Take a look at these links. A little tough to swallow. I guess the end is near.

You know we tried and I think the guy running against Tricky Mick would have at least listened to us. At least I thought so in the conversations I had with him.

If you look at one topic down, they are putting out bids for the demolition of the Grand Stands. Their estimated cost is $300K.

They are not waiting around. Starting in Aug and hope to be done by Sept of this year.

I will supply all the eggs we need if somebody will supply the good, throwing rocks and the bail or fine money for about 100 people.

Yea it is a done deal. The Grandstand will be gone before the start of the Great State Fair of Oklahoma in 2010. (September)
At-least in the City Council proposal allowed for lighting, score boards, seating and furniture to be inventoried and stored for a future racing facility.

I'd just like a brick from the grandstands. Maybe something else.

Good point, I got back the Souvenir T-Shirt sign that I hand lettered and installed above the pay window nearly 20 "tears" (years) ago. I will make a call tomorrow and see if they will save at-least some of the bricks for all of us racers to come by and pick-up.
It was made pretty clear to me that they do not want unauthorised people on the grounds just taking what they want.
But since it is scheduled for demolishing and allot of us want a peice of History I think they may work with us on that.

The wood bench (part of it), right above the tunnel on the north end where I had sat since 1983 - I want it and a brick.
