Come on America, enough is enough. The guy has a comedy/satire show and he makes fun, takes shots at and generally goofs around and the media is treating him like he should be drawn and quartered, sheesh! Al Sharpton with his past has the audacity to demand he be fired, what a hypocrite! Has/Is not being politically correct come to this? I think an old phrase from a pretty well known book makes the most sense here; "Let ye' who has not sinned cast the first stone". Take It Easy...
PS Don always struck me as the kinda guy that would like sprint car racing, he would certainly fit in more with our crowd than the NASCAR cronies....

way too many PC people in this world.
MLK would roll over in his grave if he knew how Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have acted, claiming to be following the goals of the late Dr. King.

Never really got into Imus at all. He is one of those people that I just never understood why he was so popular. I have tried listening to him many times to see if I could find him as entertaining as a lot of people do, and I always find myself wanting to change the station after about 10 minutes. Given a choice between Limbaugh, Stern or Imus, I would even have to put Imus third on that list. And I'm not a huge fan of the other two. LOL

I agree with you singlefile. I get a ton of US stations up here on my dish and MSNBC isn't one of them. I just hate the PILING ON that is happening right now, literally. I have the Rutgers news conference on right now and you would have thought IMUS murdered half the team with what is being said, unfrigginbelievable. It is more of the inferiority complex that Rutgers has after being trounced by Tennessee, dressed in white, lead by a white coach methinks. It's okay for all the crap that rap speaks where those expressions are everyday but let a white guy say it in jest and it's time for a crucifixion. enough is enough. Take It Easy....
PS Don IMUS was the first man on TV to bring up the lack of effort to help those in New Orleans and he also questioned whether it was race related, doesn't sound like something a racist or bigot would do....

finally we agree on something...now dont go changing your mind for dramatic effect!
IMUS has the best ratings of any show on that miserable network...Chris Matthews and Olbermann have less viewers nationally than most small cities. dismal performance in the Neilsen ratings every week.
MSNBC would be out of business if were not subsidized by Bill Gates and the crappy operating system on nearly every PC on the planet.

I figured that "Deal or No Deal" reruns were their "poster child" for highest rated shows on MSNBC.

Mike, I totally agree with you. America no longer has a sense of humor or, apparently, any tolerance for anyone who does. I am not a fan of Don Imus and feel much like singlefile, but I will defend his right to say whatever he wants. Personally I don't like the use of the word "ho's" by Imus or anyone else, but thats my problem and I would never call out anyone for using it.
I'm sure you remember well Mike that back when we were kids if somebody said something that upset us we were told to "get over it" or were reminded of the old sticks and stones saying. I have my opinions on people such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson but here is not the proper place to express them. I will say however that they have a heck of a lot more to apologize for than Don Imus does.
On another note. I hope you are well and are enjoying this time in your life. I am beginning to gather donations for my dad's memorial race which this year is Saturday. June 2nd. Each year it seems more difficult to acquire contributions. This will be the eighth year, but may be my last. I want to thank you for all you have done in the past and I will never forget your assistance.
I hope our paths cross someday. You take good care of yourself and your loved ones. Take it easy.

Whoa now Drak, I responded the way the way that I did when I perceived a public back stabbing. I also responded privately and blew off some steam, then you took it public, AGAIN, sheesh. At a time when things were hopefully gonna change (with the new format) with the radicals in this forum you chose to keep the fires stoked. By the way, I am way over that and everything that has transpired in between.
BRR, we agree on most things, we always have and we had fun together rattlin' cages of those nearby. When you decided the Posse thing was more important then our friendship and only then, things changed. I took heat defending you often in this forum and would do the same again, you know that.
Steve, (Pete's kid) I would only be honored again to donate some of my work to that special cause of your Father. I only wish more people knew the story behind this amazing man, it is something that needs to be shared and maybe right now you will do so, please! You and Mark know the real story behind this whole Posse debate as do many others in this forum, I hate where it has gone over the years and can't wait for the day it's over. Send me that addy and check your mail, Take It Easy...
PS Dramatic effect, lol, nobody shoots from the hip/lip in a straighter line than I do/have, not ever gonna change either and you know that....
PPS I will be adding MSNBC to my channels when his two weeks in the sinbin is served, providing he is not fired which just might happen, arghhhh....

So would it have been more politically correct to refer to them as "Women of the world's oldest profession with hair folicles resembling the shag carpet in a 82 Buick"?

Perception is subjective. I'm over it, and will never let it happen again, rest assured........just pointing out your double standard Mikey.
