CAUTION!! Heads up to any one heading to Hanford for the 2 night show, I feel you should be warned.

I drove to Kings Speedway for a big night of racing it had been a month or to since last there. Heard that there was a problem with a couple of checks not clearing from the last race?

The 1st thing I noticed was the very low wing car count 10. 2nd I went to the drivers meeting where I thought I was in a second grade class. The guy running the meeting was talking donw and disrespecting the drivers... What qualifies him to be so disrespectful. The officals complained about driving on the infield something about pictures of the past and if you get caught this time you will go back 2 spots,by officals judgment. So they put cones on the burm to keep the cars off???? Cones?? The track went to crap after hot laps with holes, big ones. Took over an hour for them to attempt to fix it.Then the joke of 2 car qualifing. Bad idea that just puts some one in harms way, plus the officals need to know what they are doing. The track began to come apart again, this time developing large holes(the size of cars). after being told to race on the track at the drivers meeting Craig Stidham did and he junked a car. You had cars breaking parts due to the conditions,44,21 10. Then Tommy Tarlton spins with a broke piece, but thatsn ot the story. The push truck jumps the car and gives him a flat right rear. The officals would not let him fix the flat and they went green. Mind you 4 cars finished and only 3 on the lead lap. What was the rush? Promtor and officals need to get their s*%t straight. Non wing main found cars going about 20mph in the corners, looked like the caution was out every time they entered the turns, because of the POOR conditions. Not a very racey track for the non wingers, the conditions. After a ton of yellows, a checkered finally fell on the night. a quick stoll through the pits and I was out of there, with no plans on returning this year. Heading to Santa Maria and Ventura. Looking forward to the WOO shows at Watsonville and Tulare plus the TC at Tulare.

Sincerely, Once A Big Kings Speedway Fan

WOW You had a go at them Jones (.Y.) Give them hell.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. When Hanford looked like it was in trouble of closing, up came Frank Dias to take over and things looked like all would be OK.

Richard Harvey had made a deal with the track to be the home track for the SCRA 360 sprint cars. Wasn't long thereafter that the SCRA had failed to get paid on a few events and the promoter had to play catch up before their next races. During this time, the "All Star Western Late Models" ran into the same problem with the track.

Since the current promoter has been in play, the track has had several occasions where track prep was below average grade. Tommy Tarlton had put in an offer to run the track when Dave Swindell stepped out. I trust by now the racers wished the fair-board had took Tarlton up on it. I had continued to hope things would get better for Kings Speedway, but it never seemed to happen. The track needs someone who can run the facility much better.

i dont even know where to start with you rumor man. i already wrote you back once on another forum and i know what group your with by reading your posts that you have made on here. so lets try this all over again with you ok?

1.)Wings =11 cars Non wing 19 cant control car count or civil war races being on the same day.

2.) I ran the meeting and no one was talked down to and they definantly were not disrespected. The drivers and crew at kings speedway know that i respect them for what they do and for coming. I have a job to do and thats run a nice and good program and thats what i try to do every week.

3.)We werent complaining about the infield 75 % of the drivers have been complaining bc they cant see when drivers run down there and the fans have been complaining because they can not see the cars when they do it so we did something. We started with cutting a bigger berm and i put cones on the berm instead of tractor tires(like other tracks) bc i dont want cars to be hitting the tires and breaking parts. You hit a cone what you gonna break? Oh yea and one other thing i had 4 cars hit the cones all night and all 4 got put back 2 spots and no one was complaining

4.) Track to crap after hot laps? I had numerous drivers come up to me and say hey if thats all we had wrong tonight i would be happy track is good. Has the night went along we had a problem in 3 yes there is a problem down there but not the whole track if you were paying attention. Frank is going to again address the problem this week since we have the week dark.

5.) The 2 car qual a joke, ? hows that everything went smooth except for one wing driver who decided he wanted to go slow on the track and another driver was coming out of the turn. i cant make the cars go when we push them but i know that every car was sent on there way as the other car was going into 3 for the white at hanford thats way more then enough time for a car to hit the gas that gets pushed and get past the start line.

