That's cool that it's set up so you can only vote once. We seemed to have had a problem with vote counting at the last two elections...to put it nicely..LOL

Ken Blackwell, lol...
I am guessing that the founding father's would have that it was a tad odd the the Secretary of State (for Ohio), who coincidentally controls the placement of voting machines and reporting/certification of elections, was the statewide campaign manager for a presidential candidate... sort seems like maybe that would be a problem... maybe...
just a hunch...
the new folks at the Ohio Secretary State's office are working 8am-8pm, 7 days a week right now to try and avoid any irregularities...
I wish Earl still did Eldora's track prep.

FYI - i did not vote in the above poll because i have not yet decided IF i will vote this election or sit this one out for the first time since i was of age to vote.
the founding fathers? you mean back when only land owners could vote for Reps and Senators...and THEY decided who would be President with their own vote?
Rendell's Phillie voting is just as bad as Chicago's multiple votes...but last time I checked Ed Rendell did not drive around with a voting machine in the back of his car like that (D) jackass down in Floriduh during the Gore recount fiasco!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/1374635/Democrat-hid-voting-machine-in-his-car.html
-------------------------Democrat hid voting machine in his carBy Philip Delves Broughton in Palm Beach Last Updated: 2:11PM BST 19 Jun 2001
SKULDUGGERY is suspected in Palm Beach County after the confiscation of a ballot-punching machine from a senior Democrat.
The discovery of the Votamatic machine in the possession of Irving Slosberg, who was last week elected to Florida's state legislature in an extremely tight race, has intensified the slanging match between local Republicans and Democrats. Al Gore is hoping that a manual recount of punched ballots in the county will carry him to the Presidency.
The Votamatic is used on some ballot boxes to punch holes in ballot cards. Those ballot cards are now the subject of national dispute, because many Palm Beach County voters failed to punch them properly. Police found the machine in 53-year-old Mr Slosberg's car after he had denied to county officials that he had it.
Palm Beach County's besieged elections supervisor, Theresa LePore, a Democrat, has not pressed charges, claiming that she had too much on her plate. Mr Slosberg was already the subject of allegations that he bought his seat by giving away thousands of handbags made by his company and paying "consultancy fees" to retired people.
When asked on Monday by a local official whether he had the county-owned machine, he denied it at first, then admitted it but refused to return it. Eventually he handed it over to a police officer. Authorities believe that it was taken from a voting booth. Last weekend, Mr Slosberg was seen showing how the ballot-puncher worked to curious media people.

PowerSlave - Sorry, I forgot to add Ron Paul. I entered in everyone who will actually be on the ticket in most states. I think that Paul would have garnered more votes that Barr will.
On another note. One thing I would like to see changed for the presidential elections is to go back to the way it was done up until 1800. Back then, the person with the most electoral votes became the president and whoever came in second was the vice president. That would cure a lot of the partisan BS in today's politics.

hawker, if they did that you could wind up with a Dem president and a Rep VP or vice versa and that may cause problems with assasination attempts and increased impeachment attempts. Bush's anti-assasanation insurance policy is Cheney.
I'd like to see it go back to the popular vote. That way every vote actually does count.

I agree with the 1-2 president-vice president thing. I was thinking the same thing just a few days ago. I also think they need to amend the constitution to do away witht he electoral college. I feel that if a candidate wins by one vote in Florida, and if he or the other candidate wins by one vote in say New Hampshire, that one vote would be worth more in Florida than in New Hampshire. I feel this is at odds with the Constitutional foundation of one person one vote. You can win by one vote in California, and you can win by a thousand votes in Wyoming, but that one vote in California would be worth over 50 more electoral votes than that thousand in Wyoming. I feel that there is something very wrong with that.

Click here, for AP article Democrats post big gains in voter registration
Since the last federal election in 2006, volunteers like Graham combined with the enthusiasm generated by the Obama-Clinton struggle to add more than 2 million Democrats to voter rolls in the 28 states that register voters according to party affiliation. The Republicans have lost nearly 344,000 thousand voters in the same states.
Nationwide, there are about 42 million registered Democrats and about 31 million Republicans, according to statistics compiled by The Associated Press.

Thanks for posting some concrete numbers, Cubic. How many people on this board are making at least $112,000 a year to benefit economically under McCain? Kind of makes it easy to see why a millionaire like Charles Barkley is saying, "Vote for the Republican."

It's not even as bad as it sounds, Obama really only goes after the ultra-rich that make above $600,000. Last year Warren Buffet said he paid 17.7% taxes on the $66 million he made while the average for tax rate for his employees was 32.9%. Buffet said most of his income was taxed at 15% because Bush cut stock dividends tax, plus payroll tax is only paid on the first $100,000. Bush should have been lynched for cutting dividends tax to 15% instead of helping out the middle class instead. Before WWII income tax on labor was illegal, now all of the sudden the middle class has to pay twice as much tax on their labor than the rich have to pay on investment income? And everyone wonders what happened to the middle class??? They've been too busy paying the upper one percent's fair share...lol.
