We don't have Legends cars on the upper plains. Our plague is B-mods. Every couple years, mini-sprints, micro-sprints, or whatever pop up again for a few years. I presume the Legends races resemble those races- too small for the track they are racing on. By the end of the first lap, 95% of the finishing order is already in place. Would little cars with motorcycle engines be more entertaining if they were on a smaller track, like a 1/8th mile or something? Some years back, I watched some videos of little 600cc(?) sorta sprints from some little PA track- Linda's, an airport, Trailways(?) Anyway, there was a lot of racing action. Sometimes, they'd go almost 2 or 3 laps before a couple of them got upside down.

I am a bit harsh on the legend cars. I wouldn't mind them so much but they bring 50-70 cars and makes Lincoln's long nights even longer. Lincoln is a big wide track for them and they still crash Maybe they could run them enduro style at the end of the night. Yes, micro sprint racing is turning into a no holds barred contact sport all across the country.

Legends look like a division which would be fun and affordable to participate but not so much fun for the fans to watch. On a 1/4 mile they would probably be OK. I don't remember them ever having 70 but usually 40-50 which is still too many. I understand that Lincoln is eager to get started and Thursday looks much better for wether than the weekend but Thursdays are pretty difficult for teams and fans, most of whom have to work early in the morning. I'll catch the replay on flo I guess. With the cost of racing and the already long and ever growing schedule, I've never really understood the need to start in winter.

Port Royal has too many time trial races and not enough handicapped races. I have compained about that for couple of years now. Most of those races are good ones but it will result in lower average starting positions for the winner no matter which track it is on. The big purse races are nice but I fear that it will hurt the family fan base and future fans with the higher admission cost.

No, it proves that BOTH tracks are pretty good and consistantly at the top of the list.

Those stats are mostly because of Freddy winning all the handicapped shows against a bunch of nobody's.

the right answer here is every pa track is excellent. i've ripped williams grove a number of times...but i felt like they had a better year last year. my complaints are usually related to safety and wanting to see the racing better from the infield. a few simple things like moving the trailers out of the infield accomplishes both goals. going to a place like eldora 2 years ago made me realize what williams grove could be as the host of one of sprint car racing's biggest events.
since all the tracks are great...it comes down to who's racing there. montieth's departure really lincoln. say what you want about logan wagner...port royal has at least one guy everybody is gunning for week to week. i'm not sure anybody fits that mold at lincoln. maybe rahmer...but i feel like that's underachieving for him compared to what guys like marks, macri, and dietrich are doing.
i still have trouble believing a track like lincoln gets $100 for a race. if that's all they get...i blame the track for not negotiating a better number. the colonial athletic association just signed what was called an "8 figure deal" with flo to show all of the conference's games.

100% true. Lincoln is a fine track yes but any stats about where the winner starts have to be taken with a grain of salt as Lincoln has a far weaker weekly field most weeks. Also Dietrich has won a fair amount of shows like that as well.

Absolutely. Quality of field is one of the factors that the industry standard Sprint Car Ratings uses and of the top 75 winged 410 races in the ENTIRE COUNTRY last year, 10 of them were at Port (including the Highest rated All Star show, the Highest rated PA Speedweek show and the 2nd Highest rated non-touring/unsanctioned show in the country) and 2 of the 75 were at Lincoln. That's all the proof anyone with a brain needs.
One Central PA track (and 3 in the entire U.S, add Husets in 2023) paid out over $1,000,000 to winged 410s last year and it was Port Royal. No All Star shows will mean even less money being paid out at Lincoln this year.
2 of the top 11 paying shows in the country in 2023 are going to be at Port Royal. 1 show in the top 40 tied for 30th highest at Lincoln.
Port has the 4 biggest series' in the nation at their track again this year. WoO Sprints (4 times), WoO Lates, All Stars and USAC National Series. lincoln has WoO Sprints (2 times). With that quality of racing, season tickets should be about $75 at Lincoln this year.
It's not close, hasn't been for a long time. Some are in denial, but you can't argue with facts.

Firstly, Justin Peck being on this list is absurd. Secondly Macri ran one regular show at Lincoln after March 26. Marks didn't run any. Most of their Lincoln starts were at All Star/WoO/PA Speedweek shows. Many weeks, the best car in the Lincoln field is Rahmer or Dietrich.

When the Front Row Starters are: Givler (x2); Niki Young; Emig (x2); Arnold; Hivner; Hershey; Walp (x2); Bishop; Forsythe; Millard (4 times); it does not mean it's a racy track, it's an argument for handicapping.

Why Lincoln has decided to cut back as drastically as it has concerns me. They had nice fields throughout the year in both 410's and 360's. Justin Peck did a lot of racing in central pa last year, why absurd ? Again, it seems rather obvious that Lincoln does not want to pay the sanctioning fee's. If the fans do not support the special shows then how can they be blamed for doing what there doing. I hope they pack the place Thursday.

The interview on here with the guy from Perris said he gets $1000 for streaming of USAC shows. I think those are Flo? .And I agree that is peanuts.

Ok, let's do the "peanuts" math....
If it is $1000 per show given to the tracks for each USAC show Flo streams, then using the three 2023 USAC national touring series schedules, Flo will pay out nearly $100,000 to the hosting tracks. Not to mention the $ Flo pays to USAC for the rights to stream their races, which I'm sure is not trivial.
Your definition of "peanuts" and mine are different.
In addition, USAC dropped the Perris Oval Track Nationals from their 2023 schedule, so there may be some sour grapes there from "the guy from Perris".
One person says Port only gets a $100 per show from Flo, another says a $1000 per show. Still not buying it. Sorry.
