We have been having a hell of a time trying to get our car to work lately. It seems like no matter what we do it just does not respond to the changes. We've never had this problem before and we're looking into switching chassis manufacturers and were wondering what to get.

I know J and J's have a tendency to be very on or off. Everybody says that Maxim's are exactly the opposite. I've heard GF1's are good but they have a learning curve that you need to get over first. I haven't heard much about Eagle, or Schnee. Can someone give me some insight as to what they are like and what they would recommend.

Thank You.

What do you currently run for a chassis

Stay away from chassis made in China. There is a big difference between chromoly and ChromeMolly, and a spint car isn't a sprint car.

They don't even know how to spell sprint car much less chromoly...http://www.ycmco.com

Schnee's are GREAT cars! Brian is an awesome guy to deal with too. They respond great to any change you throw at them!

We're running a J and J right now. We have for the past couple years and have done pretty good with them but it seems like as of lately their new cars are just not working, no matter what we do to it, we've tried different bars, different shocks, different wheels, even different wings with no good results. It seems everyone I've spoken to is having this problem with J and J also.

I know I'm going to hear a bunch of shit about this, but we switched to XXX this year after running Maxims, and we like them a lot better. Responds awesome to the smallest of adjustments, and is consistently hooked up and fast on a dry slick track.

Not sure where you are located but my favorite thing to do with any race car if you're having problems with it is take it to Beaberbuilt in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Whether it's 10 years old and been upside 20 times or if it's brand new from any manufacturer...they are always better off his frame table with a little Beaber tweaking! Some guys even take their brand new cars to him to have them checked and tweaked before even putting it together.

Besides that, get a Maxim. Not saying my numbers are exactly 100% correct (maybe someone has switched cars and i didn't catch it) but here is Maufacturer numbers for the Saturday Natl's finale. MAXIM = 15, J and J = 3, KPC = 3, ART = 1, Eagle =1, GF1 = 1...I would guess these guys know what they're doing?

+1 on taking it to Beaberbuilt.. Do that first, it may save you from wasting a bunch of money.

You need a set of Factory Kahne shocks and an A.R.T. Chassis. Also those Spike Chassis cost next to nothing and work vary well.

Tacos, unless they have "relocated" to the U.S. they are built in China.

To the original poster I would suggest, rather than a message board, you get in contact with the guys who are driving a sprinter. I would think they would be, by far, your best choice for factual information. I would stay away from the "top" guys who, from what I know, get their cars at no charge. Good luck!

Maxim has the most wins because they are by far the largest manufacturer of sprint car chassis in the world, therefore, more drivers run them and they should have the most wins. I have always rooted for the underdog and am always happy to see a win by one of the smaller manufacturers, be it ART, GF1, Mach 1, Schnee, Wolfweld, etc. That being said, Maxim must be doing something right because they have been on top for over 20 years. The key is to run a chassis from a company that gives outstanding service and can help you get staightened out when things aren't going so well. Tires, engines, shocks, bars, and set up knowledge also factor into how a chassis is running. It's a tough business to stay on top for both the drivers and manufacturers.

We were talking about the biggest sprintcar race of the year. Who cairs how many wins came in that china crap. This is America, and we "American's" are tired of China trying to take over the US market. "Made in USA" is what I want to see on my product.

Hopefully none of those cars that you "care about in the biggest sprintcar race of the year" had Winters or Simpson products on them.

Good luck!

Their website says Washington.

Thank You.

you should have shocks and T-Bars checked. Any one can get a car set up for moist tacky tracks, but find it very hard to set up car for dry tracks. I am one of those that can find it very hard to set up car for dry track.
