STP WoO WRG corp. DIRT sponsoring STP #15 absolutely no bias there

Not that if STP sponsorship of the #15 would stop any of the BS

  1. Start 3 hours late for a poor prepared track
  2. Delay everything do not try to speed the show up by doing the National Anthem during the delay or having Micros line up and ready no sense of urgency.  Just a sorry for the slight delay come on I have been around long enough to know a slight delay is not 2.5 to 4 hours.
  3. Still take an intermission makes a lot of sense.
  4. Start of A feature let the #15  completely stop on back stretch after a yellow was out and give The Title Sponsor STP his spot back because he saw red lights after he had a very poor start. The car was rolling over on RR big time.  Biggest bunch of BS. I highly doubt if anyone especially NON WoO drivers would gets this special treatment. Not sure who 4 wheeler was helping him push back off did they check a part for him or adjust a tie down which only takes seconds now days. Maybe it was a trusty STP official.  It was amazing after that not another glitch for that team after with the starts.  I am questioning also was there a lap down the leaders passed the start finish line which would have put #15 in 4th or 5th?  I am not sure on this rule because I do not have an STP rule book or a WGR rule book Title make it up as you go and depends who you are.
  5. Then penalize the #7 for still having crews on track apparently this is another one good ol boy rules?  Not all the cars were on the front stretch for officials to see clearly either. No possible way to police this accurately.  I happened to Sammy last year also if I remember correctly.  By the way I am not a fan of the #7.

After all of this I am officially done with the STP WoO unless something changes in the future.  I will stay home and watch WWE Raw instead.  They have a decent opportunity with this race to get more fans.  Most people that go to this race do not go that often.  I did when ever the WoO was around the area and have travel further to them.  I will continue to support the local races but No more WoO.  I can handle mistakes, late starts, and every once in while terrible tracks, and ECT… but plain a$$ favoritism I draw the line.  I will make plans to see other events Indiana Speed week, ASCS shows, PA races, non WoO and other NON WoO sanctioned events.  Especially after reading about CA screw job that Forsberg got and other posts about the lack of WoO tech with MSDs and Tubing that has been going on for past few years.

I will not post another Response to this.  I read most posts but really hate the negativity that goes on but I just can not seem to let this one go.  Nor should any paying fan.  I know there will be very bias #15 fans quick to stomp on this and that’s fine. I respect the #15 but really would rather see him earn the W do not just hand it to him.   I don’t care who wins I just want to see good and fair racing period.  I know there were a lot of people walking out very disgusting with WGR/DIRT WoO so they better WAKE UP and it wasn’t the track or delays.

I didn't go because I don't want to spend that kind of money to watch go-karts follow each other around the bottom as a support class, but after reading your post I am REALLY GLAD I didn't go.

This is the first year since they started with the WOO that I missed the show. Sorry to hear they took so long to get the track ready. In the past the shows were always very good, I even enjoyed the micro's (at least they look like a sprint or midget). The only thing I've ever hated about the trip was the drive up and back from Des Moines - there is just no good way.

The past couple of years we spent the night in Spencer then drove over to Deer Creek, the actual show is pretty good the killer is the dust during the feature - out of the past two years I have yet to see the end of the feature because the dust was so bad we just left about half way through the feature (at least we got a jump on the traffic)

Mark Burch posted on FB that he made the decision to pull up and leave.  Stopped for a steak dinner and was in the motel room relaxing by Feature time.  Must have been really bad for someone as dedicated as him to give up the disaster and head out.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

If your going to charge a family of 4 $120 to get in or compete for entertainment $$$ then it is very important you have the track ready and dust free at the time you say the event is supposed to start, keep the show moving and have a good support class and no....go carts, outlaw hornets, hobby stocks dont count. It is not hard to find 20 to 25 A or B mods or something that has some appeal for a support class. I guess WRG/SLS dont give a hoot if people ever come back..I have been WoO free after seeing a deal just like what I just read since 2007! I used to go to a couple of WoO shows a year so 2x6 is $420 for tickets + hot dogs and pops and probably a tee-shirt so thats well over $500 these CROOKS have cost themselves with me. IMO these buttholes ARE NOT healthy to a sport I have loved for close to 40 years.

