Just a question that seems many know not the answer to on the 2016 points fund payoff for the King of the West at seasons end. Many teams dont know and have asked this question without a solid answer so I myself am just curious if someone out there may know and help myself and a few others answer this question. Not trying to stir up any bad scenarios just plain curious. Thanks.

Paging Gary Thomas.
Maybe reach out to Gary via Twitter, Facebook, or Email (I'm sure you can email him via this forum, just find his latest post)? He may be able to shed some light.

Why would a simple question like this be stirring anything up? I'm sure the John Prentice Group would be proud
to tell the racing public what the top 10 finishers in Califormia's premier winged 410 racing series will be getting.
The numbers will be surprising.

I would think that information regarding points fund payout would be on their website, but I too cannot find ANY mention of it. Its probably something like, your position in the Championship will equal a nights earnings. With no other game in town, theres little reason for purses and points funds to increase.

Its funny that most believe this is a easy thing to answer but for some reason it continues to be un-answered. Its my belief any team that elects to participate in this "premier" series shouls be notified of this long before the season starts. Its only fair for teams to have a full understanding of the points fund before committing to run the series. Alot of time, money and effort goes into a full season with "King of the West" series racing.
Its concerning when many teams dont even know what their racing for other than actual points or winnings from each individual night of racing. But total points for year end standings remain lets say lets than obvious or available. This post has been on this site for a week yet no answers except paging Gary Thomas who I know and havent heard from and think it would be best if the racers and teams knew this publicly as so the promoter and series will be held accountable at years end.
So? Paging Gary Thomas!

Why don't teams that finished in the top 10 last year tell us what they got?

Maybe they think it is their own business and don't need to answer to keyboard jockey's on a Message Board.

I would think that they would promote what the payout is to attract cars to their series. That is unless they were ashamed of what they had to give. AND considering that at least two of the posters on this topic are car owners that run his events, it is our business, as we are not just keyboard jockey's!

Time to address this issue at next kws drivers meeting,if you can stay awake,or maybe at $25 dollar pill draw, ask the official, that takes your money, she is full of information, best bet for the answer, is at the drivers meeting where everyone can hear the answer

Lets not be naive about this issue theres a concrete answer why this information isn't available. It has nothing to do with drivers and owners dont want "us" to know their winnings amout, it may be a very small reason but this is association that is based off the possibilty of winning a purse of some value each race night and seasons end based soely on point accumilation.
The reason I decide to ask this question publicly is because several driver I know and talk with told me they dont know, have never been told and have asked the officals running this association with no answers ever. I asked them why run a very expensive race car when this isnt a known fact before starting the season. Well they had no reason themselves but their racers and want to compete and they dont pay the bills of these very expensive pieces of machinery.
The reason I ask is because as long as the association dose not commit the amounts to be paided out at seasons end is because as long as it isnt required there not held accountable to that amount. So as a example, at seasons end they could say no moneys will be rewarded and state "we never made the amount known" and then the drivers and owners are left with a plastic trophy and half assed shrimp bowl at seasons end.
I dont suggest this will happen I dont know but think the teams should be smarter in committing at seasons start NOT EVEN KNOWING this information. I just hope to bring light to help strengthen the series and make aware the issues that can better our racing out west. No malice intended in bringing this isssue forright.

Does it really matter ? The car owners are not in this to turn a profit. They have made their money in other businesses, owning a Sprint Car is just a hobby. That's why the top drivers are hired guns, if it were a profitable business they would own their own cars. And if they did own their own cars they surely wouldn't intentually wreck it after a victory ala TK in Austrailia last year.

Thats funny NWFAN maybe your on to something cause let's say through the grapevine Dennis is out of the situation completely or so Im told due disagreements? As far as Southbay Bill goes, Are you bleeping kidding? Why does it matter? Hey I guess ignorance is bliss. Do you realize that drivers are paid based off winnings? Duh. So I believe It does matter their Southbay Bill. Get with it man.

That's a mind boggling attitude. If everyone embraces that view they better be happy with 10 car fields. I ran KWS in 2011 on a shoe string budget as an owner / driver. Every dollar matters to me, and at some point an extra $10 will be the breaking point that keeps me from bringing a car to the track. Not every owner is Morrie Williams or Tommy Tarlton.

If I can ask you a question. Did the points money at the end of the year help you race during the year? This whole posting is about year end rewards.

The points money helps with the engine rebuild for the next season. Also, if the points money doesn't matter because the car owners are rich, at what point does the logic dictate that the purse money doesn't matter because the car owners are rich?
