2017 is behind us. The Outlaws are loading up with teams to tour next year, possibly 18 to 20. I wonder were this is leaving the all stars as far as teams that are going to run the hole schedule ? You have your local guys that will jump in when they are close, but how many will follow the tour ? Is Dale Blaney coming back or staying in PA ? Remember he drives to central pa every week-end. Western pa. had 4 guys that got there feet wet and followed most of the tour but they never did very well. Are they coming back for another shot ? Or, it has been said Mercer is done unless a buyer is found. The RUSH group is starting a new crate class of sprint car. You have the 305 class, I believe that only leaves 1 track in western pa running sprint cars weekly. Lernerville. Tim Schaffer had a great year but there going to pick and choose were and when they run, which is what i think many are going to do. I think you may see Tony Stewart try to get some of that young Ca. talent to come to the mid-west. The off season may be interesting to say the least.

Having no inside info at all, if you read between the lines of his Tweets, possibly Danny Dietrich will join in 2018. Lord knows they need a few more quality teams to join.

Based on the amount of races entered at the end of the year I wouldn't be surprised to se Brad Lamberson from MI join.

Max is out of the 33 but said he still wants to run the tour.

I think people worry every year and cars end up coming out of the woodwork to run with them. I'm sure Kemenah and Smith will be back, beyond that you could see Dale Blaney (I guess he is out of the Zemco car), I was also thinking Danny could run the All Stars (he made a comment on twitter about how he would like to run with them). I don't see why guys like Holtgraver, Shaffer, and Dave Blaney don't run the All Stars too, considering they already run a majority of the races anyway, might as well run the whole thing and pick up a good bit of points money at the end of the season.

To me another one that would make sense, although its based on nothing more than me thinking it makes sense is J-Mac. The All Stars points season starts after the AU season ends, and it ends well before the AU season starts. He would be a force on the All Stars in the Highlands car IMO.

Thanks,
Jeff.

I believe you'll see Mark Dobmeirer run with them in 2018. I know for next year you'll see Brock Zearfoss doing a lot more traveling...he's a potential fit with them if things aligned right. Obviously Saldana will be running a lot of their events in the Rudeen deal. I;d like to see Bill Balog venture out this way and try his hand at a full-time deal, but I doubt it happens. Danny has made mention of it before, but he;s also at some points said the complete opposite and that it makes no sense to travel when he can work from home and make a lot in his backyard. I know Logan/Mike WAGNER HAVE MENTIONED THEY LIKED THE IDEA OF IT AS WELL AND MAYBE TRING TO DO THE DEAL OUT OF ONE TRAILER SIMIULAR TO WHAT sHARK rACING IS DOING ON THE OUTLAW TOUR.

Man if Zearfoss and DD run the all stars, Central Pa on a weekly basis will be pretty barren of top teams running weekly.

A team wouldn't travel full time with the WoO unless they were contracted and received the goodies that go along with being contracted, but don't think the WoO would want the expense that go along with having 20 contracted teams or would they? I think 16 has been the most thus far.   They can always get locals to fill the event, either voluntarily or throwing a few bucks at teams as an incentive to come race with them and fill the event.

Is it true that both of Bobby Allen's team cars each get tow money for each event even though in the same hauler?

Lincoln:

Monteith, Freddie Rahmer, Trey Starks, and not sure if Gerard Macintyre will be at Lincoln weekly in the Coldren car which IMO will be a good combination.

Port Royal:

Lucas Wolfe, Gregg Hodnett, TJ Stutts, and occasionally Lance Dewease as well.

In addition I expect guys like Campbell, Macri, and Reeser to continue to improve into top shelf teams. Also some 358 teams moving up (Adrian Shaeffer, Doug Hammaker)

Thanks,
Jeff.

I'd be shocked to see Dobmeier run with the All-Stars.

I think it will be similar to this year...a lot of rookies but a lot of regional guys at every race

Loosing DD and Zearfoss would definitely hurt top end quality, but more importantly reduce already anemic car counts in Posse land. Add potentially the Wagners and things will really look dismal. Local racing will continue to decline in central Pa and Ohio will be the primary benefactor as most All- star races are in Ohio.

I don't remember very anemic car counts this season. I went to Lincoln 17 times and I personally never saw fewer than 20 cars (they did dip below a few times, but mainly because they ran against a big event at Port or something which I probably went to myself). Port has car count trouble occasionally but still never get to the "anemic" level you mentioned (I would reserve that for tracks like Mercer, PPMS, etc). Williams Grove generally had 22+ cars weekly, which is fine and better than many 410 tracks in the country. Knoxville had the same issue occasionally as well.

Meanwhile we had 60+ cars at the Tusky, almost 50 at the Open, 40+ cars countless times (Dream Race, Weikert Race, most of the Speedweeks and All Stars shows, and other bigger races). This is all without mentioning the 360, 305 and 358 car counts that were as usual very health throughout the season. I think we are doing fine here in Central PA..

Starks isn’t a weekly racer, nor is Lance.

Do you have a set of perameters about who counts and who does not? I know Gregg Hodnett took a week or two off at one point, and I know Monteith took a few weeks off during the season as well. Lucas Wolfe raced outside of PA one week so I'm not sure if he can be counted anymore either.

I'm not sure that Starks missed any big races in PA, and ran many weekly shows at Lincoln as well. Lance ran most of the big races and raced Port/WG quite a bit over all. I just don't understand the doom and gloom, the Posse still won 2.5 races against the Outlaws (Zearfoss, Hodnett, McFadden/Highlands which is better than just about every region aside from the ENTIRE Midwest) this season, and outright stomped the Allstars all season (I think Brown was the only non-Posse car to pick up a W in Central PA with the All Stars... and hes not even an Allstar).

OK. If you want to look at it that way then yes things are horrible, Port must not have had 4 or 5 cars run every race. They might as well close the place, Lincoln didn't do well either only a few raced there too. Its odd though, because every time I showed up there they had pretty full fields and lots of competitive cars. Oh well, times are hard I guess.

I think they still run weekly in PA right? Time trial shows pay the bills, but the bread and butter of Central Pa has always been the weekly shows.

Just saying that taking 2 of your top 5 local teams wouldn’t be good. Not to say it’ll even happen, just rumors at this point.

I thought Hammaker was going 360?

Considering a full field is 24 cars, I would consider 20 to be anemic. I recognize Lincoln usually doesn’t have a full field problem, Williams Grove and Port do. Special shows are not a problem but weekly shows could be an issue.
