Sammy wins the National Open! But during victory lane interview says he is not a full time Outlaw, he's just an "old guy out here racing." So are the posse fanatics going to consider this the end of the streak?
Hahaha - Sammy just said "I beat the crap out of them. They might not like that, but they better get used to it." He is eloquent isn't he

I say the streak is still at 9. A full time WoO driver did not win nor did a Posse member.

He's a 3-time outlaw champion and has raced about 2/3 of the world of outlaw races. He can say he's not an outlaw all he wants, but it doesn't change the fact that he is one. When asked whether the streak was over he said "You tell me, I'm not from around here." The streak ENDS at 9.

Hell yes, redemption is right! Knoxville is one he'll never forget, but this was a good one against a tough field (not Knoxville Nationals tough, but still a strong group to beat). Anyone who thinks this streak is still alive, has an awful case of wishful thinking! Still a very impressive streak for the posse, not sure it'll ever be duplicated. Way to go SAMMY!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes the "Old Guys" can still whip all those drivers who are "still in their prime"!!!

So glad to see the streak finally broken. The amount of cockiness in the stands this weekend was brutal. Sammy was due a big win.

The Posse fans deserve the right to be downright cocky about the streak their drivers put together... very impressive. Unprecedented in fact.
Sammy isn't Posse. Simple fact. He doesn't run weekly at the Grove. Streak is over. Done.
A WoO regular didn't win the race.. but he's as close as it gets. So what if he skips some of the 5,000 mile 1 race roadtrips that the WoO schedule has. Big deal.
Nice work by a team to be reckoned with. Sure hope they make a run at the WoO title next year. They might make it interesting.
Call him whatever you want... the old man can still turn a wheel.

Swindell is NOT posse, never has been, never will be. In fact the guy is such an asshole you would be hard pressed to find someone in Germantown, TN that even likes him and they too would probably have the last name Swindell if they did. The streak is over ...
However think about this all of you out there bashing central PA and the posse, they have outlasted the downturn, they have outlasted almost every other local area of 410 racing in the country while your overpriced "Outlaws" have brought corporate greed and systematically dismantled just about every area of local racing and damn near every touring division with exception of the All Stars (can they still be called a touring division when they bring 5 cars to a sanctioned All Star event?). Is this what you truly want? do you want sprint car 410 racing to be dead everywhere except for this one touring national division? It damn sure sounds like it the way most of you talk, somehow PA has managed to still survive with full fields week in and week out with 3 full time 410 tracks and numerous other part time tracks running special shows throughout the year. Talk to someone in Texas, California or The Dakotas about their 410 racing, I bet they aren't huge Outlaw fans? maybe those of you that support the Outlaws so vehemently never had "local" racers/neighbors that enjoy their hobbies and make a little money on the side to feed their families too or is it jealousy out there that the central PA teams accomplish something your local cannot??

"We never touched our race car the whole night," shared Dewease. "From the time we unloaded it, we just made a couple of minor adjustments. I thought I had a good enough car and after that red I felt like I had a car that was capable of winning the race. We made up a lot of ground on Sammy (Swindell) the last three or four laps and definitely had a good car."
"We had a real good race car the whole time," stated Dewease. "That last red (flag) the tires cooled off too much and we lost too much air. It just took me about five laps to get going again, but we had a good car. I can't complain about it. We were just one lap too short."

I think the main thing wrong with Sammy is that he dosen't have time for stupid people and that would clear up a lot of things about you and your opinion of him.
If you can not enjoy watching an old man schooling the kids how to do it you can not be a fan of racing.
You were not at the nationals were you. Listen to the tape and I think you will find he had a few fans.
I agree about greed and lets keep all the people that have money out and let us poor people race and by the way I want to get in free because I do not want anyone to make money putting on a race.
Racing is the only thing that has gotten expensive nothing else has not gotten expensive right