6.)There was no holes the size of cars. The clay in turn 3 peeled off and was thrown to the top once again frank is addressing it.

7.)"After being told at the drivers meeting to race on the track" is that not what your suppose to do when you come to a race?

8.) Tommy spins out after the yellow (yellow for debris)comes out while leading and instead of them getting pushed to the work area his crew runs over and starts workin on the car at the top of 4 not allowed so then they push him to the work area to try and fix the torsion bar on the front and tommy turns hard right to try and turn around the right way so if they fix it he can be pushed off well he turned to hard and to fast and the push truck hit his right rear and it popped.

9.) What was the rush? With 11 cars starting there main at 9:55 with a chance to run 30 laps they got the checkered thrown to them at lap 20 at 10:30 with the bandit main to still be ran. Other tracks give 1 min per lap for mains to be run here i give them 35 mins and they got 20 done sounds fair. Im there to see good racing to thats why i dont do 1 min per lap.

10.)Non-wing cars going 20 mph in the corners? I will let you refer yourself to www.mylaps.com for that there is a 1 sec diff between qual and the main for most.

11.)After a ton of yellows? There were some yellows in the bandit race just like any other week they race and they race hard. A checkered finally fell after they completed there 30 laps. 10:40 started main ended at 11:10 hmm 30 laps completed.

12.) Im sorry you feel the need to post so many things that are not facts. I can agree with you and others that it was not the greatest track in the world saturday night but they were still able to race on it and i seen it with my eyes and drivers told me it themselves.I hope you enjoy the rest of your season.

Here is a video of kyle harris on saturday night at kings speedway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj1MP9zkY7U

Hello Open wheeljones;

As far as we are concerned , no problems with pay outs. Some may forget to pickup.

The wing class is being established for a regular complete season in 09, with a new sponsor. I understand the count is down, but we are working to improve, and keep off of civil war as much as possible.

If you have a issue I wish you would step up and say hello to me and We can discuss the concern, at the track. I'm there all night and the next day.

The rest is yoiur opinion which you are intitled to.

Kings Speedway continues to improve the facility one step at a time.

The two day show will be the best and the fans and drivers will enjoy

Frank

'Cheap Shot',I don't know....you didn't sign your name,Radrobinlb-kartracer8-KOP,opinions but no signature?.........heres my opinion...If a track operator watches his track deteriorate to the point theres peeling, huge holes, and you can't see the cars in front of you because of the dust-and he needs someone to tell him theres a problem -you need a new track manager.BTW a friend of mine went to Hanford less than a month ago to a bandit race and descibed the track using the terms above......why is it ,if some 'fan' is dissatisfied with his $15 addmision night ,he can complain .However if a racer is dissatisfied ,after spending 50 times that sum and putting his eguipment and safety on the line, complains its sour grapes................the truth is if someone would spend the money and replinish the clay in that track ,then maintain the race surface thru out the season, the track would be a 'success'

Radrobinlb=Robert N. Davidson. I'm not surprised to hear that King's Speedway is having problems. I have been sour on them since last year when they cut the USAC/CRA main short in favor of the Western-All-Stars. Not to mention the track was not well maintained that night either.

We ran there the week before Calistoga and I have never (and I have been going to Hanford since late 80's) seen it as tacky and fast as it was that night. We talked to Frank and told him we appreciated the track and he said it would be like this for time to come. Sorry about the last couple of races but we will be there for the Tachi race.

Anybody who has a problem with Kings is welcome to come dance with us at Victorville! We have brand new clay, and a terrific track! Come one come all! And besides, if you're a 360, I'll pay an extra $100.00 for the top finishing 360.

why thank you 88. Didn't see you sign your name either. Plenty of opinions though. BTW it was still a cheap shot.

Your response ,tripcrwn.I notice you didn't identify yourself when you wrote such a stellar review of you own bar. They rate your establishment 5 star, based upon your review.I understand,if a racer has a negative statement to say about the track/track conditions, and he doesn't identify himself ...that's a cheap shot......naaaa....the cheesie way you operate,I couldn't give a damn about you opinion
