Robert Sellers got screwed on the track, but it was very unprofessional to go and try and fight someone still buckled in thier car and it on its side.

He made an awsome pass going from third to first in turns three and four, and then Bloomquest took him out going down the straight away. And then to have fans and people who were working the concession stand go out on the track and jump Sellers. It got wild and crazy. I think they should do it like ice hockey just let them fight and only stop it when they go down on the ground.

I agree. First time I've been back in awhile and was disappointed in the car count until the fight between the 4 and 14 Sprints cars. Made me feel better about donating 22 dollars to a track that is on it's way down. However I have a problem with what I overheard from two track officials. It seems that the 4 car is being suspended for the next 2 weeks and the 14 is not. Apparently track rules state that if a driver or any member of his pit is involved in a fight, regardless of who threw the first punch, then both cars are suspended. I guess this rule does not apply to drivers who are family members of the track owner. Also overheard one flag man state the reason the sprint car count is low is because of the 4 car. Since when is being the best in your class a reason to be made a scapegoat? Remember you are only as good as your competition and like they say "to be the best, you've got to beat the best." The question is- while the 4 is suspended, what does the sprint winner really accomplish?

aw sellers do that? no way. I'm sure he just went over to help the guy get unbuckled and out of the car - ya know - to ask if he was ok and if he wanted to get some pie or something....

maybe i should go waste 10 bucks at lawton - although it aint much a waste if you can run out on the track in the middle of the race. that sounds like fun. suicide - maybe. but fun nonetheless. can i pay 10 bucks to go bum rush lanny on the golf cart when he's in the infield. or better yet - i'll get the max out of my 10 bucks and run him down in the water truck. what a sight - lanny in flight on golf cart with a big red X - and me in the water truck right behind - i might even start droppin some water while i'm chasing him - and then get a megaphone while still chasing the midget in the golf cart and start yelling at all the drivers to GET OUT AND PACK THE F-N TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow - it would be ironic and fun on so many levels.

no the question is - while the 4 car is gone - how much will that car count go up? i bet not more than 1 or 2. what a stupid and baseless excuse for having by far the poorest show in the state.

Lanny even started offering 50 bucks to sfs guys to go - how much did that help? lol. i think there is an already large and still growing # of people wandering why lanny is in the hall of fame. he's run lawton into the ground. and has set The Bowl and SFS on the same path. who cares tho when you make enough to retire on every january.......

Very true, forgot to mention that the flag man who made the statement is Lanny's son and also related to the14 car. Also, one of the track officials that agreed to the 4's suspension happens to be a good friend of the 14. That same track official is a board member of the newly formed and not so successful LSRA. Maybe if all drivers received the same treatment as his family members the car count would be better? Then again, maybe not.

If the competition is not showing up because a talented driver like Sellers is racing in Lawton, then that is sad. I would think that racing against the best will only make you better as a young driver. The best racing of the year was the night that Gary Owens came to town and we were treated to OKC racing. Frankly, I have seen drivers such as Eddy Middleton, TJ Harrell, and Joe Bob Lee improve tremendously the last two years and I'm sure the competition has contributed to their success.

Dang! I decided to go to Ada to watch Gary Owens, and you guys have to start fights!!! Can't I leave you kids alone for one night without any trouble??? LOL. Pretty sad that I heard about this deal while I was in Ada.

I'm not into wrestling, so I'm really glad I made the long drive to watch one heck of a champ sprint race. Not to mention I wouldn't of appreciated my kids seeing that mess. It really sounds like all the track officials need to ban themselves along with the people serving our drinks and getting our hot dogs....how pathetic!

Same shit different saturday night. Why dont they ask some of the drivers why they are not racing, I bet they wouldnt like the answer. I thought at first it was because of the fuel prices but after talking to several drivers this is not the case, it is BS just like this. Everone is tired of favortism and being treated like a dog. Im not saying Sellers was right to go over to Bloomquest, he wasnt. But for the workers and officials to act and say those things was equally wrong.Untill management realises that THEY are most of the problem im afraid racing in Lawton will suffer. Lanny, I know you read this forum, please for the benefit of all, pay attention to this and take it as constuctive criticism.OK flame on im tuff i can take it.

