If you are talking about xxx i don't beleive they took an existing factory and closed it down and then built one off shore and manufactured items that were then sent into the US. As a matter of fact i don't think xxx even owns a factory off shore. I think they purchase from a pre existing company owned by others in that country. They are essentially an importer of contracted goods made by an outside foriegn company. So the penalty would not apply to them. Now if there is a tariff applied to goods being imported from outside the US imposed, then that would be different.

Well he's talking about business that move their plants from the USA oversees then try to sell that product in the states.

I assume you are talking about XXX chassis again. If the XXX chassis factory was not in the USA  to start with then moved to China they have nothing to worry about, this will not affect them.

cubic dollars = wrong again. Plus a big increase would probably put a bunch of Posse teams out of business since a lot of them use XXX. Got to assume they do that because they can't afford a GOOD American built chassis.

The ones that need to worry are reebok, nike, ford, gm, and others who have moved production out of the country. I am not sure how it affects apple, who has stuff made at foxcon which is i think is a chinese oened co, but i don't know if parts are just sent there or  manufactured there.

Since coming out of the bankruptcy, GM has not closed any US based facilities.   GM does have plants in both Canada and Mexico.   GM does rely on numerous suppliers of parts for thier vehicles many of thes parts are assembled elsewhere.

Lol. Trump has repeatedly said China devalues their currency 45% and so he will impose a BLANKET 45% tariff. Will he be able to get it done is the question. There has never been a question however that no one would buy a Chinese shit box for the same price as an American chassis. All the communist better than you propaganda would go right out the window and they would die a swift death.

Correct. There was only one American who Adolf Hitler made favorable mention of in "Mein Kampf" and that's Henry Ford. He was even awarded the Grand Cross of the Golden Eagle medal by the Nazi's on his 75th birthday. I'm sure Minthess already knew that though since he's the resident Ford expert.....

And......if anybody has read any books on the subject.......Henry Ford was also a "hater" of labor. Treated his workers like shit and abused his responsibilities to those who toiled to make him one of the richest and most powerful men in America. Probably another reason Hitler looked favorably on Ford.

There are 100 articles on Trump imposing import tariffs. His tweets this weekend were just the latest volley across China's bow. I never assumed you knew what you are talking about, as I do the majority of you chink chassis lovers.

Like i said, that has nothing to do with what you first posted. It is an entirely different subject. If you want to change the subject that's fine, but it still doesn't absolve you from your first inaccuracy. Like i said in my first responce to you......if tariffs are imposed on items imported from other countries that would be different........and it is. Different. Now would you like to change the subject again?

Hoping Trump does a good job at surrounding himself with smart people in the world of economics.  His ideas sound really good--to the average, lame, uneducated American.  If allowed to make some of these moves, we will be in another recession by the time his mid-term hits.  Imposing 35% taxes and 45% tariffs at the drop of a hat will be devistating to those in our country controlling all of the money.  And, in case you don't know this, when that 1% with 99% of the money is hurting--we'll all be hurting.

He has the right ideas on some things---just needs some direction.

There were lots of Nazi sympathizers here in the good ole USA: Charles Lindbergh, Joseph Kennedy, most of the Dupont family, etc.  Also in Great Britain, such as the Duke of Windsor.

You know how they always use appeasement at Munich to prove how we need to "stand up to the Commies"? British appeasers were actually willing to hand over Czechoslovakia to Hitler so that he would leave them alone & attack USSR. They prefered Hitler to Communists. Didn't work... Hitler was too vicious & crazy

No need to be nasty. You are the one who changed the supject from taxes imposed on US companies that leave and manufacture off shore, then bring those products back in.........to talking about tariffs imposed on foreign companies that bring their product into the US. You are tbe one that posted an article claiming one thing, then when that was shown to be invalid to your point, you changed the subject. You can be as nasty as you want, it doesn't change that fact.

Cubic has never bothered himself with real facts. Most of his facts are ones he makes up.
