I can appreciate the guy's knowledge, but I absolutely cannot stand to hear Johnny Gibson announcing races. When he's talking at a normal volume it's not so bad, but once he raises the pitch of his voice and starts talking loudly it drives me nuts. I know I'm not alone in this because I've spoken to others who cannot stand his voice.
And on the parade lap when he says that same cheesy thing he's said for years and years... C'mon now. Dude needs to be replaced. He's not an elite voice talent by any means.

I think Mr. Gibson does a pretty good job overall. I can agree with you on the parade lap thing, that got old many years ago.

Fantastic first post, perfect screen name. Both of those about sums up his post. Johnny should keep doing what Johnny does. He is the best there is.

To each their own I guess.....Personally, I love hearing Johnny's signature parade lap call. It never gets old for me.

Johnny does a pretty good job really. You can tell he has a few drivers he prefers and a few he doesn’t, but after 20 plus years of doing it that could tend to happen. He does a great job of calling the races but has a habit of updating Penguins hockey game scores and Steelers football scores if the teams are playing during the course of a race. Ya never know who might not want to know the score as some record it and watch it later. I did notice also that he is sporting a fresh die job on his hair, so the gray must be starting to show. Anyway, I think Tony Bokhoven is the best out there at the current time. Just my 2 cents worth.

Absolutely agree. Johnny is the best announcer in dirt racing.

As a Pennsylvanian myself, I'd have to say I agree.

Gibson does a hell of a job. His knowledge and passion is great for the sport.

I think the poster is a moron! There is NO BETTER announcer in all of racing than Johnny Gibson!
The Crowd Pleaser IS THE BEST ever!

Wait a minute....I thought Posse fans were supposed to be a bunch of Noo Yawkas dumped in a trailer park? Still think that was the funniest post EVER on HH!

Just wish we could hear him clear on "racing radios" like at a Nascar race, can imagine how great that would be, but the loss of some of the engine noise would be odd. No one could replace him IMO. The "you wanted the best", etc, is still fine with me. Most people only hear it once, maybe twice a year so they would definitely miss it. The 4-wide salute to fans is still one of the greatest spectacles in motorsports.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

I have to agree. That post was the best possible way to describe the stereotypical posse fan.

Actually i think the intro is a bit corny & has become a cliche, but its his trademark, so he might as well stick with it.
Who cares what he says for intro as long as the racing is good!
& thanks to Johnny for giving us the straight facts on HH
