Keloland local TV station has great highlights from last week's race. I've heard some things about Winters last year that made we wonder about him. Now after seeing this, I've lost all respect. We'll call him a "mini Sammy."
Austin McCarl spins coming out of turn 4 for the checkers and takes out Dobmeier opening the door for Tmac.

Agreed, pretty foolish. I agree with what Jeff Swindell once said, don't ever use a race car as a weapon. You just never know what could happen. Deal with it in the pits toe to toe, man to man.

It may be old news, but the first I've seen it. I'm just wondering why Winters wasn't shown the black flag for that move? Was pretty blatant to me.... As much as I hate seeing cars torn up, I guess he got his in the end.

Thanks for sharing the clip. Racy track - great action. Man that 13 is pretty good (Dobmeier?). And how did the 23 not get DQ'd for deliberate running over the front of the 51....TWICE!!.........?????
that looks like a really fun and racy track. hopefully I can go there someday. What open wheel specials do they have there annually?

They have World of Outlaws coming up this coming Sunday night and I think there are two All-Stars shows coming up in August. They have these two (or three) shows every year.
Also, keep in mind with the 23 and 51 that the 51 is running a steel headed 360 in the 410 Sprint class. I'm not advocating what happened there in any way but there is no way a steel headed 360 will be competitive in the 410 class. When the 23 went past and they made contact the first time, I think he was putting the 51 a second lap down.

Under green then they were racing, this Winters thing was not under green.

So because Steve Kinser did it under green, maybe intentionally, maybe not, it makes it ok for Winters to do it under caution and take out another car with OBVIOUS INTENT?
If I understand correctly, when racers are under green, they're RACING! I may be wrong though, that's just how I always understood the concept.
BTW I color coded it for you just to make sure that we're on the same page... I'd hate to have a misunderstanding over colors of the flag.

Exactly,under yellow and by the video looked like intentional move by winters, but maybe his faceshield was tinted!!

All it is is typical Winters. That whole family thinks they are gods gift to sprint car racing. If the kid can't move you out of his way, then at the end of the night you will have both his old man and his mommy at your trailer yelling and screaming at you because you didn't move over for their precious son. When I worked at Jackson, every week was nothing but drama with them.

Yep. Their reasoning for allowing it? I'm not real sure. I know last year they were struggling for car count in the 410 class so you probably could have run a 305 and taken home the start money. This year they are getting 16-20 cars so I would think they could restrict a little. But, keep in mind that a good 360 has won the 410 feature on more than one occasion at the track.

With all due respect, maybe the 51 should have been out of the way running the bottom?It was obvious as the video showed that there was no way he was going to catch the guys in front of him let alone winters, dobs, t mac, a mac etc..... Not defending anyone but the racing was going on at the front.... I can see the point on the car count issue but really? The way that track has been this year with the new dirt and the great improvement on track prep, the 360 would have a very hard time with the 410.
