“I’m hearing quite a bit of booing up there, which I think is cool. That’s what this is all about, really. It’s about these huge crowds we get and putting on a show for the fans. We appreciate it whether they’re cheering or booing.” - Brad Sweet
LOVE it. His attitude is great. I gotta admit, I root for the underdog, the little guy, the unknown to win. That aint Brad Sweet even though he's the Outlaw who lives closest to me. I surely appreciate Brad Sweet and his skills behind the wheel though! He's winning lots of races again this year.
Everyone likes the Outlaws, but nobody likes the Outlaws. There's a reason they're the best.
And again, Schatz was a threat but just couldn't pull out the win... again.

Its the old "anybody but Kinser/ Schatz" syndrome
Brad is pretty uncontroversial, has a nice guy image, races pretty clean, & WINS a lot
My only thing is the "Big Cat" nickname... he's not that big.... going by looks, I'm trying to decide betwen "Richie Cunningham" or Opie"
I was disappointed when he won, myself. I was rooting for Lance, but when he blew up, I was for Schatz... he's inherited the "hope the old pro gets a win" vote. Plus I was planning to go on a Minthess style "Ford Rules" rant....

It was a great race last night. I thought the surface was the best Lincoln had all year. If Dietrich doesn't spin in front of Marks I think he wins. Marks and the family car have things clicking. Glad I went, it was an enjoyable night.

One of the cool things about the Outlaw/Posse rivalry is it doesn't matter who the leader of the Outlaws is, he's going to get booed. But there is an underlying respect there, like "yea were booing you, but we only boo the best."

Sweet has ran a near flawlwess season so far and luck has been on his side. I just can't understand what has happened to Schatz. In years past when he got the lead he was gone. He's been in position to win many time and the car shuts down or he fades. Is it the engine? Is it the team? Is it the driver? I don't get it, can he rebound?

If a racer gets bood it means the fans are glad you are here. If you were not at track they would be upset that they never had someone to boo

Probably a lot of emotions as one of the hometown posse favorites put on a clinic and had it in the bag until another posse driver got sideways in front of him, plus people are getting the shits of Sweet. Nice guy or not. Seems like a nice guy off the track but pretty aggressive on it.

He was known as "The Sweet Sensation" during his USAC days, which I prefer. Not sure who gave him the Big Cat nickname when he went wing racing, but it stuck. The Big Cat name has never made much sense to me either.

He's talked about it in a few interviews and I don't think it is something that he chose. Its a reference from an old MTV show Rob & Big, I think there was character or they called someone Big Cat on the show. Apparently Brad and his roomates at the time watched the show and the name got stuck on Brad somehow amongst friends. Someone in the pits probably heard someone call him that and the next thing you know, that is how he is announced.
I myself find it humorous considering I'm 6'5 so I find it kind of a funny pun on words and physical presence. Kind of like when I hear someone who is my height and about 300lbs called Tiny, or a tiny dog called Killer.
Glad to see he went along with it. I remember Knoxville in 2018 the place erupting because he beat Schatz and everyone pulling for him in 2019 to beat Schatz in the Championship. It seems you can only win so much for some fans until they turn on you but at least personality wise, he's welcoming to the fans and doesn't throw a fit when people don't like that he is winning.

The 15 car is surely one of life's great mysteries. How many times has he started on the pole, didn't lead every lap, and lost? Betcha you only need a few fingers for that.
But, that's the Fabulous Lincoln Speedway for ya. I haven't seen too many races there but, while the field's been wired more than once, I think there's better places to win from the pole.
Mr. Schatz being Mr. Schatz, he can alleviate some of the mystery tonight - or, more likely, tomorrow night when the big money is on the line. But then there's Mr.Gravel - he's real good a takin my homies' money too. And hopefully that Larson kid is running a Late Model this weekend - jus sayin.

A car that runs very good at start of race then it starts to fade at end is the chassis setup. It is not the engine. Things like yellow and red flags enter into it also when you lose a big lead.

I am sure Schatz will never admit he needs Ricky.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

What's the mystery? If you go back in time, of any sport anywhere, the one saying that's so true is "Father time is undefeated". I haven't seen any outlaw races live for a few years so I won't say anything on specifics but you've got a driver in his mid 40s who experienced some pretty big changes over the last few years. I don't know if he's lost a step so to speak or there missing something somewhere else equipment wise. I would guess it's a combination of those things and you could add since 2006, he's probably hasn't had competition this tough outside of when Meyers beat him a couple years. Not really a mystery, it's just that his dominance is coming to an end or ended a few years ago.

Am I correct recalling others mention sweet doesnt usually do real good at WG?
I'm not trashing the guy, but I recall some conversation about one track that he hasnt conquered, was it WG?
I'm tempted to hashtag #napaKNEWhow with his recent blah performances, disregarding the the win handed to him Wed.
OK, maybe I'm trashing just a bit, but if it's cool to boo its gotta be cool to light fun him a bit...
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
