its getting close to race time , how is the racing surface ? will there be a reasonable amount of clay applied to the track , or will there be just enough clay to cover the existing surface . in my opinion this track will have problems if it rains dirt like it did last year , there are houses very close to the track . all i ever expect is what someone says they will do . what happened to the practice day that was supposed to happen ? everyone is really hoping for a racy track , sure hope we get it ..

We all hope we get a good race track and for that matter even a better race . But no matter what. myself and I know of a lot more that are going to support this track . We need tracks and racing to stay strong in so calif . If I have to drive as far as Hanford, Tulare , Santa Maria , Ventura , Victorville , canyon , Yuma , and the PAS. I'll be there for every sprint car race i can . They are all within four hours of me . And I'm cool with that .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Bentaxle, why don't you just let the man do what he needs to do and show up with a half dozen friends to enjoy the show and support him? We don't need to run another promoter out of town with this message board.

I believe that SB has already posted that John aden will be doing track prep.

Well put Brett. I plan on bringing my car out for that race. We need more dirt tracks in socal for some good racing. Victorville is a great race track that needs to be massaged.

If it's as hot next weekend as it is now it won't make any difference who preps the track as it will be slick,I don't think the best prep guy in the country could give us a tacky track with these hot and breezy conditions. So instead of worrying about track prep, just go and support this race and be happy there's another track that we can race on thats fairly close.Just because a track is tacky doesn't always make for the best racing, some of the best races I've ever seen in my life were on dry slick tracks, when the track is dry it shows who can set up their cars and it shows the drivers who can adapt their driving to fit the track conditions, instead of a hammer down follow the leader type race when the track is to good.

Some of our so cal boys need some track time on less than a perfectly prepared track. Look at what usually happens at the ovals. In the beginning the track is a jewel and the locals excel. But after a few days of hot laps and racing, the track becomes a playground for the midwest boys. Please don't jump on me for picking on the track prep at Perris. It is just a reality.

We have had some curveballs thrown at us here late in the game but thanks to some great people the racing wins!!!! As we speak clay is piling up on the oval! I know Harry was at the track this morning taking pics of the clay coming in and hitting the surface. His pics should be showing up any time now. I would post some on here but I'm not smart enuff!!!! Scotty your not out of the loop and you owe none of us any explanations . As a matter of fact the less we see you on here the more we know your preparing for what is going to be a great time and hopefully a great future for the track you are promoting . We will see you at the races .

brett i will ask all the questions i want to ask in this forum . what i ask and who i ask is not up to you , thanks . john aden will not be doing the track prep as of 2 days ago , so things are changing and i an asking questions . i was told scotty was only going to put enough clay on the track to cover the existing surface , due to cost . .that amount would be blown off in hot laps , and would be a waste of money and effort ,if this is the case . no one ran off the last promoter he was a flake , and yes i have had dealings with him in the past . it would break my sprintcar heart to see this happen again and if the new promoter makes the same mistakes the last one made , we might just lose this track for good !! sb early on you seemed to address all questions, hopefully this is still the case ..

Bentaxle, would you please do this, look for SB-twosix on this string. Click on the blue letters, you will see a new screen open up. On that screen you will see that you can send an email straight to Scotty Burns. There you can ask all of your questions. I am sure that Scotty will try to answer them as well as he can. We have enough pissing matches on this board. If you don't like what you hear, then you can take Sunday off and let the real racers race.

why all the sudden do we need to use e-mail ? why dont we pass out an email roster and then shut this board down . is that what you are saying ? should i just crawl under the carpet quietly ? when people work as hard as i do to help keep cars at the track , i can ask these questions in this open forum ! its funny i ask a couple of simple questions and suddenly people need to stick up for what ??? im the guy that when you poke me with a stick i hit you with a big rock ! ever hear the expression " dont start nothing , wont be nothing " well all the negative response i get only makes me dig harder .. my original questions were not out of line ! i have heard more stupid b/s from people whining about this place when the first date was canceled , than i have on any other subject on this board . now all the sudden there is a hush hush memo that i didnt get circulating ... im all for this deal , dont get that wrong . i supported this track last year when only a small few were up to the challenge . i supported this track when the last promoter made a lot of promises and delivered few . i supported this track knowing it would be a dirt storm and the chances of losing equipment was higher than normal .i will continue to support this track , and i will use this forum to voice my opinion , and to ask questions ...thanks for the input .

Maybe Bentaxle shouldn't bother to race at Perris since John Aden doesn't prep that track.

why dont you explain very thoroughly what your problem is with the questions i asked .if you cant do that all you are doing is blowing hot desert air !! what makes you think i have any preference who preps a track . i didnt say on this message board that john aden was going to prep route 66 , that came from s.b. there have been several advertisements made by s.b. on this board , so its only fair that he answer questions on this board .

Bentaxle, instead of complaining about Victorville and who or who isn't prepping the track, why don't you be like the rest of us and be thankful that someone is trying to bring sprint car racing to another track? Scott Burns hasn't even had the doors open yet and already you are complaining. In case you aren't aware, Scott Burns is a former sprint car racer. He ran Ascot back in the 80's. I'm sure he's going to do the best he possibly can to make the track as racy as possible. Let's just hope Mother Nature is in a cooperating mood. Scott is trying to bring back racing to Victorville and make it affordable for all. He is charging $15 to get in the stands and free parking. He is starting the show early so we all can be home in time to get enough sleep for work the next day. Not only that, but he's doing something that I haven't seen in a very long time. A Sprint and Midget doubleheader with no other supporting classes. To me, that sounds like a man who's really trying to please the open wheel fans. Let's all get together and support Scott and not try to bring him down before the first race even happens. I'm sure that a lot of us who are worried about the cost of gas can get together and carpool up there. It's up to us, the fans, to make this a success. So let's do this! I'm planning on being there and I'm trying to get people to go with me as well as meet me up there. Let's fill those grandstands and show Scott Burns that we want more sprint and midget races @ Victorville.
RIP Chet and Mark. You might be gone but never will
be forgotten.

all i did was ask 2 questions , maby you can read back to the start of this thread and clearly see all i did was ask 2 questions . it seems some of you are full of drama and wish to provoke some sort of problem from me for asking questions .