Oh is Sellers also the excuse for the low car count in the other three divisions? Pretty sad when I live five minutes away from one of my favorite all time tracks and wont even go out there.

I was thinking of bringing my Sport Mod down to Lawton this Saturday night but now have changed my mind. I will either go to Meeker or Ardmore or hell I might just stay at home. Knowing our luck I would either crash or blow something up

I went to lawton 3 years ago. I used to stand 20 feet from the sprints hitting turn 3 going 100 mph. It was wild and dangerous but thats why I went down there. I'm a Pisces. An official from the Devils Bowl was there and said if you dont like Lawton and the people that run it just pack your bags and move on down the road.So I guess everybody did. Oh,no wall and just an old broke down fence in turn 3 back then.

I agree. I couldn't find a reason why the hot dog peddlers would get involved then I found out. Seems that the one of the workers drives the 10k sprint car who wasn't racing but the kicker is he ALSO is a family member. And if you thought the hot dog peddlers were bad you should've seen the pits. I mean this 14 car really has alot of family seen some drivers from the mods running around like they wanted to do something but I guess a person has to do something for kicks. My suggestion is that these other drivers need to worry about why they didn't win instead of "Oh no, Somebodys messing with my sisters aunts brothers cousins uncle twice removed".

I know the answer, but I'll ask it anyway. Will Lanny's grandson (Ezell) and his granddaughters husband (Bloomquist) get the same treatment that Sellers will? If not then at least Ezell got what he deserved for sucker punching Sellers. And like someone said earlier, the rules state that if anyones crew or the driver get involved in a fight then both drivers will be suspended for 2 weeks. No matter how many cars you have this rule should be applied. Everyone needs to fill up the tracks answering machine, email, and if you have it, Lannys

voice mail saying that these two along with Sellers should not be back for 2 weeks. Also, how come Bloomquist can tell the officials that they cannot do their required inspection to race, and he still gets to race. I apologize for the rant but, somethings never change, as long as your related to Lanny

Well, you know what they say....ignorace is bliss.....so apparently you are a bunch of blissful people..... Is that why Sellers was saying he was going to run over Bloomquist???? Oh and by the way......it is B-L-O-O-M-Q-U-I-S-T........

Were you at Lawton? Did you see the wreck? What was your opinion of who ran over who? Kinda hard for Sellers to run over blumqueen when he had made the pass and was in front of her isnt it? Shawn butthead has been warned numerous times for his crowding on the starts, and still does it every race. Lanny said from his own mouth that he had had a talk with the idiot about it, but apparently he doesnt know how to drive well enough to control the car. As far as Ezell goes, I am sure he was running in the opposite direction after the sucker punch, the way he and his big mouth crew run their mouths in the pits.

If Sellers is so great why is he not winning every weekend in OKC? He comes to lawton expecting to dominate and now that he has competition he is running them over.....Yes as a matter of fact I was at Lawton, Yes I did see the wreck....I have my opinion and you have yours that is what it boils down to....unfortunately that is what happens in sprint cars, you have wrecks. It is alright though, people did get what they deserved and that is why he ended up in the hospital....

Im a fan of dirt track racin i dont have a car and never will.But if i didnt help out at Elk City Raceway i would drive to Lawton next week just to see what happens i dont no if anyone on here are fans or all drivers but yall have me wanting to go to Lawton.

Dude you must be joking? Why doesn't Sellers win at OKC every weekend well not sure but I can think of 23 reasons why he didn't this past Friday. Because that's the number of cars that where there and not to mention as good as drivers as himself. As far as who went the hospital well not sure on that one ither because I watched Sellers load his car and drive by the cast of Deliverence on his way out of Next of Kin Speedway. Also if my memory serves me right I do believe Sellers has won all but two of the features this year, Don't know about you but I would call that dominating.
