Does it really matter ? The car owners are not in this to turn a profit. They have made their money in other businesses, owning a Sprint Car is just a hobby. That's why the top drivers are hired guns, if it were a profitable business they would own their own cars. And if they did own their own cars they surely wouldn't intentually wreck it after a victory ala TK in Austrailia last year.

the King of the West tickets are half the price of the WOO-zers...Maybe we can go back to Simpson running the show. maybe time to mortgage the house to afford your tickets...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Dan Simpson paid out over 100k point fund in 2011
Tk 20,000
Suggs 15,000
BK 12,000
Allard 10,000
Statler 9,000
I believe he paid the top 15 in points
And a similiar fund in 2012
All we need is someone to post the KWS year end point fund
and this thread will go away.

Anyone is better than pmg or BK,all they care about is themselves, not the racers or the fans

If I can ask you a question. Did the points money at the end of the year help you race during the year? This whole posting is about year end rewards.
|
The whole point of this topic is simply, is there even a points fund payout at the end of the year, and if there is one, how does it break down. Mr. Simpson had a generous payout, but he no longer runs the series, maybe the payout was too generous? Car owners are big boys, they can decide if the are willing to run a car with no payout, or little payout. But if the objective is to grow the 410 fields, then the high number of races, spread out far and wide, with less than ideal purse money be awarded out, will finish this class off. I am not concerned with race shops making money, nor am I concered with a promoter making money, I hope they do. My concern is for the car owners to get something in line with the rest of the country in payouts. Us car owners have a whole lot more invested than anybody else does. And parts suppliers and promoters will have a tough time with buisness if all the cars are parked. Keep in mind, yes we need a place to race, but they need cars to show up so the have something to sell tickets to. We need eachother, but it latley seems more like a one way street.

There is a small chance we will have the answer still this year, but it may have to wait until the awards banquet.

Just a question that seems many know not the answer to on the 2016 points fund payoff for the King of the West at seasons end. Many teams dont know and have asked this question without a solid answer so I myself am just curious if someone out there may know and help myself and a few others answer this question. Not trying to stir up any bad scenarios just plain curious. Thanks.

Wow only 24 cars at chico last nite, congrats Bobby for fast time he gets extra $500 dollars, as far as the point fund for the end of the year,it's a mood point now,the car counts will continue to drop by seasons end

And why would they schedule a Civil War race at Petaluma on June 18th and a King of the west race the same day at Stockton, when a lot of those drivers like to race both series. Allard, Golobic, Becker, Sanders, Netto, etc???

with all the rain this year that we have had the june 18 stockton is a rainout make up show for KWS. with 18 shows for them this year make up dates are getting slim! 410's vs. 360's, I will do stockton...

I'll be at Petaluma, I know there will be a much better car count, and 600cc Micros. It's a longer drive from Reno, but probably worth it for me.

I totally agree! I support both series and don't think 2 big races should have to complete with one another! Everyone looses and car counts are low because of it! I like both tracks and this was a big mistake in my opinion. I remember last year the promoters worked together to make sure this wouldn't happen...
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

I think instead of having a kws race at Stockton this Saturday they should have the kws makeup race this weekend along with the civil war race at Petaluma! By having the 360s and 410s racing the same night everyone wins! Stockton has both the civil war and kws race as the last race of the season in November and it works well Stop making the fans and racers choose between what tracks to go to especially when they are only a few hours apart in driving distance- it's killing our sport...

Everybody take the wings off and come down to Perris. We are having great racing this year. A quite a few of the KWS drivers used to drive at Perris.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.
