on. We know how bad the place was being run before. This is the kick in the ass the track needed even if its a change in nights for the 410s.

Guess what they can do if Saturday night doesn't work out with the record purse? They can always go back to Sunday nights.

How can you call yourself sprint car fans if you want failure on a guy pumping in millions of bucks into a race track? Typical morons that call themselves the filth of Hoseheads, I guess.

I think I made it perfectly clear that I don't want Huset's to fail, much to the contrary actually. I hope I'm 100% wrong and this turns out well. You're right, I won't walk through the gates. I live way too far away. I just go by what I see and form my opinion. Obviously I don't see as much as you do so I'll give you that. I may not ever go to Huset's but when sprint car racing loses a track, the whole sport suffers.

I just did and I can't lie, I'm still pretty ugly. If I caught my wife banging another guy, I'd be a bit upset but I really couldn't blame her. To make matters worse, I got a zit on my nose sometime between this morning and tonight but other than that, business as usual and my business doesn't involve making millions by praying on vulnerable people so..........

You're full of CRAP!

LMAO. Damn, don't know why, but believe I struck a nerve. How am I full of crap? From the second weekend of May through the first weekend of September there are only five weekends that the NSL isn't at Knoxville, Jackson, or both (eight weekends at both and a one multiple night weekend at each track, filling ten Friday and Saturday nights between those two tracks.) Of those five weekends, two of them are the 360 and 410 Nationals weekends. I doubt they run against those, so that leaves three weekends without Jackson and/or Knoxville on the schedule. Granted, there are other nights in the week and weekends before and after that span, but the weather becomes very "iffy" before May and from mid September on in the NSL area. There will be other tracks with NSL races, but I bet I won't have to take off both shoes (probably won't have to take off my shoes at all) to count them.

I live in Sioux Falls and work in Brandon, I can't wait for next year's racing season. The Rubins did a terrible job with Husets and it was getting embarrassing. The track was not prepped correctly, the stands were falling down, bathrooms were gross, car counts were poor, and they ran a grader every single night.

The new owner is going to breathe new life into the place and he's starting by updating the facilities. So far he has new video screens, new lighting, new fencing and I've heard is putting new grandstands in. He is not going to turn it into a concert venue, he's putting money into the racing facilities. It's going to be a nice place to be, where new fans might even consider going. Being on Saturday will help too. I'm all for it, the Rubins ran their course at Husets, this is going to grow the sport locally.
