Yes he is running two classes of sprints. The champs and e sprints. I know of two e sprints in the process of being built and heard rumors of one more being built. Also, I know of one in the thought process as well. If all the e sprints would show up on a regular night you would have just as many cars as the champs.

Let me get this out there. I am in no way slamming champs. I am just talking numbers.

Doesn't that work the other way too? If all the champ sprints around showed up they would pull a number 4-5 or even 6 times the e sprints.

Never said it did'nt but I do know some champ drivers would not step foot at Brills.

Is this because the car count sucks or because you can't stand sprint cars?

This is one track that i cant understand why they dont run a sprint car show like ocrs or ascs. With the location decently close to OKC and tulsa, you would think they would get a good field of cars. If all these other oklahoma tracks are doing ok by booking these kinds of shows each year, why doesnt meeker run any?

OCRS will be at Brill's on April 20th, that is a misprint on the race for the 6th it is the 4th of May, and for the Car Count we had an average of 80+ to 90+ all year except for around 3 nights when it was hot, so why don't you come out and stop the negatives, no track with this economy needs negative input !!!

Danny is correct......

Coming on Friday April 20th, race fans will see the onslaught of winged 360 sprint cars from the Oil Capital Racing Series. The OCRS warriors will begin their 11th season @ BMS and the projected racing action looks to be excellent!

and what would "this economy" be Danny???

It's not anyone else's fault that track rulebooks allow for tens and tens of thousands to be spent for a few quid to win and a few Andrew Jackson's to start.

tired of people hiding behind this economy bullshit. Not singling Brill out either - kudos to him for finally fielding a sprint special - I'll stay by my word - I don't care what gas prices are or what I have going I'll be there. but this a problem that ever single track and series has - and in fact Brill could get double kudos because the e sprint class was/is a terrific idea. I thought they would suck, but when we saw them last year we liked it. that class has great potential.

as far as the economy though - gas prices suck - but for what it cost to race anyway - the vast majority of the field can afford it, or at least a hell of a lot better than they can afford to keep up with the $$$ some teams put into their rides (not their fault as long as the rulebook allows it). it's the bleachers that have and will continue to suffer....

Own a racecar Cody and then comment about the economy. It cost a lot more money to get to the track now. And yes Cody all classes have gotten out of hand on the spending. You put that with added costs of fuel ect and that's why a lot of cars stay in the garage right now. 80-90 cars in the pits with about 5-6 classes is not a good car count but right now with the economy the way it is an fuel prices ect that's better than nothing. Don't take this as a knock on a track either. I'm thankfull for every track that's open. I'm sure it's pretty tough to keep it going.

Fuel Prices to get to the Track are a big factor when towing a race car, and the only class i see that has become more expensive the last 2 or 3 years is the sport mod class, you have guy's putting alot of cash in those cars for chassis and engines, but we are all doing this not for the money but for the fun and winning championships, cause if your in it for the money your not gonna get rich racing dirt track, it is a hobby and fun, and of course we all want to go fast not slow, to be fast and win you have to spend the bucks, that is just the way it is in this sport, we have $9,500 in a new Pro Stock, $10,000 in one engine and probally close to the same in the other engine, are we racing for a purse each week to cover all those cost's no, but it is the fun and competiveness that drives you to race, would it be nice to race for more cash yes it would, but for your local tracks you run for $400 to $500 to win each week, and we still race each Friday Night and always will. Support your Local Dirt Tracks & Racers and just enjoy the Fun !!!

Lets say gas goes from 3.00/gallon to 4.00/gallon. Lets say you have a fifty gallon tank. Thats an additional 50 bucks to get to either Lawton or Meeker from OKC. Lets say you normally spend 100 bucks a night in race fuel. Now you are spending 200. You are gonna say that people who have 10,000 into their pro stock or whatever aren't racing because of an additional 150 bucks?

I think people just like to bitch about the gas prices. Its something to talk about. Like the weather. Everyone can relate. Did anyone else notice that bread has gone up and doritos are high now. Hell, so is hamburger meat and hotdogs, etc... Just gas is displayed on lit up signs on every corner so everyone has to say something. Guess what? Gas will do two things, it will go up and it will go down.

I hear people say that they drove an additional two miles to find a Murphy USA that was at 3.35 instead of 3.49. Don't people realize that if you put 15 gallons in, that is a difference of 2.10? You're busting your balls and adding stress to your life for two bucks? Get real people. If gas and an economy is keeping you from racing, then you probably shouldn't be racing to begin with because with a budget that tight you aren't going to be too competitive therefore won't have too much fun. I am just saying.

Now let me ask you a question Jeff. You relize when car gas prices go up so does race car gas prices? What I have seen fuel prices are usually 2 to 3 dollors higher than unleaded gasoline. So using Jeff's example using just a race car. Most people run a 25 gallon or slighty more fuel cell. So lets say you buy enough gas to fill up at 5 bucks a gallon that is 125 bucks. Now we all know these cars are not the best at fuel milage. So for a feature you have to add 5 to 10 gallons of gas there is another 25 to 30bucks. So one night of racing you could be looking at 150 to 155 bucks just to go around the track. Now do that monthly and you are in the 600 dollor range. I know these in some cases are extreme but in some it is the truth. This is not even talking about the weekly upkeep that one has to do on the car.

I know that are a few on this board that do not like going to the "smaller" tracks such as Brills, Creek and so on becuase thier weekly shows are in their terms weak. But, for the weekly guy 600 bucks is a lot of cash. Shoot for anyone 600 bucks is alot of cash. If you can afford an extra 600 bucks then I need to talk to you. We all know that racing is expensive. We all know that you will never see your checkbook again once you get a car. But, like any race team no matter the series you are always looking for ways to cut costs.

I know these posts are just people opinions of what is going on but like Glen has said in his post get a car and then talk.

I knew it probably was going to be crazy high. I used $5 a gallon becasue 5 bucks is an easier number to grasp and I run methanol.

How many gallon fuel tank did you have in the car?

No info as of yet that has been posted, so far it is still a go depending on weather of course, glad we run methanol cause it was last year cheaper than gas for your car or truck, but everything has become more expensive Gas, Food, Parts you name it, but it is the price you pay to have fun !!!
