I realize that you have to be aggressive and try to improve your position in the B and you don't want to be sitting in the last transfer spot, but you were in a transfer spot! It's a lot easier to make the feature protecting that spot than sitting in the trailer with a wadded up racecar after a move that had zero chance of working.

I thought the exact same thing. I just shook my head and couldn't believe that he just made a bonehead move like that. Wow......

I think it's related to Wimmer's age... Ya he's fast, but I think he may be a bit behind in the mental aspect... He wiped out some guys over here in the Golden State Challenge series too and got booed accordingly...

it is the knoxville nationals. the kid had tk, hodnett, pittman behind him. i would want to be 3rd too. he admitted he screwed up. he said he tried a slider and he thought he had him cleared but he didn't. i feel bad for kemenah too and i hope he heals up but it was just a racing deal. but since there wasn't no big action everyone will be talking about this for a long time.

You are correct about it being a "dumb-assed" move, but apparently calling it one of the most"dumb-assed" moves you've seen in quite a while!!!!! tells me that you don't get the opportunity to watch Brian Brown race on a weekly basis. After watching Brown race every Saturday night, I don't know if anyone can pull more or worse "dumb-assed" moves as he does on a consistent bases. Brown does moves like that every Saturday night and it's always "a slide-job gone bad".

I think getting Wimmered is just as appropriate. I've gotten into a few unnecessary scrapes, but with his experience he should know where his car is going to end up. I spent the whole B thinking "I sure hope Wimmer doesn't wad up anyone trying to keep it in a transfer". Right up until he did it. If you watch him, it's like you can read his mind and see the bonehead move he is about to pull, just before he actually does it. I was really hoping that with his success out west he had outgrown that stuff.

hey shorthair...you're right, i don't think he shows too much here in Ohio.....i guess i should make the trek to Iowa on the weekends to see what everyone is talkin about!!!heheheh!!! too bad those guys don't either learn or get penalized for their ineptness, heh? i take it that the K-ville regulars aren't too fond of B-Brown's style? Do you think that the fiasco at the Ntls. gave him a green l;ight to do that stuff? just lookin for an opinion........

Both cars looked like crushed beer cans afterwards. Wimmer's crew lifted what was left of the car by hand and basically threw it in the trailer. Both down tubes were curved to the right severely. Did they ever interview Kemenah on TV?

I realize that im going to get lynched on here for voicing the opposite opinion but someone needs to stand up for wimmer.
There are a few reasons Kemenah didnt get brian browned.....
1) Kemenah had the chance to see that Brandon was coming up as brandon was ahead of chad.....He COULD have lifted. I realize that in that position Chad was prolly not in any mindset to lift, but he had a chance to avoid it.....it was still a dirty slider but its the nationals.
2) They hit RR to LF corners....so it had a chance of clearing......brownies didnt have a prayer of clearing.
Brandon was doing what he needed to in over to protect his spot.....with the cars that were behind him and 2 hard charging cars from the C.....being in 4th is in no position you would want to be if you can put some insurance there.
Maybe it wasnt the right time, but you dont have time to wait for the perfect opportunity at the nationals.....you have to make a move when one presents itself....the kid admitted he screwed up and apologized for it on national TV.....alot of drivers woudlnt do that. (Not calling out Brown here at all, just speaking in generality)
Was it the best thing....no, but it not nearly as bad of a move as everyone is making it out to be.

I remember Karl Kinser, saying in a similar incident with Steve and Hillenburg,
"they both had a brake pedal"
