First off a disclaimer: I am the Eastern Regional Manager for Schaeffer's Specialized Lubricants so I will reserve my comments specifically to our products. Let me start by saying there are lots of good racing oils in the marketplace today.
A lot depends on personal choice and loyalty to a particular companies product or brand.
A lot of of folks, including a few of our competitors, are using the subject of zinc content to make unsubstantiated claims as how it affects a racing oil's performance. Although our formulations are proprietary, I can assure everyone that our racing oils have more than adequate levels of zinc for flat tappet camshaft racing engines. Schaeffer's also formulates our oils with molybendum disulfide (moly) and Penetro which is a proprietary friction modifier.
I do not know of one engine builder that will not give a favorable recommendation on running Schaeffer in their engines. We have hundreds of race teams around the country running our oils in some of the premier engine builders including Cornett, Pro Power, Clements, Vic Hill, Jay Dickens, Leggett's Engine Research, Bullock, Enders, Malcuit, and Morrison just to name a few.
We also have had the last two World of Outlaws Late Model Rookies of the Year, Russ King and Austin Hubbard, running our products. Some of our current customers are Ray Cook, Jr., Chris Madden, Don O'Neal, Austin Hubbard, Clint Smith, Shannon Babb, Eddie Carrier, Jr., and Scott Bloomquist just to name a few. As of next week we will also have Bub McCool and Tim Fuller using our products.
If anyone has any questions regarding our products, or if I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate in contacting me. Good luck to all the race teams this year regardless of which oil you run!
