Steve Kinser and Quaker State Return to the World of Outlaws Seeking Record 21st Championship
Q Motor Oil to Help Power Kinser in 2007

Bloomington, Ind., November 17, 2006 ? Steve Kinser and Quaker State, through its Q brand, is pleased to announce the relationship will continue in 2007 as Steve Kinser Racing returns to the World of Outlaws.

"The World of Outlaws with their new leadership, expanded schedule and new ESPN and SPEED TV deals have really positioned sprint car racing for growth," said David Lerch, Director of Motorsports for Q.? "Steve Kinser, Q and the World of Outlaws belong together and we are pleased to continue our partnership with Steve as he competes for his 21st World of Outlaws title."

Kinser, among the original World of Outlaws drivers when the series began in 1978, owns a record 533 victories and 20 championships.? He was enshrined in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2005.? Kinser has been in partnership with Quaker State and Q since forming Steve Kinser Racing in 1995.

?Many things contribute to a winning team, and having Q to help keep our engines running at maximum power under the grueling conditions of sprint car racing will be a tremendous benefit,? said Steve Kinser.? ?The long-term backing of Quaker State and Maxim Chassis has been a great asset to our team, and we look forward to chasing another World of Outlaws title with them in 2007.?

The dominos have started to fall! It won't be long now. I look for several more announcements soon. Should be interesting to see how DIRT handles this influx of NST teams. They only have 2-3 spots left for 2007.

Could they go to 20 full-time teams with four "outsiders" or "locals" challenging for the final four spots? You could guarentee twenty drivers at every race but that doesnt necessarily mean they would all make the feature each night.

Just a random thought.

Now the value of the ticket might be worth the price!

Hey Hawker and BRR, how do you say crawl? It sure is a shame how the Outlaws let the turkeys return when they should have to earn a spot.

hmmm...reckon Quaker State threatening to pull sponsorship might have had something to do with it?  Run with a series your name has been associated with for what seems like forever and we'll continue to give you money or.... well , draw your own conclusions.

Florida should be fun!

will WoO tickets be worth face value now?

can 2 drivers erase the financial trainwreck?

doubt it on both...but at least now the WoO should be able to qualify more than 4 CARS for the A MAIN here on POSSE SOIL!

Just a matter of time? I think the NST's time came and went... Seems as if the "NST" has the "United Sprint Association" diesease. Just like back in '89 with the "USA," the NST had a lot of there core drivers running WoO shows to stay a float. All alleigences aside. It all comes down to being able to make a living racing full time, and with the "NST" unless you have a lot put aside, you'll starve..

Angel1, most of the people on the WoO trail this year were the ones who never had to earn a spot. If this all comes to an end...This year they will. I say if all the NST guys come back, just cause those 16 signed contracts doesn't mean all of them will ever finish in money. I for one don't really see Becca finishing in the top 20 in points if they have 21 full time drivers.

Good news for DIRT, bad news for the many in the "Mean 15". It will make the * a little more prominant now that the pond just got bigger. Several of the "Mean 15" had a tough enough time making an "A" main in 2006, I can only imagine how tough it will be for them in 2007. But as a guess, there will be no change in the financials.

Hats off. I'm glad Kinser isn't retiring. I'm glad he's running for the WoO championship next year. No one wanted to see the greatest sprint car driver of all time go out on such a note. It would have just been more sad news for the sport. He's had one heck of a year. A whole winter of turmoil with the NSL and NST being formed. Got knocked out in the IROC car at Daytona. Hurt his back for half the season when he ran over the 360 at Tulare I believe. Mr Brownfield passed on. Also, a lot of other stuff behind the scenes I'm sure. I'm also glad Kraig got re-signed for the truck deal next year. No one can doubt Steve Kinser's determination, through it all he even beat Kaeding in the NST points.

Hopefully all the top drivers running against each other again, the Outlaw's TV package, and the Unified Sprint Car Summit will give the 410s a good run at ASCS and the late models once again. Things are looking up for the World of Outlaws. They have gained a tremendous amount of respect having withstood both the National SprintCar League and the National Sprint Tour. Hopefully a series sponsor is right around the corner.

I am guessing the big 'Q' had a lot to do with this.

Personally, I am glad to see this happen, Steve belongs with the WoO for when he starts to talk about his retirement tour. (Probably not this year, but not too far off).

Cubic - You make me want to puke, you've been dogging Kinser for a year, please decide how you REALLY feel about him.

Duane - Spin? I have $50 that says that Donny will not win the championship in 2007.

I have a thousand (dollars) that says S. Kinser DOESN'T win the title in 2007.

I'll be glad to put mine up in cash before Dec. 31 (you do the same) and let a neutral party hold it. Duane Davis would be fine with me for the "holdee"

I've disagreed with nearly every move he's made this past year but I've never wanted him to retire... I have always hoped he would return to run for the full World of Outlaw championship. I've said numerous times it will all be water under the bridge once they straighten up... It's now water under the bridge.
