sammy may be a "blind old man" but he was riggt about one thing. Larson sure does tear up a lot of equipment. All those who say he may be better or whatever. Prime vs. prime I don't think there is any question as to who was better. Sammy was definitely smarter and more innovative and didnt tear up equipment. It's easy to drive the wheels off when you're not the one paying for the wheels. Bottom line, the answer to what people argued about after the chili bowl is that Larson is famous and has a bit of an ego now. Everyone told him how good he was and I bought into it as well. But. I, along with a lot of other people, were wrong. The kid isn't that good. I'd take sammy, kinser, Dave Blaney, Doug Wolfgang, brad Doty, any day. Any race.

Are you really that dense?  Kyle Larson has more talent than half that field combined.  I never said he's better than Sammy in a sprint car.  he's already proven hes better than Sammy in Napcar.

A guy two laps down,  Thats already wrecked three times this week gets spun and your blaming larson?   theres a whole lot mroe going on like  side draft etc.  The bump might have upset the apple cart but faults a perception.

Nice first post Sammy!

I'm sorry I don't have 422 posts. I have better things to do than live on here. All I am saying is that he hasn't really done anything yet. No championships in a major series. And to take a shot at sammy when sammy didn't do anything to him. That's all I'm saying. He may get there but he hasn't done anything yet. A couple nationwide xfinity whatever series wins. Good for him. and spinning out twice by himself was an accomplishMent. Now I have 2 posts.  420 to go.

I see he couldn't win today with all but 10 cars out. He lost it on his own

What is really funny is that I am a fan of Larson and I didn't see the Xfinity race....and yet you who has the Larson butthurt disease, knows how he did in the race. C'mon, you're a fan too, just admit it!

Some people didn't see exactly what happened at Chili Bowl.   I think it was Bell who got into kevin who then got into swindell and almost spun him.   Sammy then proceeded to ram on thorson.   Well Kyle said something about it to sammy and yeah,  he is blind,  he didn't even know who to be mad at..

Sheesh, Become anti Larson over one race,   The dude won three races in a row at a track he'd never raced before and had never driven a silver crown before that night.    Seems funny last year Larson was the rooke getting taken out and almost put through the fence,  Where were ya on that one?

The Channelock car was Sammy's own deal for starters. Show a little knowledge next time.

Sammy is the only guy in WoO history to win the championship as car owner, driver and chief mechanic in the same year. That is something Mr. Larson will never do, not even at the go-kart level.

nanny nanny nana....

Why  does one guy being good mean the other is bad?

They're obviously both terrific in their own way. We know what Sammy's done & Kyle will probably never equal his record in sprint cars, cause he's moving on to Big $$$... no telling how far he'll go

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Kyle Larson is about the same age as Sammy Swindell when Sammy ran his first WoO race?

What do you experts read into that?

I didn't mean to take it to the gutter,  Just coudlnt stand the badmouthing of someone he just chooses to hate because he's a Sammy Fan.     Sammy in his time was only bested by one or two people on a regular basis,   The King and the Wolf and the second one is questionable to being actually better.   The wolf also could set his own cars up and actually designed things.  Heck, He built em before he ever drove em.

Mitch, I don't know if its really fair on the age thing or not.   They didn't put 14 year olds in Sprints when Sammy came in.   However.  Larson did qualify for his first nationals and has won a few WoO and USAC races,  Sprints, Midgets, Crown, Trucks in only three races, Arca Champ.  Won in Xfinity and almost won a couple cup races in his rookie season.

Take it easy,  Guess the trolls will be the love to hate hims Smile

Well he ran the first WoO. It would have been hard to run one before that.

I'm 53 years old and I'm firmly aware of that Sammy's fist year with the WoO, was the first year of the WoO.....But what about the fact that at that same age, Larson has won in every type of car he's sat in, with the exception of Cup, which he won Rookie of the Year at 22 years old?
