Website says "mini-sprints" for the support class and I have no idea what the car count will be but I am guessing (hoping) a little higher than the WoO average due to Knoxville WoO show the next night.

Looks like $30 in advance, $35 day of show, $40 advance pit pass/resv seat.

I have never been there before....should I worry about having a reserved seat or is it kinda like Knoxville where every seat is a good one?

Not a bad seat in the house.

If you've never been to Eagle don't you owe it to yourself to come? :)....Seriously though, this show would make for a great first visit. If I was going to have to pay to see the show, (I'll be in the infield, working) I would get a reserved ticket. It's not so much that you can't see the entire track from any seat, but that the lower rows (especially those towards turn 1) can get pretty muddy sometimes. If you guys come out, stop by the tow trucks afterwards and say hi! Brian Dieterman (Auto Connection's Tow Crew)

$30 in advance, has to be the cheapest WoO ticket in the country. Usually in SD, ND, MN and Cedar Lake,WI tickets are $34 to $36 in advance.

The man was right though, if you have not been to Eagle before, you gotta go. What a great place. We used to make it 2 to 3 times a year for 20 years and not just for WoO shows. Can't say enough good things about the whole arrangement down there, the seating, the parking, the food (deep fried chicken gizzards to die for, and the burgers), but have had some health problems for past 9 years and driving that far and making the wife drive 80% of the miles even though she loves the race, just not fair to make her do that much driving. Still make it to several WoO sprint and LM shows in upper midwest and the local Fargo and Grand Forks shows. Fargo moving to Sat nites from the Wednesday deal and having the NOSA Outlaw sprints just about every sat night this year.

I've never sat up in that huge aluminum bleacher at Eagle in turn one but the people that do sit there love it.

15 cars? Are you nuts? I would bet around double that. Everybody is right though, not a bad seat in the house and a great place all around.

Everyone possible should go or they may never need to wonder if they should go to another Outlaw show at Eagle. Eagle has not ran Outlaws for 4-5 years. Not too many tracks stepping up and giving it another whirl when having gave up. I HAVE to assume it is a market test of sorts. I would also bet if it don’t at least break even they will never be back. Don’t get too many second tries in this economy and sport combined. I will go and take my 21 yr. old son and a few of his friends and pay for all of them. I recall going to Eagle in the 80's when the Outlaws came to town and it was packed like the state fair. Fights broke out in the stands and up top from passionate fans. There was also a year there was a party 2-3 miles straight south of the track on a farm. I won’t name names but folklore talk around Eagle is they went through 40-50 kegs. Lord we partied like Vikings in those days! I am proud to have Eagle, NE as an address!

Eagle is one of my favorite tracks in the country, with that being said I left the last WoO show there feeling like I got short changed. As I remember it about 21 410 cars there with 4-5 360 field fillers. Just cant pay to watch a WoO show anywhere west of the Mississippi but K-ville. Just not enough participation. Yes the WoO are the best sprint cars on the planet, but $30 bucks for 3 heats - 1 dash - and a feature just doesnt work for me anymore.

Eagle has been on my bucket list for a while along with Speedy Bill Smith's museum and if the weather looks good on the Tuesday before the show and the Denver-Omaha plane flight stays under $130.00 roundtrip then I will be able to cross it off in a few weeks along with a trip to the Taj Mahal the night after.

I would rather the trip be for wingless variety in August but this is more convenient and I have accepted the fact that there will be 3-4 heats, a dash and a feature for $35 on what will most likely be a typically dry WoO track. Good to know that I do not need to worry about buying a seat in advance.

The Museum of American Speed is a must see for any true racing fan. They are only open specific hours for tours though, so check out their website for times.

Like Deet, I never get the chance to sit in the grandstands anymore, but there's nothing but good seats. A no alcohol and no smoking section for those who want to take advantage of it. And I've been told that those high-rise stands in turn 4 give an awesome view.

C'ya all on the 27th.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

EPSG,

Can you tell me if a pit pass is enough to stand in the infield for the WoO show @ Eagle?

I have spent too many years in the infield and am happier there than any grandstand (except Knoxville)

THANKS

Speedbump I can tell you that a pit pass will not let you stand in the infield of the track it is only good for the pit area wich is located on the back stretch and turns 1 & 2. A pit pass will also let you on the cat walk thats on the back stretch and the into the main grandstands.

Speedbump, there's not a lot of infield to stand in. And what's there is going to be VERY crowded with 2 safety vehicles, 2 tow trucks, 2 push trucks, photographers, and signage. You'll have a much better view from the grandstands or the backstretch catwalk. I stand at the bottom of turns 1 and 2 and can't see much of what's happening in 3 and 4.

trust me, I know. I worked the infield of 3 tracks weekly (mostly stock cars), in Eastern Iowa from 1992 until 2007 (between 60 and 80 shows per year) and participated in Speedway Fire Rescue training several of those years. I know that it is important to keep non-essential people and equipment out of there, but some places do allow and I would take full advantage of that if I could.

It is hard to explain, but a night at the races just feels more "normal" when the cars are going around me instead of around in front of me. (not to mention that my tolerance for drunk "know it all" race fans is diminishing with my old age)

Not arguing, just bummed. I will survive a couple nights sitting down. ;)

It would really be cool if they gave away local tickets to fill the place like they did last year for fan appreciation night. Lord that place was a buzz of humanity. I would not care if I paid $35 and others got in free if the result was a packed house like the good old days. No question our sport is straining when good WoO drivers can get full time rides and have to time slice rides, etc. Any track still doing the same old thing is in their "sunset years" most likely.
