Anyone hear if the Outlaws are trying to sanction this race next year?

I think if the outlaws were going to sponsor this race you would have heard about it when they released the info. I think it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. I would not put it past WRG to come up with something that will have all Ina uproar.

I hope they don't. The car count and potential winners will be higher without them.

As of last weekend the Outlaws want nothing to do with the race. I was told that multiple times over the course of the World Finals.

Well that's good news. Let's hope they don't penalize the teams that do want to participate. They do have rules in place for teams that go off the reservation. If they think someone is going to hurt there product in some way, they will make rules, that will make it difficult for teams to run this race.

I am sure the Woo will get creative and schedule some races on that weekend and it would not surprise me if the races are not close enough to effect car count at the Mansfield race. This year they were in Indiana that weekend.

Personably I will be surprised if this Mansfield show gets over 50 cars. Big money will keep the small teams away when you add in entry fee, pit passess, etc. Just my prediction.

I would of liked to have seen the race run by the All Stars more so than the Outlaws. I think the All Stars are not overpowering like the Outlaws (who can sometimes scare away the low budget teams). I think if it were run under the All Stars you could expect a count at least as good as the Tuscy last year (mid 60s) but probably more like 70+ for that money. I'm not sure of the format but it would probably help if they had a nice ($3k or so to win) non qualifiers race so that at least 48 cars get a chance to run for decent money.

Thanks,
Jeff.

Mansfield race has a better purse than I anticipated honestly. Split field shows on friday mean more people are getting paid, 2k to start, 2k to win non-qualifiers race, etc.

They had 63 for their $15k to win show during Knoxville as a reference point. I'd be surprised to see less than that honestly (but I don't think it will be a lot more).

Outlaws can race in Indiana again, don't think it'd really impact car count, in fact may even help it (quantity wise).

I'm excited to see that 69k come west for the first time in a long time.

I’m sure it’ll attract a better field quality wise at least than the August show, which by all accounts was a disaster as they had to cut the main event to 20 laps and got done around 2 am (with no rain).

I hope it succeeds and eventually gets Outlaw support as we need more big paying shows, not less.

I think the other thing that could be sticky for people signing up for the event is you can't just show up. Face it late April can be questionable for weather and you got to enter by April 1 or you can't race. Plus you gotta pay $200 entry fee. I think this will limit guys. Plus they said if you race Friday and Saturday and don't make a feature or the non qualifiers race you get $150 for 2 nights of racing. So basically you raced for free after paying the entry fee. I just do not see smaller or local teams signing up for this. Especially if there are other Ohio or MI tracks that might give guys some place else to race with a smaller purse but get to race.

ALL DRIVERS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A REGISTRATION PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE AND PRIOR TO RACING AT THE SCWC. "EARLY" Driver Registration Entry fee is $150 and includes 2 Day PIT PASS for the Driver. After February 1st Entry Fee will be $200 and it will NOT include driver pit pass. All Driver Registration Entries must be recieved by April 1st deadline. NO REGISTRATION ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER APRIL 1st - NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL Driver Registration Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE.

All driver registration entries must be completed online, fees must be paid online and be paid in full upon registration.

Prior to completing driver registration, All car owners, drivers & crew members agree and are aware that they must adhere to ALL event/sanctioning body/venue: rules, regulations, policies and requirements which are at the complete discretion of event management.

Personally I think the event is going to have a great field of cars.....ESPECIALLY if there aren't any WoO teams present. There are a  good number of teams that figure to be in the top 10 with a real chance of winning without the WoO present, and a hell of a lot of teams out there looking at that $2000.00 to start money. And a large group of teams that figure the start money is well within their grasp. I've said for years, that the bottom money increase is the future of sprint car racing. I think the deal would have worked just as well or better with a $50,000. to win, and the other $50,000. spread out further down the ladder for the peliminarys and the last chance drivers. But that's jmo. Regardless, let's all hope it's a huge success.

+1 Proof in point - Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal(all-stars sanctioned) - 66 cars, Port Royal WOO race 40? cars? Pay the money and the cars will come. We don't need no stinkin' outlaws.

Interesting situation... I'm sure plenty of the Outlaw guys will be itching to try for that $100,000, but WoO probably won't let them.

Just shows how the WoO took actual "outlaw" racers & turned them into employees (or "independent contractors"?) of  another corporation interested in protecting their market share

Like somebody said, Tuscorora 50 was a huge suceess without WoO, & its a chance for smaller teams to win some $$$

Indiana is just next door to Ohio (duh....), will this race destroy WoO car count?

But suppose WoO lets its teams race? If Schatz or another well sponsored team runs off with the loot, will that ruin it?

Where's all this $$$ coming from anyway?

Anyone know what camping is like at Mansfield? I haven't been there yet but there are a couple of us thinking about towing campers out from PA for this race.

What is the exact date for this race I would like to plan to attend,I agree it would be best with no sanction like the 50 at Port it should draw cars from all over .

I know I am getting old but I dont remember the race in August who won ?

Wonder if Pa. will shut down ,is it close to Easter weekend? ,
