I'm putting my bets down now on Ricky Stenhouse Jr as a favorite to sweep the All Star weekend on his home track. After seeing what he was capable on tracks he's never been to I'm thinking he will have two great weekends when both the Outlaws and the All Stars visit.

Clayton Allen at Riverside is a big proponent of sprint car racing, particularly 410's and it's going to be great having the these two series returning to one of the historical cradles of the sport.

I went down there my first time in Sept. of 2002 to watch an ASCS race and I've attended one race each year since then, so I consider myself pretty green with understanding and knowing the history of the place. I brought my dad along with me in 04 and it was his first time there in like 20 years. I can't help but feel that "The Ditch" has kind of become a forgotten place since that last great 410 race in 89 and I'm glad that someone like Mr. Allen has stepped up to try to put the place back on the map.

I couldn't agree more Petey. It was my home track from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. This area use to be a hotbed for sprint cars. Many top notch drivers cut their teeth at this track. I live about 6hrs. away, but I make it a point to attend races there every year. I would love to see 410 racing become a mainstay there again.

That 50K bonus for 4 wins during speedweek could be an interesting move. Should draw some more teams in for the week. Good idea. Hadn't heard that one yet. With two new tracks on the slate, this may just be the year I'll try and hit 'em all.

Swamp,

Dont get your hopes up of Stenhouse even racing those weekends at Riverside. I saw USAC is in Newton, IA 5/5 & the Silver Crown dirt cars (in which he ran at Manzy earlier this month) is at Springfield, IL the weekend of 8/18.

If he races as good as he did last year. I see him running USAC alot, and not in his own car either. We'll have to wait and see.

Im going to try and get to 4 Speedweek races since I'm only 1 hr from 3 of the tracks and Eldora beeing on a Saturday.

Based on what Ricky said on The Full Throttle Racing Show two weeks ago, I would think he's looking forward to the Riverside races. Isn't the Springfield race an afternoon show? Maybe he'll try to pull a double and get down to Riverside in the evening.

I just can't see him missing Riverside...The WoO and ASCoC races are the biggest thing to hit Memphis area dirt track racing in nearly twenty years...besides, Clayton Allen does Ricky's tee-shirts, I believe.

The week after the Nationals is a very good time to run 410's with the All-Stars and the "Thunder Through the Plains" series. Knoxville takes that week off, Huset's runs on Sunday. I don't think anything else is scheduled for that week in the area.

Drivers and teams are always talking about needing to race for higher paying races in the area with a chance to do well...well, $5000 to win and just about everyone has a chance, from the local to the traveller who may want to get in a couple more races before heading home from Knoxville.

Last year, Mayetta had a great crowd but just 18-19 cars because of a competing NST race in Nebraska on the same night. That won't happen this time. I'd look for closer to 30 cars for the two or three dates in Kansas this season.

This is an opportunity to expand 410 winged racing in the Midwest. It should draw well (as I said, Mayetta had a great crowd last year) and provide an opportunity to run for some pretty good money. What more could you want?

sounds great. Now if only we could get 410's about 200 miles south Mayetta.
