Steve Kinser is not only a legend in the sprint car world, but a legend in all of motorsports!! No other driver can lay claim to the standards he has set and the facts are the facts!! This is an announcement that I knew was one day coming, but was hoping it would never arrive!! His popularity and achievements in a sprint car has done more for the sport we ALL love than any other person! Long Live the King!!

If this is indeed Steve's last season I hope that TSR has the opportunity to partner with past sponsors of Steve and make sure the fans from Coast to Coast can see the different iterations of the #11 over the years.
Would love to see throwback paint schemes from time to time including:
Coors Light -- maybe @ Knoxville or Eldora (he won a ton of races at both of those tracks in that car)
Valvoline -- ditto
Quaker State -- WG National Open or Chico
Bass ProShops -- WG National Open or Chico
Bad Boy Buggies -- World Finals
Plain white #11 with red #'s (how cool would that be to see at Hagerstown or Lernerville)
The possibilities on selling T-shirts/collectibles is HUGE - throwback shirts celebrating 35+ years traveling from Coast to Coast and I can foresee really long lines for autographs every night next season.

Awesome idea! I hope something like this is in the works. I agree--it would be a massive merchandise opportunity. I would probably spend my entire souvenir budget on the "farewell tour" shirts if they include what you have listed above.
Are you reading Tony?

Do you know what the difference between you and the other people on here that arent big Steve Kinser fans ? The were intelligent enough to keep their mouths shut so that they didnt sound like classless imbeciles that have no respect for the history of our great sport.

When Kinser quit the QS Nascar team, the World of Outlaws were racing at Metrolina Speedway in Charlotte, NC. I remember as a young kid sitting in the grandstands that night as the cars were practicing and racing, all I could do was stare at the highway outside turn 1 and 2 hoping his rig would pull in. It never did and I was devistated. Fortunately, he did return, but I kinda have that feeling I'll be doing that at every Outlaw race I'll ever go to again after this season. Constantly staring in the distance hoping his rig will eventually show up...

Regardless of whether he's the greatest to ever strap in or merely one of the greatest, there is only one King of the Outlaws. I have to admit that during his dominant years I briefly jumped on the 'anyone but Kinser' bandwagon but you've got to give the man his due. It was a privilege to see him race and it would be great to see him pick up a win or two in 2014. He deserves to take a farewell tour. I hope the fans get out and show their appreciation and I wish Steve an enjoyable, fulfilling retirement. After all those years on the road, and countless races, he's earned it many times over.

My favorite memory was a few years back after the PRI show in Orlando, Shane Carson invited me to Volusia Speedway Park to watch Kinser test.
We pulled up to the track and that huge Quaker Stake rig was parked on the front stretch and two cars were lined up beside each other. They were testing different parts, tires, etc.
After a few sessions, Kinser came up to me and asked if I'd take my truck and run the top of 1 and 2 in for him a few laps. I said sure. After a few more sessions, he came back to me and said I did a great job and that Haud probably couldn't have done it better himself. Afterwards, they broke down all their tires which still had a lot of tread and gave them to me along with a couple t-shirts.
Shane invited me back to Orlando to play poker with him and Kinser, but I had to work the next day. All night long on the way home, Shane texted me photos of them out partying all night reminding me of the night I missed out on! I was still happy though!

Well said man...my sentiments precisely.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

A Really good idea! To me, Steve is most closely associated with the green Quaker State car. That's the one I saw him in the most.

I know he probably doesn't have enough in the tank to win it--but, can you imagine the roar from the crowd in Knoxville in August if he were to (even briefly) take the lead in the -A- main on Saturday night? Might be the loudest you ever hear the place--seriously. I think everyone--lovers and haters--would give him a standing ovation.
