I read on IBRacn where a driver was suspended for getting out of his car on the race track and throwing a torsion arm at another race car driver on the track. It amazes me this continues to happen. I applaud NCRA for their suspension.
I would like to hear others thoughts on what should happen in this situation.

Not a race issue, just happened at a race. I doubt it was white car against black car.

NCRA Suspends Sprint Driver until further notice
Posted on: April 9th, 2015 by rb_admin
By NCRA PR (Park City, KS) — After a review of conduct made during the recent National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car series opener at 81 Speedway in Park City back on March 28, officials have announced a suspension to Oklahoma City sprint car driver Andy Shouse for an undetermined amount of time.

This suspension includes any and all NCRA sanctioned events effective April 1, 2015 and will extend until further notice from the NCRA office. This action stays consistent with prior suspensions handed down by the NCRA for actions detrimental by any team or individual to the racing program or other competitors during a sanctioned event held under the NCRA banner.

My thing is...is that really a punishment? He rarely runs with the NCRA so how is he really getting punished? He deserves some type of punishment but suspending him from a series he rarely races with is hardly a punishment. He raced with the series two times last season.

What about the track where the incident occurred. Just because the suspension by the sanctioning body will have little to no impact doesnt forbid the track from suspending him.

Yea, I understand there probably not much more the NCRA could have done. Fining him would be a possibility but that may never get paid unless Shouse would decide to run the series at some point down the road. I guess it is what it is.

While I understand the need for the NCRA to take action, I personally believe it should be action taken against entering the racing surface while cars are still moving. Does anyone know if that's the case? Is it a bit childish to throw a torsion arm? Yes, probably. But not the end of the world to throw an aluminum arm at a moving car in which the driver is sitting in a full containment seat with a helmet on. I'm not condoning what he did but I wouldn't condemn the guy either. Whatever that's worth.

Wow, he made himself look like a complete ass, I hope his friends and family love him enough to tell him what an idiot he was. Unfortunatley there is no way to punish him correctly, he should be parked for the rest of the year.

Given the right circumstance it totally could be the end of the world for the driver that gets struck with it at the right place at the right time. I saw some one in the infield of a racetrack a few years ago throw a screwdriver at a driver in a car that was being pushed by a 4wheeler to the work area, I was floored when nothing happend to the team of the guy that threw the screwdriver. That could cause some serious damage along with an aluminum torsion arm!

Yep that's my husband, he did something stupid, and he has been penalized for it. Bottom line - he's human. As you watch this and judge him, I hope you think about any time you've done something you're not proud of and how relieved you are that it wasn't caught on camera to be smeared all over social media.
I also hope situations like this show all series' officials that something consistent needs to be put in place for rough driving. Flagmen used to have a black flag, but you rarely see it these days. Rough driving is just as, if not more dangerous than the retaliation that's inevitable under caution or in the pits.

The safest place on the race track is in the race car!!! IF a driver has issues they need to settle it in the pits!

After reviewing the youtube video, my question is: why did the track officials not stop in to prevent the throw? Why did the track officials not step in to prevent a possible dangerous situation? Time how long the "tosser" waited for the other driver. Please do not construe my queries as an excuse for the "tosser's" actions, he deserves to be suspended.

Suspended for the season...... Fined..... Banned...... REALLY???? Was it dumb to get out of the car, well maybe, but concidernig the 24 car ran shouse over an crashed him an then he climbed out, id say not that dumb..... On the other hand, decided to wind up an chunk a torsion arm.... Probably not the smartest thing, but what's really irritating is the hypocrites on here that want to crucify a guy for getting mad for the bad end of rough driving which ended his night. An would anybody really be blowing this up if what happened last year was nonexistent? No, you probably would have laughed a little, said man what an idiot, an moved on.
An settle it at the pits? Yea that's a real good idea.... How many times have we seen THAT get outta hand real fast?
So here's my last question for all of you that are trying to ban and fine an suspend shouse from all tracks all over the planet, honestly in the heat of the moment when your moving up for a decent paying money race an somebody stuffs you in the wall what would YOU have done?

Maybe none of them would have said anything before last year, but we all learned a lesson a very hard way by losing the young man in New York last year. Now that the lesson has been learned, the response towards safety for everyone involved is absolutely paramount. You can look at it as bashing on the internet, but behind every comment that you find offensive is a sense of concern for the driver's safety. Despite the negativity in any of the comments, I can say with absolute certainty that everyone of the people that had something to say in this thread wanted him to walk away unharmed. If a fine or suspension wakes him up to the reality of the danger that he placed himself in, and saves his life in the future then I'm all for it.

yeah crazy but all race tracks and racers need to step up and police themselves. Just think how horrible this could have turned out, the car going just 20 mph if driver would have had face shield open and the bar hit him pointed into face could have been a life threating injury