Most ill run, ill managed race I have been to in years. Also had NASCAR moment when Schatz stopped because he thought he saw a red, it was a tail light on a 4 wheeler. With the tower to the north full of red lights, I'm surprised they got it in.

Sometimes you just can't win. If the track would've been dry, people would bitch. The track was too wet last night, and people bitch. There's gonna be good races, and there's gonna be some bad ones. I think people tend to be more vocal when they go to a bad night of racing, while a lot of good nights go unoticed. I'm just glad to live in a part of the country where we have shows to go to period.

The whole WRG hatred is not somehting I don't get involved in either way, but I highly doubt at that level of sprint car racing that there is some sort of conspiracy to get Donny Schatz up front. He doesn't need to seem to need any help in that department, he's doing just fine on his own...

Kind of agree with Backspacer here.

There is no good recipe for prepping that track.. its gonna be sloppy early, and dry out quickly. Its the nature of the surface the track was made out of.  Pretty sure SLS wanted to bring equipment to
"open" the track up the night before so they could get some moisture down, but that was shot down by CCF officials..

This was SLS first attempt at a race at CCF, and pretty much failed miserably, but I hope they learned from it.  Dinking around with things like getting a frikking string and paint can out and marking the radius of the tires?  Taking the time to run the skid loader around the tires to remove the material that wouldve stopped cars from getting into the tires to begin with.  Things like that...

Whatever it costs to Have Chris Duncan and the Knoxville crew, wouldve been money well spent last night. At least he has some experience with the surface, but, like I said initially, there is never, ever gonna be a surface like Knoxville there..  Theyre just that different  in the materials used.

I hope the push trucks got paid well, for the laps they put in, and their car wash money..

While I didnt particularly care for the show last night, ive been to worse.... lots of times.

I was particularly amazed at how tolerant the crowd was of all the delays..

Nebraska Cup 2013--42 cars, 5 heats, 2 b mains and a outstanding 30 lap A where passing was going on all over the track, cars from the back moving up fast, HUGE slide jobs.......$15.00!!!

Wow such bitching, seems like someone needs to take a nap. Me personally I enjoyed going to this track, you get there earily enjoy one of the better county fairs around, eat some good food, and finish it off with a race. Yeah last nite was messed up, at 3:00 I walked the track and it was DRY! Yeah they over watered it and there was a delay, but so what. Myself like many others come very long ways to see these races and if I wanted to be in bed by 1100 Id stay home. Its life deal with it not everything is perfect. The deal with Schatz that isnt the first time Ive seen that with a driver. Once again it was a judgement call like it or not its over with time to move on to Deer Creek, oh yeah Im here already.

Rizzo hit it on the head. That is a different kind of surface at that track. SLS just screwed up with the water truck and all the dinking around. Looked like a cartoon with the 2 graders going every which way and 1 even parking his for an hour ! Think the Dunkins prepped  the track last few years. That place slicks off no matter what but wow was that a foot tall cushion or what ?  Without the delay a pretty good show at a real pleasant County Fair with  good food on that fairgrounds.

I think I just saw ASCS race results at Corning, Iowa and they only had 14 cars, are you sure you can get 40 at  Spencer????????

Tony Bruce (in conjunction with the JSTS group) has been trying to promote an ASCS National race here and finally gave up a year or so ago.  Its not happening as long as the WoO is on the schedule for the fair.

I was disapointed, I expect better from the WoO and SLS. The only other WoO race I went to this year was Husets and that was also a blunder. I was also planning on going to Deer Creek but decided not to waste the money after the Spencer fiasco. Maybe next year spend the money and hire the Dunkin.

That race last night was the Warrior Region not the National Tour. The Warrior Region is dead, just look at the numbers for all races besides Moberly for a high paying special. The National Tour will bring 40 cars. The National Tour race would also bring a much better race than the traveling circus.

For those bitchin' about how long Spencer took (and I was there too) you should have been at Deer Creek Saturday night. Due to incoming weather, they went on hurry up mode and ran the whole show in 2 hours. The Sprint Cars were done by around 8:30 PM. And yes it did start on time. You don't beat the Deer Creek operators at running a race track.
