I realize this board is more or less about hyping up/tearing down whether it be WoO, Posse, Knoxville, McCarl etc... and not really about reasonable observations, but here are a few attempted reasonable observations from me.

- I know it's to stir the sh*t, but the Outlaws taking 3 of the top 4 both nights can hardly be called a Posse a** whooping. Certainly not like the May and July races of last year. Also, to far less hoopla on this board, Dale Blaney (1) and Brooke Tatnell (2) are 'locals' who beat the Outlaws this year. That's 7 times a non-regular has beaten them in about 40 races.

- Without the open red, Hodnett likely finishes out of the top 10 last night. But without open reds, Steve Kinser doesn't have 550+ WoO wins either. I can't count the amount of times Karl Kinser took a 3rd place car and turned it into a rocket after an open red. Can't discount how fast he was at the end just because he was helped by the open red.

- Why the hell don't the Posse (not all of them, but the bigger budget teams) travel to Virginia, or Lebanon Valley after the Grove races? Racing for $3k versus $10k makes no sense to me. Never been adequately explained, it's not points, and it's not for lack of money.

- This weekend was the worst run Outlaw show in recent memory. B Main fuel stops, A Mains getting over around 11 45, countless restarts for questionable jumping the start penalties. I hope it's a better program in October.

Jim and Sandy Kline are working people. They can't just traipse around the country following the circus, they have a business to run just like most local PA car owners. I'm sure Hodnett makes more money racing around here without the travel expenses as well. WoO is corporate NASCAR racing not blue collar. 8-0 baby, and it ain't because of open redswink

Cubes, the irrefutable point he is trying to make, is that the Posse (short of Stevie getting a 3rd last yr, and is a guy from Broken Arrow, OK who runs just as many All Star races as PA races really Posse?) while having some success in prelims in years past, ALWAYS go to the back when the money is on the line on Saturday. This doesn't diminish the Grove success, but it does put it in perspective, and totally refutes your 'World of Also Ran' nonsense. Every Posse driver calls the Outlaws 'the best in the business' and rightly so.

Keep saying it and the Posse will keep racking up wins and top finishes at Knoxville even though they race there less than 100 other cars. The Posse has more wins at Knoxville than the Knoxville regulars.

Just stop arguing with him. He can't be convinced...and please don't make an assumption that all PA people are like this.

The Posse only comes in there once a year. Rahmer won in 2005 and 2006, Shepard in 2007, and Stevie got a 3rd last year. What has the local Knoxville contingent done at the Nationals since we're such one track wonders?

I agree that cubic is going a bit overboard about this Posse "dominance" and the fact Schatz is the only one that is a threat.

Truth behind the 8-race winning streak:

Podium Finishes (top 3): Posse - 13, WoO - 11

Top Five Finishes: Posse - 20, WoO - 20

Then consider the Posse dominated the two early events in '09 picking up 8 of the 10 possible top five spots and reality starts kicking in a bit.

Last 6 races in the streak:

Podium Finishes: WoO - 10, Posse - 8

Top Five Finishes: WoO - 18, Posse - 12

I hand it to the Posse for the 8-race winning streak; that is impressive and it is tough to beat the WoO boys 8 times in a row; consider the fact the Posse has never done it. But lets not make this more than it is. The Posse is hardly dominating the "Circus" over the period of the streak and Schatz is certainly not the only threat to beat the Posse.

By the way, the "Circus" currently has a 6-race streak of placing more drivers in the top five than the Posse.

I guess I'll throw my two cents in.

I'm a sprint car driver that gets to race at the most 10 races a year. So, basically every time I get into the car and on the track, the feeling is very foreign. It takes a while to adjust to the speed, jerkyness, and the track.

I rarely get to race at the same track more than once, but when I do, I feel so much more comfortable in the car and on the track, and my results prove that.

After saying that, the more I race at one track, the less admiration I have for racers who get to race at the race track every week. The Posse should be great at the Grove. They race their every damn week. Their cars are just as good as the Outlaws. They won at the Grove, big deal. Everyone of them should have lapped the entire Outlaw gang.

Thats why I admire the Outlaws so much more. And I've always said, if Schatz or Kinser would have been born in PA, no one would have ever of heard of Dewease and Rahmer.

And the more impressive stat about last nights race: the Top 4 were born in TN.... Too bad the Memphis Mafia's gang chat on the Midsouth Forum, than this one. I'm pretty sure they might have some interesting things to say about last nights race...

If Kinser and Schatz would have raced here I'm sure they would win their share but if Rahmer and Dewease had raced on the road with the WOO they would have been successful too. A good driver is a good driver no matter where or what series they race with. One thing you're ignoring is the fact that the WOO races at the grove 6 times a year and it used to be more than that so most of the drivers have plenty of experience there. Fred had never seen Tulare until this year and pulled off a 3rd against the WOO. Lance had never seen Bulls Gap until ths year and pulled off a 2nd. BTW McMahon is originally from CA not Memphis.

I can't understand it. Doug Esh never ran Lebanon Valley before. The mighty WOO should have lapped him easily. LOL

LMAO! I'm sure the WoO teams have a detailed database of Lebanon Valley, NY! Smile Congrats to Esh; always a big upset to knock off the Outlaws.

This Posse vs the Outlaws thing is getting a little old. You PA guys need to stop tounging the Posse chocolate starfish.

Its been said time and time again that the Posse don't travel because of budget. Well if they were that good they could travel and race on the winnings alone.

While we are at it. Get those PA guys to the Nationals with no excuses. There are more Aussie PAussie racing the Nationals than PA Posse. Get your balls out of your pockets and come play.

MEEEOW!

There are lugnuts on both sides of the Posse v Outlaw nonsense. As a Posse fan I enjoy when the travelers come to our neck of the woods, to me it's a friendly rivalry. Certainly makes for a great atmosphere and puts a ton of butts in the seats. Great visiting the pits and talking with the travelers, much respect for those who live on the road for the sport I love. I root for Posse but give props to all who strap in. Congrats to Lance, Greg and Doug. Looking forward to the WG National Open already.

Thanks for the jam session Johnny...good stuff. Good luck with the "first guitar I probably ever put my hands on".

WAIT, but Esh wasn't posse. He wasn't in a posse ride! That's how it works, right?

Just a question, who was the last Knoxville regular to venture to Williams Grove for a National Open and where did they finish?

You would think this argument would have fizzled out what, 10 years ago? I like sprint car racing no matter where it is, but to say the WoO is not the cream of the crop, is crazy. It's great that the locals in PA can win on those tracks -- the fans there love it. But the Posse simply doesn't do it anywhere else against the WoO. I saw both DeWease and Rahmer run with the WoO this spring in Texas and they had nothing for the WoO. And that's the case every year at nationals and on just about any track outside of PA. Yes, there are exceptions here and there, but not enough that we can say the Posse is better on anything close to a regular basis. If the Posse got out and turned as many laps on as many different tracks as the Outlaws, I am sure a number of them could rise to that level. But that simply isn't the case. So the PA fans should take a lot of pride in holding serve on the home track. But the comparisons that go beyond those tracks simply don't make any sense.
