Does anyone know anything about this oil? Have heard from a few people that it does not mix well with methanol and was wearing out rear mains and causing other problems? anyone had any trouble with this product?

The Facts
• Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil #705 SAE 20W-50 is a premium quality multi-grade para-synthetic engine oil that is specially formulated to reduce friction and wear, increase
engine efficiency and extend engine life in all types of gasoline engines including those that contain flat tappet cams and those that are turbocharged or supercharged.
• Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil SAE 20W-50 is blended from the finest quality severely hydrotreated polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluids and severely raffinate
hydroconverted Group II Plus available. This unique combination provides Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil SAE 20W-50 with the following advantages:
• Superior Cold Weather Startability and Operating Characteristics. This results in less friction and lubricant drag in the engine and instant lubrication during cold weather start up.
Superior Oxidative Stability. Any oil as it is increasingly exposed to high temperature operation undergoes the process of oxidation. This results in the oils thickening and the buildup of
acidic components. Because of the PAO’s and 100% paraffin base oil’s uniform molecular structure, the process of oxidation is greatly reduced.
Excellent Resistance to Thermal Degradation.
Lower Volatility. This results in reduced oil consumption.
Lower Pour Point and Borderline Pumping Temperature.
A High Viscosity Index. This results in minimum change in viscosity. The adequate viscosity for the proper lubrication of the engine is provided regardless of temperature.
Excellent Film Strength. This results in increased protection against wear.
Compatibility with All Types of Seals.
Extended Oil Drain Capability and Intervals.
• Blended into the para-synthetic base fluids is a highly specialized performance additive package and a highly shear stable viscosity index improver. This combination provides the
Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil SAE 20W-50 with a number of performance benefits, including superior protection against thermal breakdown, excellent shear stability, reduced
oil consumption, high detergency, and decreased ring, cylinder, and bearing wear.
• Further blended into these synthetic blend base fluids, the highly advanced proprietary performance additive package and shear stability viscosity index improver are two proven
frictional modifiers, Micron Moly®, a liquid soluble type of Moly and Schaeffer Mfg’s own proprietary additive Penetro®. These two proven frictional modifiers once plated, form a long
lasting slippery tenacious lubricant film, which prevents the metal surfaces from coming into contact with each other. By preventing metal-to-metal contact, damaging frictional wear is
prevented from occurring.
• Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil SAE 20W-50 is recommended for use in all 4-cycle air-cooled or water-cooled motorcycle and ATV engines. Supreme 7000 Synthetic Racing Oil SAE
20W-50 can also used in those motorcycles that have a common sump for the engine and transmission.
• Supreme 7000 Synthetic Plus Racing Oil SAE 20W-50 meets and exceeds the following specifications and manufacturers’ requirements: MIL-PRE- 46152E, CID A-A-52039B, API Service
Classification SM, Ford M2C153-G, ESR-M2C127-B, ESR-M2C179A, SSM 29011-A, General Motors, ACEA A1-02, A2-96 Issue 2, A3-02, A5-02; Mercedes Benz 229.1, 229.3, MS9767; JASO JIS
K2215.

Schaeffer Oil VS Joe Gibbs
• We have just received results from a dyno test comparing Schaeffer against Joe Gibbs racing oils.
• This was done by a nationally recognized sprint car engine builder in the northwest this January. The
results speak for themselves and this engine builder is now a Schaeffer convert and selling the oil to all of
his customers. Here are some bottom line #'s. The first column is Joe Gibbs, the second Schaeffer!
• Speed RPM 6250 6250
• C_HP 772 783
• C_TQ 652 662
• Fuel psi 85.1 85.1
• Oil psi 74.7 76.3
• 11 more horsepower
• 10 lbs.more torque
• 2 more psi oil pressure!
• That’s the Schaeffer Advantage at work!

We've ran Schaeffer's in our 305's & 360's for many years without a problem, had the engine freshened at the end of last season and was told the bearings look like new. Keep it changed regularly and have the fuel right on and there shouldn't be a problem.

I'd say that Mr. Edwards is a fan of this oil! Smile We have experienced great results with Valvoline VR1. I guess it is all in what you are looking for. Of course, we don't have a dyno, engine builder, big $$$$, and on and on and on. So I am probably clueless! Our bearings still look like new however, and the inside of the engine is clean and we haven't hurt an engine on VR1, so I take that as success.

If it was my motor, I'd be following my motor builder's recommendations. If he says an oil is OK with him, then you're probably safe with his choice....

I guess that I must have missed something. Oh well, I would tend to agree with Sprinter 25. If the engine builder says it is OK, then I would use it. I just use what the local part store has that has a high Zinc content.

The team I used to work on won a 360 track championship with this oil in a Gaerte 360. We never had an issue with it.

Champion Racing Oil is recommended by many top engine builders and teams. Some of teams using Champion are: Win Tron Racing-ARCA, Chad Kemenah-WoO, Johnny Herrera-ASCS,RW Motorsports-Jerry Coons and Brad Kuhn, Jerrod Hull-Midwest All Stars, Dave Ely-PN Posse, Gary Wright ASCS, Bud Kaeding-USAC and the toughest test of all...Brian Brown-2010 Knoxville Track Champion. These guys raced hundreds of races in 2010 without a oil related engine failure. More importantly, these teams and engine builders have found Champion Racing Oil provides peak performance and reduced engine maintenance costs. Find out more information at www.championsusechampion.com. and join the CHAMPIONS!

We ran Northland race oil last season. When we freshened the motor for the 2011 season everything look like new which saved us money on a rebuild.

I would highly recommend using Northland Oil.

I find it entertaining that the original post asked specifically about Schaeffer oil and what their experience was on it, and it has turned into a thread where everyone's is better and a bunch of off topic comments. It never asked what oil to run, or what kind of oil others had experience with. It just plain asked about Schaeffers oil.

You are 100% correct. I originally commented on how much Mr. Edwards liked this particular oil. I was impressed with the degree to which he tried to answer the question. Why I added anything else, well, I'm not sure. So thanks for pointing that out. My bad! lol Smile

Schaeffers Micron Moly #110 40 or 50 w and Schaeffers #191 15-40 are the best choices of the Schaeffers Oil line-up for methanol. The mineral base stocks used in these works excellently with the methonal.

I have always ran VR oil as well and every year at freshen ups have had like new bearings.

I have changed bearing makers a few times but still with same result.

I currently have 20+ teams running Schaeffer oil products. Martin Edwards is one of them. Schaeffer oil has a couple of different racing oils. Their 5w50 which is marketed as 9001 is a pure synthetic oil and it has been found that it does not mix well with methanol. The 20w50 part number 0191 is made to work well with methanol.

In the four plus years I have been working with drivers, I do not know of one that has had an oil related failure using Schaeffer Oil.

It is accepted as a usable oil at most major racing engine builders.
