i was at the race, seated on the back stretch top row first section by the hall of fame. from our angle it looked like chad never had a chance to see wimmer until he was on top of him.

I realize that im going to get lynched on here for voicing the opposite opinion but someone needs to stand up for wimmer.
There are a few reasons Kemenah didnt get brian browned.....
1) Kemenah had the chance to see that Brandon was coming up as brandon was ahead of chad.....He COULD have lifted. I realize that in that position Chad was prolly not in any mindset to lift, but he had a chance to avoid it.....it was still a dirty slider but its the nationals.
2) They hit RR to LF corners....so it had a chance of clearing......brownies didnt have a prayer of clearing.
Brandon was doing what he needed to in over to protect his spot.....with the cars that were behind him and 2 hard charging cars from the C.....being in 4th is in no position you would want to be if you can put some insurance there.
Maybe it wasnt the right time, but you dont have time to wait for the perfect opportunity at the nationals.....you have to make a move when one presents itself....the kid admitted he screwed up and apologized for it on national TV.....alot of drivers woudlnt do that. (Not calling out Brown here at all, just speaking in generality)
Was it the best thing....no, but it not nearly as bad of a move as everyone is making it out to be.

but yet a hell of a lot worse than you are obviously prepared to admit.
yeah it's the nationals. and the dumbass (wimmer) was riding in a transfer spot. He was actually lucky his car didn't land on all fours........Kemanah was ready to kick the crap out of him. for good reason too..........it's the Nationals right?
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would

That is to bad Grove. You should at least try to make Stoga as it appears this will be the last year there for them.

Not one to defend Brown because his was extremely stupid, but
1) no national TV at 360 nationals
2) Brian was on the radio that Saturday taking full blame and saying something about his disengaged brain
I agree he does it too much and I'm disappointed that a power-slam like that had no visible repercussions, but at least he admitted he was wrong.

GSC fan- I'm a fan of the GSC too , I've just been on the other coast this year. Wimmer wrecking cars does not shock me. I watched him bounce off cars a bit, but my opinion was cemented at the 2004 Gold Cup. He blasted a car off the top of the track in a heat race. I'm thinking M Kinser. In the B the same racer pulled along side on the back strech. It was pretty obvious that the guy was not leaving BW racing room in 3. I was in the pit grandstand thinking " Don't turn left". I mean a drive by of the BMX track was the only option. Well, BW turned left, launched over the RR of ?Kinser?, and destroyed a really nicce sprint car. Using his brain would have saved the car owner a lot of money.

Ya...you should have heard how bad Wimmer got booed at a few GSC races this year...LOL He took out a few guys at least...at the races I went to. Young guys tend to be wreckers though... TK was kinda a wrecker about 5 years ago...

I've actually been saying for quite some time that he has no more business in a sprint car than I do.

I wish I had a dollar for every front end the King of the GSC ran over with an ill-conceived "slide job", and he's stuffed plenty a right rear into a nerf bar...
At 120, 130, 140, 150... miles per hour, shit happens, and in a hurry too! I'm sure Brandon was tickled pink with the outcome, just like Brian Brown was.
I'd reach deep into my moth filled pockets to see some of you trailer park experts strap yourself into one of Cory Kruseman's cars in Ventura and gladly hose your droppings out of the cockpit...

Faster Pussycat...not sure which was better, the band or the movie. Compared to Great White, Poison, Ratt...they were incredible!
But the movie, strippers seeking a thrill...how do you top that?!?!
John - Do you know of any hosers making the Skagit - Chico swing? My son and I are entertaining a road trip through WA, OR, Calistoga and Chico.

Speaking of "dumb a**ed moves," how about the one Franchitti made at Kentucky after the checkered flag Saturday night? When it occurred I automatically assumed that Matsuura (sp?) had caused it; however, the replays clearly showed that Franchitti must not have realized the race was over as he stayed on the "loud pedal" until he smacked the other car in the rear and went for his second ride in two weeks. Where was his spotter or crew chief.

No one that I know from here is making the trek but there are a few that are coming from Skagit down. There is a message board - NWRaceChat.com - were you can find the Skagit regulars. Be sure to look me up at Calistoga and Chico.
I have never seen the movie but heard it was way ahead of its time as well. Ahh how history can repeat itself.
I have most of Faster Pussycats earlier stuff. The remix album was the last I bought and by then Downe was off the deep end. Not much left after that. Great White and Ratt had their moments(way cool jr.) but Poison hit the right time/place with their music. To bad for their early demise as well.

Umm yeah, see him coming, no way. What race was you watching. Chad was ahead of Wimmer and Wimmer tried a slider in the middle of the turn, not entering the turn. Chad saw him alrught, about a second before he got slammed by him. Does anyone have any info on how Chad is? Heard he went to the ER after he got back to the motorhome and didnt know most of the people around him.
Life's short, race hard!!!

i was parked next to his hauler all week, i talked with his aunt after he got back from the hospital . she said he had a severe concusion. no physical harm to his head, other than getting tossed around pretty good, just some bumps and bruises. they were just supossed to observe him over night. as of then, he didn't realy know what happened at the track, and why he was hurt.
hopefully after a couple of sore days he'll be back up to racing.
best wishes chad.
adios

Well i cant speak for exactly what Chad saw as I was not in his seat, but based on the replays that I saw Chad should have had time to see and hear brandon coming with the slider. And you usually only have a moment to make all your decisions in the car. A stab of the break from either driver for a fraction of the second would have avoided contact between the two.
