This is why I, as a Canadian, will travel to a regular PA sprint car race rather than any WOO show.

Too much hype, smoke in mirrors with this organization.

Truly does remind me a bit of NasCrap.

what happened to SINGLE LAP TIME TRIALS for more than 40 CARS?

why are DOUBLE FILE RESTARTS SUSPENDED during the B MAIN when a DOUBLE FILE RESTART DOES NOT GET A LAP IN?

SELECTIVE APPLICATION of RESTARTS BECAUSE "SOMEONE JUMPED" BACK IN THE FIELD!

the greatest show of hype failed to fill the backstretch VIP reserved seat section once again and the SWEEP STEAK IS STILL ALIVE!

i think the PA dominance is home field advantage. a neutral field like knoxville shows that. how many PA guys have won the nationals in the last 20 years? not trashing them, but the WOO is not to be sneezed at. They just run into VERY good drivers who are very familiar with there PA tracks. But at the end of the nationals, not many PA guys to be found in the top 10. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. On the other hand, i would do anything to live near some of the tracks the PA posse live on, so i could see these guys all the time! (i live in a sprint car dead zone)

As far as taking away the double file restart after failed attempts, this is nothing i havent seen before from my local dirt track. Usually happens after about 3 failed attempts. (mostly because my sucky track has a curfew of 10:00 and they are in a hurry!)

Their "rules" just fueled the fire that exploded when Hodnett came back through the field. But...you can tell, the WoO is getting close to ending this streak.

The Outlaws as a group have been overrated for a while. Schatz has been their only real hope around here. Now that he's lost a step Posse domination is no coincidence.

Just as with anything else, if you don't like the product, don't buy it! But the WoO boys have won over 95% of the races run this year, regardless of the track. I'll prefer to let the results speak for themselves...

So the Posse won at the Grove? Good for them, as others have noted, put them on a neutral ground, and then we'll see who wins.....my money is on the WoO boys....

The open red fuel stop killed it. It let Hodnett adjust on his car. Otherwise he was going backward, fast! Congrats to Hodnett. Well done.

Time to put on the larger tanks and/or shorten the race.

Everytime at the Grove it's just one Posse car that does it.

The Grove is one of the few places, and maybe the only place where the WoO is not virtually guaranteed a top 15 A-main finish unless they break. To me its a combination of a unique racetrack and a high level of weekly competition.

I like seeing the A-main with some different names at the top rather than the locals in the usual 15th to 20th spots.

I wish Knoxville was more like that, but the big sweeping turns do not make for much of an advantage for the locals.

Other way around, seems like there WAS only one Outlaw car that could get it done. Until Schatz/Warner and J&J figure out the new rules package it'll be slim pickin's. Hodnett, Dewease, Stevie Smith, Layton, Leppo, Rahmer from 24th....take your pick on our side. We have a whole arsenal of Outlaw killers. The circus has a one trick pony and he's gone gimp. Outlaw point leader Saldana and the rest of the KKR crew consider it a good day to just not have to use a provisional. Which is a good thing because now Schatz needs them. And Kinser can't even pull a slider anymore without smacking the wall. He might be able to still feel his way around Eldora and get away with it, but the Grove took him down for the count.

I love to see the locals do well no matter where the WoO schedule is.

My loyalty is with Saldana, but don't think for a minute that I will drown

my sorrows in a cold one because Hodnett/Rahmer etc took the checkers.

Local drivers doing well only makes the sport more exciting and as always helps

to put butts on the lumber/aluminum.

Kasey Kahne faithful were out in droves at the Grove, saw more Bud shirts than anything. Kahne and Stewart's involvement with the WoO is one of their biggest selling points. Grove used fireworks nicely as well, was definitely an event. Everyone cheering when Schatz crashed out of 9th in the B was also a special touch. Kicking the Outlaws ass? Priceless......

How is Knoxville considered a neutral field?

Look at how many times Kinser has run at Knoxville compared to a Posse member.

Knoxville is definately home track advantage for the Outlaws when you compare them with the Posse.

Home field advantage undoubtedly plays a role but even still, 8 in a row is very impressive.

Cheering when a driver crashes is probably the most ignorant thing a fan can do, no matter who the driver.

I guess you've never been to a NASCAR race that seats hundreds of thousands then? Show business or no business. Lasoski family feud is still one of the more memorable Knoxville Nationals in recent memory. It's human nature.

sorry, what i meant by neutral field is somewhere that neither the outlaws nor posse run week in week out. anywhere on the outlaws schedule for that matter. all i am saying is, bring the posse out of PA and put them on the same tracks the outlaws run on once or twice a year and you will see WOO domination. dont get me wrong, the underdog winning is awesome and i loved the race last year when Hodnett held off Shatz for the entire race at the grove (i think it was at the grove?). I'm just saying, not going to get the same results going to a neutral track where they dont run every week. that's proven as they travel the country. Knoxville wasnt the best example, but you wont see kinser running there every saturday night from May to September. if a PA member would win the nationals this year, that would be awesome! but WOO will most likely win it again.

I'm not into Nascar, maybe they cheer for wrecks because the racing is so boring. Last year a guy in our section cheered when Layton crashed. Lets just say I don't think he'll be cheering when someone wrecks anymore.

The reason Kinser has ran so many more times than a Posse member is because he has been racing for FOUR decades.

Another reason Kinser (and other longtime Outlaws) have more races at Knoxville is because there's a fair representation of Posse that won't travel to Iowa in August. While I appreciate those who do make the journey to the Nationals, it's still disappointing when some of the best drivers from Central PA stay anchored at home.

Like it or not, the Knoxville Nationals are the pinnacle of our sport, anyone who's anyone in winged sprint car racing should want to be there.

I won't sneeze at the streak. Defending home turf is something very few other regions can do even once, much less 8 times in a row. But that said, it's always easier to win at home than on the road.

Is this heaven?
No, it's Iowa....Knoxville, Iowa.

That's because Layton is Posse. When Schatz crashes there is dancing in the bleachers. The rogue fan who defends him would most likely be pummeled with beer cans instead...lol.

What are the big money Posse teams that stay "anchored at home?" Rahmer, Dewease, Hodnett, Stevie Smith, the Keen No. 17 car all go to the Nationals. The big money Posse teams of past years are gone, and have been gone for several years now. I know everyone on Hoseheads believes that race teams have an unlimited budget and should race solely for glory, but 2,000 mile round trips aren't in the budgets of most of the local teams around here.

It's not like teams and drivers don't go to the Nationals solely because they choose not to go. Look at a guy like Doug Esh. He has been a top 410 driver in PA for several years now, and the only reason he got to the Nationals severals years ago was because his team picked up additonal financial support to help pay the cost of the trip.

Mike Erdley isn't the best racer in Pennsylvania, but he is a solid racer. When he went to Knoxville several years back, he said he could have raced half the season on what he spent on that one trip. That is in no way a knock on the amazing purse that the Nationals pays, but it costs a ton of money to race that week as well.

These threads are always a kick the way people go out of their way to dismiss and belittle any local team that actually has the nerve to run well against the Outlaws. LOL
