Three nights in a row on your biggest weekend......and you have a worse racing surface every night.  Something should be fixed or attendance will drop like the NFL.   I have been going for over 30 years and these last three nights were as bad as I had ever seen it.  Looked like a NAPCAR race.

Really? I wasn't there, but watched on PPV. I thought Thursday races were very entertaining, as well as tonite's feature. good 3 way battle betwen Schatz, McFadden & Gravel

Some of the best racing I have seen at the Grove. I think your just butt hurt because your guy didn't win. 

Was a good track all 3 nights except toward the end of tonight’s amain..not quite sure what you’re talking about.

Did any of the drivers take a knee during the national anthem?   I'm quite sure they didn't...

Attendance won't drop because of the racing surface.   Certainly not the way it's dropping in the NFL.

Anytime you can watch multiple drivers come through the field and make huge gains in position it's  not correct to say the track surface was poor! Towards the end of last night's Feature yeh the surface was pretty well worn out. But after three nights of hard racing that will happen. I'm not sure how often Williams Grove has run three nights like that, and maybe as they have more experience at prepping three nights like that they will only get better. As it was in my opinion they did a great job.

Often schatz finished 3 or 4 cause he didnt have time to get to the front but Sat he went backward. Great to see him get passed. I like him but its good for others to gain on him and pass.  Video shows great frustration in Schatz when getting the yellow after the back stretch pass on gravel. Cost him 38k. I'm not a surface expect [nor google expert for that matter] but seemed like a lot more passing than most races.

Sorry Rod, but statements on this site can cause as many caustic posts as questions. Sometimes you just can't win, don't take this stuff seriously as others do.

Track was excellent for 2/3rds of the race last night. At least they made some effort to maintenance the track in the intermission last night. 

Don't let anyone bully you into not asking questions!

I've only been watching sprint cars for 7 tears now, & track prep is still the biggest mystery to me, & obviously one of the most important things

So please explain specifically what it means when a track is "worn out"?

Its pretty easy to tell when a track is "follow the leader: or "racy", & it seems some tracks get it right consistently & others not so much

I'm gonna take a chance next weekend on ASCS at Calhan, Colorado, largely cause Sammy will be there, & I want to support a rare opportunity to watch sprint cars out here. I went once before, & sorry to say, not good. Total "follow the leader", "huggy bottom", no passing. Best race was lowest class, maybe "Hornets" (?), young lady won on last turn, banging doors with competitor. She was ecstatic, first race I've seen won by a woman. I don' know if its the arid climate on Colorado plains, or if track operators don't really get it.... hoping for the best

Unless you think that Williams Grove has a knob to turn off the wind yesterday and the rain showers Friday, I don't know what you expect. Track prep is heavily dependent on weather and especially yesterday, the weather was a track preppers worst nightmare. They did the best they could and I appreciated their efforts. It was a fun weekend.

The show of the weekend was Logan Schuchart last night.  What a drive.

Still stand by my opinion,  the track sucked all three nights.

Thursday, after Hodnett and Stewart finished taking each other out....no passing.  Second feature, Hodnett won from the front row.

Friday, top four fInished where they started.  5th place car started 6, 6th place car started 5th.

Saturday, top three finished where they started.  Schuchart was the show, 20th to 4th.  Pittman started 4th, finished 5th.  Cars after the Stewart flip were coasting through the turns on the bottom.

Tell me where the great racing was?

Have to agree. That's the nature of sprintcar racing today, no matter the track. Sometimes though we get a good race. We need rule changes, but all the tracks are playing footsy with the outlaws because that's where they make their money.

Worn out as in with about 10 laps to go for the most part it was a one grove track. Moisture was obviously gone.......what was left of the cushion was so far up the track that it wasnt feasable to run up there. I wasn't knocking anything at all. Three nights of hard racing is hard on a track surface and makes prep even more difficult. Hell it's happened at Knoxville during the Nationals on occasion and they have more experience in multi day prep for sprints than anybody. 

There were 3 lead changes and 3 leaders. I agree Friday was pretty bad but that may have had to do with the rain. 

I’m not saying the racing was world class, but I think last night was pretty good.

So if people on here think the track was so bad, what do you think needs to be done? If you not part of the solution, then your part of the problem. 

One thing that needs to be done is more food options on the front and back stretch. Making people hike to the infield for pizza is a bit silly. 

Yep, not having to walk to the infield for pizza will definately make the track better. The grove is the grove, been that way for many years. One thing I have learned about the place is not to have high expectations when you show up there.
