I think they mean time trial OR pay more $$$ OR what to get more cars. R they going to reschedule the Twin Feature Race or what. That would be a good labor day deal.

They were actually getting pretty solid numbers early in the year though absolutely no credit should go to the track owners. I refuse to call them promoters, because that is the last thing they are.
Numbers dropped off mid-season as guys ran out of equipment or time and silly season got kicked off a little early. Jake Peters got hurt, Dusty Ballenger switched teams, Dusty Wasmund retired, The 1z team does not care at all about Husets and the 55 team had issues.
There is no incentive for teams like the 55 or the R19 to make it weekly when there is nothing offered for a points championship. It's really no wonder.
Bingo! Hold your cards, we have a winner..

Rubins don't do anything for their people?
I guess the driver of the car I sponsor must be upset that the nothing he got was a new car, and he runs a 360!

I agree with you about the points fund at the end of the season. It's a joke.

Its the same every year, car counts drop off in early August because the racers are out of cash.

Sandbags droescher got that chassis by being the only person willing to race at all three of their tracks weekly.
I think I understand what you are saying.
Racing 3 times a week for a promoter and showing loyality is a BAD thing.
Getting a new car for a second place is a bad thing also.
I think I understand what you said, just don't understand why you said it lol

Yes they do, Ethel. That is part of the problem. During the Tmac domination days they thought they'd change the format a few times to make it more difficult for him to win. It didn't work, however. They scratched time trials and inverted the previous week's winner. Terry had to start 15th-20th most nights, and put on a great show. For some reason, if you didn't have any points there, you started in the back of everything. Dennis Moore Jr. towed up there with the Williams 0 and missed the show because of that format. Williams used to field a car there at least once a year with DMJ, Allard and Peter Murphy, but no longer.
Wayne Johnson towed up there 6 times in '05 and never got the points to start anywhere near the front. He did pick up a win there, but still started 8th to do it. After being nixed by the 'promoters' for tow money or points, he opted not to waste the tire money on the place as most nights he'd burn up 8 tires. For the payout, it was just not economical.
Different eras call for different formats. Time to bring back Time Trials, bump up the payout at least to $2500 to win, $500 to start, and make the K'ville and other cars welcome again. 12 car features aren't going to bring me 300 miles like it used to.

Ok, so the weekly racing sucks. How about when the Outlaws come to town? Do they put on a good show? Is Huset's all that it's cracked up to be (a racey high banked bull ring). I have never been there. I've contemplated it, but never made the 5-6 hour drive. I want to be assured a good show.

If you want to be assured a good show, don't bother going to any race of any kind. I know every time I go to Huset's, K'ville, Eldora or anywhere for that matter, anything can happen. Some of the best racing I've ever seen was at Huset's. I may have sat through 3 bad ones for that to happen, but I was there when it did. Just like anything in life, it's a crap-shoot.

Ford97 why do you call randy sandbag?? I have known Randy for 16 years and he has never sandbagged a race. So where do you figure the sandbag name comes in?? Randy is a loyal driver to the sponsors not the tracks. He cannot afford to build a car for each track and his agreements with the sponsors includes the car to be at the tracks as much as possible. Do you happen to know how many races he has missed in 20+ years of racing?? From 1992 to 2002 Randy had the BEST attendence at all the tracks he raced. He missed no races due to not getting the car fixed. Randy puts more effort to make it to the track every week then most WoO teams. He does very good with the equipment he has and winning a chassis was cool to see cause he is loyal to RACING.

$2500 to win & $500 to start at Huset's. I'll guarantee you that will never happen. The fans up here better get use to 10 - 15 410's on a weekly basis next season.

Part of the problem with Huset's, at least coming from someone who used to race there on occassion, is that even though it is an awesome place to race, it is an extremely difficult track to master along with the fact that they race on Sunday nights. I don't think there is probably a better night for them to race on from a track operator or fan standpoint. However, from a racer's standpoint that is the most difficult night to run on. Especially if anyone on your team has to work on Monday morning. Even more challenging than getting to work on Monday is the Sunday aspect.
There were times that we might have won a 360 race on a Wednesday, ran 2nd at an NCRA race on Friday, win Knoxville on Saturday and then go to Huset's on Sunday night and wreck on the first lap of the feature. It really wears on you mentally. You might of just had an awesome week and won two out of four races....but the last thing the team remembers is crashing the night before. If you eliminate that struggle on Sunday night from the equation, it sure changes the dynamics for your team.
I will always treasure the few times we won there as Huset's is one of the most challenging tracks I have ever raced at. Although i'm sure I have suffered hearing loss because of it.......standing in the infield and watching and HEARING the sound of your 410 qualify there is HEAVEN to me.
