STRONG RUMOR - (9-9-14 @ 7:40 am CST) - While at Eagle Raceway on Sunday night, I got wind that there is a proposal out there for a new 410 Sprint Car series being developed for the midwest region. The series will be about 30-35 races that will be run in ND, SD, NE, KS, IA, MO and possibly other neighboring states. This is not to put any other series out of business or in competition of any other series but to give 410 teams more opportunities to race.
The series will have a very good points fund, paying the champion $75,000 to win. The drop off isn't that bad either with 10th place paying $15,000. If I'm not mistaken, the series plans to pay back to 15th spot. I'm trying to get more information about this series so if anyone has more info, please send it my way to [email protected] .

$75,000 to win point fund? $15,000 for last place? For 30-35 races? Assuming that works out to the a $300-350k point fund, that's about $10k a race to the point fund. Where would that money come from? The economics don't make much sense.

That was my thought as well. I'm not sure that it would even be feasible to have a point fund that high for a regional series. (The All-Stars point fund isn't close to this big and the WoO point fund pays $100,000 to the champ if my memory is correct -- and that's for 3 times as many races).

Caught wind of this 2 weeks ago. Cannot give a name but can tell you this individual has owned multiple cars, in sprint car premiere series AND YES he has a Minnesota address!! Obviously the numbers are not viable as a business, but neither is owning multiple cars. Hope this becomes a reality!

Well if it's Mr Big Game that would be interesting. Any word on what the race purses will look like?

Hmmmm. A Big Game Sprint Car Series. I'd bite. Todd has supported sprint cars for a long time, with the team plans for next year up in the air (I haven't heard anything about Dollansky's plans for next year) I could see this becoming a reality.

He can do more to benefit the sport by spending 500K on a series than one team. It's his money, just thankful he's willing to spend it on the sport everyone here enjoys so much.

I have no money to do something like this, but it has crossed my mind what it would take and how one could pull it off in the area. I was thinking more along the lines of what Moro is doing for Friday nights at the IA St Fairgrounds. Seems like he is trying to build something out of the 305 class. Had a Sprint Invaders race their around the 4th this season, it had a decent car count.
As great as this sounds and I think it could be great for the area and the sport, but I can't imagine they will be racing on Saturdays competing against Knoxville just isn't a great idea and splitting the cars between Knoxville and a traveling series isn't good for anybody

And if this series, and the new Renegade series could get in Illinois, or Indiana somehow for a couple co-sanctions, that would be a show.

who said that they have to run saturday nights. Sprint car shows could run specials any night, bring cars into area and also run on sat at Knoxville.

nobody said they had to race on Saturday - I just said that I don't think it would be very smart or beneficial for anyone involved for them to try and race on Saturdays
