TMS U.S. National Dirt Track Championship Registration Now Open!
Ft. Worth TX (7/5/11) by DarinShort.com. The U.S. National Dirt Track Championship at Texas Motor Speedway’s Dirt Track will take place on September 15-17, 2011; and online registration is now available.
By clicking http://www.darinshort.com/dtc.html all competing race teams can take advantage of this convenience. At this special registration page, there is a link for each race division to preregister their team, purchase advance 2-day pit passes, reserve a paved pit space and sign up for practice night.
Teams can pay using any major credit or debit card and all transactions are secured through PayPal, an eBay company that has over 78 million active accounts. You can make multiple purchases on the registration section within the same transaction, which will save you time and typing. You do not have to be a PayPal member to use this online service.
Printable event schedules, rules and more can also be found at the link listed above. And if you’d rather enter by mail, there is an event flyer at the above link that you can print, fill out and send your payment.
Modified and Limited Modified drivers will have two provisional’s added to their championship features – but will be drawn from pre-entered drivers only; so don't miss out on this second chance! Early registration ends on September 2. There are also a limited amount of reserved, paved pit spaces; so enter early to ensure your spot.
The Limited Modified tire rule will be H500 or IMCA 500 only. Modifieds will race on the Hoosier G60, American Racer stamped G60 or KK-704 tires only. There is one other format change this year, Saturday night’s qualifiers will be lined up by Friday results, instead of Friday heat passing points.
And remember that if you need racing parts, fuel or Hoosier tires for this event, you should contact http://www.SmileysRacing.com as they will be on hand to keep racers on track at this event. If your choice of racing tires is American Racer, http://www.DayMotorsports.com will have them at the track to meet your needs. If you place your order ahead of time, these vendors will deliver it to the track, thus saving shipping expense.

PORT-A-COOL® TO SERVE AS TITLE SPONSOR OF U.S. NATIONAL DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP
FORT WORTH, Texas (August 4, 2011) - Port-A-Cool® and Texas Motor Speedway have agreed to terms for the international portable cooling unit company to serve as title sponsor for the upcoming U.S. National Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

The Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship will be held Sept. 15-17 with hundreds of competitors vying for prestigious championships in the Modified, Limited Modified and SUPR Late Model divisions. Port-A-Cool®, new to the Texas Motor Speedway sponsorship family, signed a one-year agreement and no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
"Port-A-Cool® is extremely pleased to be part of Texas Motor Speedway's family of sponsors and this world-class motorsports venue is an ideal fit for us," Port-A-Cool® Vice President of U.S. Sales Jeff Lloyd said. "Our units are extremely successful in areas that are not conducive to air conditioning such as garages and work shops so we are catering to our audience. We had a couple of displays set up at Texas Motor Speedway during their IndyCar Series weekend in June and we had a very high interest level in our products from many of the teams and individuals as well. We think that Port-A-Cool® units could also be very beneficial to these types of racers that work out of their own home garages or have small shops where air conditioning may be impractical."
Port-A-Cool® units are portable, evaporative cooling units offering versatile options for effective cooling where air-conditioning is unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive. Port-A-Cool® units require only tap water and 115v of electricity and perform at a fraction of the cost of air conditioning. They deliver air flow up to 30 degrees F. cooler than surrounding air. Port-A-Cool® units are available in four fan-blade sizes, plus two centrifugal fan models that disburse cooled air over areas up to 4,000 square feet.
The Port-A-Cool® headquarters is located near the Texas/Louisiana border in Center, Texas. For more information on Port-A-Cool® for both commercial and residential use, visit www.port-a-cool.com.
On-track action for the Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship will begin Thursday, Sept. 15, with practice for all three divisions beginning at 6 p.m. CT. The practice session will be closed to the public.
Heats for all three classes will run Friday, Sept. 16, and the championships will be decided Saturday, Sept. 17. Racing will begin at 6 p.m. CT both nights. Grandstand tickets will be $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday. Parking on both nights is free. Fans and competitors can visit www.texasmotorspeedway.com for additional information on the event.

Problem is that it is at "The Dirt Track" at Texas Motor Speedway and they will have yet another great car count - Texas cars - and could care less about any other series. Personally, I will attend any USMTS show possible and since they will be in the state, even better. Just have to miss the 17th for anniversary.
However, your post is "right on." That is why I like the deal with the sprint nationals at Kilgore as they obviously looked at all sprint schedules and picked that weekend.

I'm not taking sides here, just presenting the facts:
This particular 2011 event race date at TMS in question was announced on this forum, and all forums nationally on September 17, 2010.
To back up that statement, here's the direct link:
http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum.cfm?ThreadID=47304
I'm sure David had it up on OklahomaTidbits.com at that time too.
This 2011 calendar date is also the same weekend TMS ran this event in 2010...so it a repeat from last year's date.
Regarding the event you are referencing, when was their race dates announced?

Think he is referring to USMTS as their "Hunt" series of races will be in Northeastern Oklahoma that weekend.

The USMTS schedule had no race scheduled between September 6th through September 22, 2010.
TMS put out their 2011 schedule for this race, at this same race, in September of 2010.
USMTS added this 2-day race in OK to their 2011 schedule at some point in time after TMS announced their race date...the first date I can see is in February of 2011.
Hopefully this will clear up any further confusion on the subject.

OKtidbiters- I don't actually compile the entries for this event, but each of them go through me before they go to the track and I'd say at least 25-30% of the total mod/ltd mod entries are from Oklahoma...so THANK YOU for your continued, strong support of the event!
SEPT. 3 UPDATE:
Although the early registration postmark date for mailing has now passed, online early registrations are still being taken through the Labor Day holiday weekend by clicking: http://www.darinshort.com/dtc.html and completing the two-step registration process.
At the time of writing there are only 15 paved parking spaces left available before it is completely full. So if you want to have your car pitted on asphalt, this is your last chance to get a space.
Thank you to all of the teams that have registered early so that track can process your entries to prepare for your arrival.
It also gives your team two chances to make the championship event through the provisional drawings held for each of the modified and limited modified divisions. Only early registration entries will be considered for those drawings, so don't miss out on the opportunity!
Best of luck to all teams competing at the U.S. National Dirt Track Championship!

Early registration has now closed for this year's Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship (USNDTC) at Texas Motor Speedway's Dirt Track.
Modified and Limited Modified drivers that registered by 9/5/11 will all be eligible for the provisional starter drawings to their respective Championship feature events.
Online registration for all three USNDTC divisions continues at race week pricing through 9/11/11. After that point, online registration will close and you can enter your team upon arrival at the speedway next weekend. Modified and Limited Modified teams that register at this point are not eligible for the provisional starter drawings.
At the time of writing, there is also a handful of paved parking spaces available. If your team needs one, they are available on the registration page until they are fully committed.
The 10-day forecast is now pulling in the USNDTC weekend. The trend of dry and warm appears to be continuing at this point, with highs in the 90's with little to no precip being shown.
Click www.darinshort.com/dtc.html for complete USNDTC event information or to get your team entered.
Thank you to the race teams that have entered early so the track can prepare themselves for your arrival, and best of luck at the Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship!
