I know this is not about sprints.......
What's up with the attendance at this race? Back when they put dirt on it one year, the seats were totally filled for a Nascar race. Is the US economy that bad?.....I live in Canada. TheWoO come up here for a race nearby once a year and they sell out without any advertising.
I wish USAC would come here as well.

This was a race that was hard to get tickets to at one time.

There is no doubt about it, our poor economy has slowed things down.

Shi**y racing doesn't help. I wouldnt walk across the street to sit in a suite at a Nascar race. I use to love Nascar but the IROC style cars, Darrell Waltip's endless babbling, and Danicamania ruined it for me.

No wonder NASCAR said they will no longer announce estimated attendance figures. Is that place much more than half full?
Don't know how people can sit through 500 laps of that stuff. It puts me to sleep.

Be careful of what you wish for.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Yeah, I noticed a lot of empty seats. Wasn't long ago you got on a waiting list to buy seats.

Just go look at the prices of a ticket at a NASCAR race. A decent seat is around 125 a ticket and then to get a pass to check out the garage area, etc before the race only is about the same. So you and your son go it would cost 500 bucks. That doesnt count gas there and back, parking, food, a tee shirt or two. That doesn't include a hotel if you lived far away. 700 bucks for 2 if you wanted good seats and then wanted to see the garage area etc without a hotel for the night. Get a hotel youll be pushing 1,000 bucks. Bristol use to be the hardest ticket to get. Had to get on a waiting list for the night race there, not the case any more. BTW, I have thought that the Nationwide series is better anyway for the last few years if youre going to watch.

If you want to see some real fans, catch up with my buddy Dean and some of his friends watching sprint car and modified races at the dirt tracks in Western PA. Dean will probably be there fifty or sixty times this year. Don't look for him on TV.

Product of the economy, and NASCAR's 90's surge. A lot of places are overbuilt. More seats than any sport could support short of the super bowl. Today was actually a good race, a good track, and seeing the stands kinda makes me want to go back, for once I wouldn't be packed in.

Nascar is so worried about getting new fans that have pissed off the old fans. Drivers are not allowed to say what is on there mind, super speedway races are nothing but a wreckfest and last man standing usually wins and some of the tracks the racing is just plain boring with little or no passing. And Danica, she can't drive shit. What happened to" boys have at it"?

NASCAR could want to use all kinds of excuses, but their biggest problem is NASCAR itself. They are delivering a poor product. And trust me, no matter what the price is, nobody will continue to go to a place that delivers a poor product or service.
It is sad to look back and wonder how it happened, but when the made all the cars the same, the end was in sight.

that ...and...the infamous "chase" turned many people off...I was one of them! Haven't watched a complete race since they started that stupid thing. All in an effort to cater to the cheese and wine folks they were after. Thought that would make it more appealing to them. WRONG!!!
I LEARNED ESP FROM MY MOM
"PUT YOUR SWEATER ON: DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW WHEN
YOU'RE COLD?"

I used to like it when Fireball Roberts was still racing, & cars were based on production models fans could actually buy. That was a LONG time ago....

How about for some excitement, back to North Wilkesboro and Rockingham. They could pack them and be proud to show the crowd.

It rained Saturday night/Sunday morning & a lot of people expected a rainout & left town, not wanting to attend a possible Monday race.

Amen, speeking of those two, you would swear DP is his daughter.., and returning to highlight a driver running in a solid 34th for the past 100 miles, like who gives a crap!. there is no stories better than that?

I blame it on the shitty racing and pointless cautions. How many times in the past 3-4 years have they thrown the yellow for a car that brushed the wall or because a driver who was bitching about to get lapped and they threw a "debris" caution. NASCAR racing isn't what it used to be and it absolutely sucks now.
