Fremont has a Speedweek date and possibly a fall date may be added. Sharon is still up in the air but we are trying to add something there as well.

How many teams are going to make all of those dates? Sure seems like alot of travel for the budgets of alot of the teams that usually follow this series. So much for bringing the series back to its roots. Wish them the best, but it sure looks as if the decline of the AllStars will continue in 07.

You obviously have not looked at any of the schedules of the series from the last decade. There is less travel planned for '07 than in many years past. Racing at the same 5 tracks all season long in Ohio went out the window 20 years ago. Decline of the series continues? We'll see about that.

Just for fun here are the last 3 schedules from when Bert ran the series.

Two nights scheduled at "The Ditch" in West Memphis. That should be interesting. Also I have noted that the track has also scheduled a WoO date but not a single ASCS race to be found.

And I know this is a stupid question and nothing against anybody but, where is Scott Hall and when/why is he no longer with the All-Stars?

After looking at the schedule compared to the ones you posted as comparrison, I guess the reason I get the feeling the AllStars are "declining" is that the schedules have shortened over the years and they are racing less here in Ohio. Like I said, I wish them the best and will still support them. I just wish they ran more dates here in Ohio.

Any kind of line-up as to who plans to follow the series full-time this year?

Thanks

That certainly sounds better than your original post!!!

Yes it is a bit shorter and the series is undergoing a bit of "rebuilding" to re-establish itself. Last year was tough. The Xplex, the NSL/NST, the co-sanctions, and mother nature were all major factors in our "shortened" season. Things look much better for us this year and hopefully next year more dates will be added. A 50 race schedule is a reasonable goal for 2008. Guy is still working on a few more for '07. A lot hinges on track promoters and their budgets. It is our job to help them have a successful night every time we visit and we are improving on ways to do this. Last year we had a lot of great shows and the crowds were good. Our races were always exciting and action packed. We'll continue that and build on it in '07. I think with the drivers planning to run with us this year we will have a great season.

Greg Wilson, Danny Smith, Dale Blaney, Brandon Martin, Brock Mayes, Craig Mintz, Brian Paulus, Tiffany Wyzard, Paul May, Butch Schroeder.

Then there are some guys I have talked to in recent weeks who may join or return to the series full time or at least most of the time. I will name those at a later date when we confirm some things. I think there might be a few surprises.

Hi David - I decided I needed a break after almost 15 years with the All Stars. I'll still be freelancing for NSSN this year. For the money I still think the Ascoc still puts on one of the best shows around.

O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions Release 2007 Schedule

(CAMARGO, IL) 2-22-07With the first three events of the 2007 racing season already in the record books, the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions is looking ahead to the rest of the season when the series returns to Attica Raceway Park on April 6th and 7th for the Coors Light Attica Spring Nationals. This event has traditionally been one of the more heavily anticipated events in early season sprint car racing with high car counts and even higher competition levels as the All Stars enter hostile territory to compete against the tough Ohio locals. This will set the tone for the All Star’s 2007 campaign around the Ohio region and across the Midwest.

The 2007 list of events includes many of the venues that the series has visited in the past and a few that the All Stars have not competed on in quite some time.In addition, the series will visit Southern Raceway in Pensacola, FL and Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, IL for the very first time in 2007.

Though the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions maintains a healthy relationship with the World of Outlaws organization, there will be a limited number of co-sanctioned events in 2007.The “Brad Doty Classic” at Limaland Motorsports Park, the “Knight Before The Kings Royal”, and the “Kings Royal” events at Eldora Speedway will all be run in conjunction with the World of Outlaws, once again bringing the nation’s two longest running 410 winged sprint car organizations back together again on one track.

As always, the premier event on the All Star schedule is “Ohio Sprint Speedweek” – the original sprint speedweek dating back 25 years. This season there will be added incentive for the Silver Anniversary event.A $15,000 point fund will be distributed at the end of the week and a $50,000 bonus is up for grabs to the driver who can win 4 of the 7 events.More details will be released in the near future.

“Thunder Through the Plains” returns once again in August following the Knoxville Nationals. This is a week of events that series president Guy Webb has been working to revive in order to bring the All Star brand to fans further west. The series will thunder through Mayetta and Hays, KS and end up in West Memphis, AR at the newly renovated Riverside Speedway on “Elvis Days” weekend.

"The “Hoosier Fall Classic” returns to Lawrenceburg Speedway in September as the season winds down once again. New promoter Dave Rudisell has been working hard to re-surface the 1/4 mile bullring in time for the start of the 2007 season. RPM Productions recognized the importance of the “Hoosier Fall Classic” event to the fans and welcomes the All Stars back in 2007."

The complete schedule listing is below with some dates still listed as “TBA”.Those should be resolved in the coming weeks and one or two additional dates may be added. For more info visit www.allstarsprint.com

I'm not an expert, but I would think those Kansas races won't pull more than about 18 cars.......and that is if other track like Huset's, Knoxville, or wherever else ISN'T running. ASCoC will have Hays, Kansas BEGGING for ASCS.............or at least an NCRA/ASCS co-sanctioned race.

The week after the Nationals is a very good time to run 410's with the All-Stars and the "Thunder Through the Plains" series. Knoxville takes that week off, Huset's runs on Sunday. I don't think anything else is scheduled for that week in the area.

Drivers and teams are always talking about needing to race for higher paying races in the area with a chance to do well...well, $5000 to win and just about everyone has a chance, from the local to the traveller who may want to get in a couple more races before heading home from Knoxville.

Last year, Mayetta had a great crowd but just 18-19 cars because of a competing NST race in Nebraska on the same night. That won't happen this time. I'd look for closer to 30 cars for the two or three dates in Kansas this season.

This is an opportunity to expand 410 winged racing in the Midwest. It should draw well (as I said, Mayetta had a great crowd last year) and provide an opportunity to run for some pretty good money. What more could you want?

Thanks, John. You took the words right out of my keyboard! I see those races doing well - and the TBA mid-week is hinging on a few things right now and we expect to know more on that a bit further into the season. It would be another Kansas race.

Don't sweat it David "The Ditch" didn't host any ASCS races last year either just two or three USCS races. I don't think they wanted to pay the boosted sanctioning fees for the ASCoT tour.

Clayton Allen at Riverside is a big proponent of sprint car racing, particularly 410's and it's going to be great having the these two series returning to one of the historical cradles of the sport.
