Did you own the bar when you posted this review on citysearch.com? LOL
http://losangeles.citysearch.com/review/200712 Sounds like you enjoyed hanging out at your own establishment and will return again, good stuff. lol
|
Henry, I am flattered by your interest. No I didn't write the review, sorry. Stop by and we will buy you a drink. Then you may be able to relax a bit. And if you stay to long we will pay for a cab ride so you don't get in trouble. Lots of pics of Tony Jones and the Alexander sprinter.

Your response ,tripcrwn.I notice you didn't identify yourself when you wrote such a stellar review of you own bar. They rate your establishment 5 star, based upon your review.I understand,if a racer has a negative statement to say about the track/track conditions, and he doesn't identify himself ...that's a cheap shot......naaaa....the cheesie way you operate,I couldn't give a damn about you opinion
|
Ah geez, I always respected your opinions in the past. To bad. You might try reading your message before posting, 88. Try using the space bar once in awhile. Just what does cheesie mean? You drinking that wine again? BTW, just what in the hell are you talking about in that post? My original response was directed at the person (Jones something) who complained about Hanford. I felt it was a cheap shot at the track. Sorry you don't care for my opinion. If you ever get off of the desert stop by the bar and judge for yourself.

I don't know if anyone else here finds the humor in your suggestion but I also doubt that there are many literary types on this board. As an FYI, Henry Chinaski was a common character in books written by LA based Charles Bukowski. His primary writing inspiration appears to be alcohol. Myself? I particularly enjoyed reading his novel "Women". Charles Bukowski (and therefore Henry Chinaski) has been dead for probably 15 years now. So why do I find it humorous that someone would invite Mr Chinaski for a drink? Remember the movie "Barfly"? Charles Bukowski was the inspiration for the movie and the character played by Mickey Rourke.

Oh man! Why did you do that? Did you honestly think that none of us knew? Who's picture do you think is in the avatar? For me and others that I know knew, it was kind of fun. We would sneak some stuff into our reply's that only "Henry" would get.

Uh, no. When you read some of the unintelligible gibberish that springs forth from keyboards of some of the people on this board, it's easy to understand how one could doubt. I underestimated you guys and gave away your fun, my bad. Remember that the scum also rises.

I'll see if I can make it over some evening after betting on the ponies. Is Jack the window washer still stopping by? (some will know) As for the review thing, I found it interesting that the reviewer on citysearch.com was a poster by the name of "tripcrwn"... I guess that just must be some sort of ODD coincidence... Just giving you a hardtime, nothing meant by it. Cheers! Oh by the way, I really like the name of your establishment. Too many places have lost the class that once dominated cocktail lounges of the past.

After some investigation it turns out that my daughter (using this computer) scribed our wonderful review. Kudos to you for your research. Plenty of horseplayers at the Buku. Stop by some wednesday - saturday as that is the name of the game in the afternoons. Tommy Yo is the bartender. Ask him to call me. I will shoot right down. We remodeled 5 years ago and it has always been known as the Zanzabuku.
