Super Chuck knows Vande77 is a Cyclone fan, so is this a good "Entertainment Venue" investment for SIX days a year? But a new video board that is used 36 times a year isn't? Hmmmmm....

Neither Iowa State or Iowa football spends their $$ wisely IMO (they both have huge video boards for 6 days a year which they only have because some DONATED the $$$ to the athletic department to build them).
Do I personally like the video board? Yes, but it's not as important to me as new restrooms and concession stands are. IMO, the video board should have been the "last" item that was added to the stadium (it was first instead of new concession and restroom facilities and the stadium expansion to bowl in the south endzone).
Big difference between them and Knoxville Raceway is that they have donors who donate HUGE amounts of $$ for projects like these (and some donors designate what their $$ can be used for, If I win the lotto, I can give $100,000,000 to Iowa State, but I can tell them that it's contingent on them only using it for Baseball and Softball (they don't have a baseball program). They can either accept my terms or they don't get the $$$.
That's how the new expansion to Jack Trice Stadium is being done too, The Reiman family has donated $25,000,000 but it's only for expanding the stadium and a new "entryway to the campus". Iowa State can use it to shore up the tennis courts for teh tennis team.
