Egan had an awful sounding engine and did the best he could with the one lap he took. Gleason and VanDerVere also with some kind of issues.

Weld Racing Heat (10 Laps) Top-5 transfer to Feature
1. Kurt Winker [1]; 2. Mike Reinke [4]; 3. Scott Young [6]; 4. John Haeni [3]; 5. Billy Warren [2]; 6. Scott Neitzel [5]; 7. Scott Biertzer [7]; 8. Darrell Dodd [9]; 9. Andy Hunt [8]. DNS-Rusty Egan.

Initial start was waved off, but next time off the green, Winker was off out of turn 2 and the distance with no challenge and before it was over had put Hunt and Dodd a lap down. Young moved into 3rd out of turn 4 around Lap-2 as Haeni takes the spot from Warren around Lap-4. Biertzer and Neitzel had a really good race for 6th for a few laps.

MPD Race Products Heat
1. Brian Kristan [2]; 2. Travis Whitney [6]; 3. Scott Uttech [3]; 4. David O’Neal [8]; 5. Joe Symoens [1]; 6. Wayne Modjeski [5]; 7. Rick Kelsey [9]; 8. Ryan Irwin [7]; DNF-Howie Gleason [10]; DNF-Dave Uttech [4].

Out of the initial start, D. Uttech spins sideways on the backstretch and was clipped by Modjeski (?) and Uttech takes a couple flips. He was Ok, but done for the night. Kristan takes the lead out of turn 2 and the distance. By ½ the field was single-file as Gleason is into the infield about Lap-6 with an issue. Lap-7: O’Neal takes the spot out of turn 2.

Lane Automotive Heat
1. Todd King [1]; 2. Donny Goeden [3]; 3. Matt Wasmund [2]; 4. Steve Meyer [4]; 5. Tommy Sexton [5]; 6. Billy Balog [6]; 7. Billy Hafemann [7]; 8. Tim VanDerVere [10]; 9. Russell Borland [9]; 10. Bill Wirth [8].

King leads out of turn 2 over Goeden and Wasmund. By Lap-6, the field was strung out and little would change transfer-wise, if at all.

Behling Racing Equipment B Feature (15 Laps) Top-7 transfer.
1. Scotty Neitzel [2]; 2. Billy Balog [1]; 3. Billy Hafemann [6]; 4. Scott Biertzer [4]; 5. Wayne Modjeski [3]; 6. Ryan Irwin [5]; 7. Darrell Dodd [9]; 8. Tim VanDerVere [12]; 9. Bill Wirth [8]; 10. Andy Hunt [7]; 11. Russell Borland [9]; 12. Howie Gleason [11]; DNF-Rusty Egan [10]; DNF-Rick Kelsey [8]. DNS-Dave Uttech.

Neitzel would lead the distance when he takes over out of turn 2 over Balog, Biertzer, Modjeski and Hafemann. By the end of the initial lap, Dodd moved up to 7th. Lap-5: As Modjeski takes 3rd, Hafemann and Biertzer swap 4th for a few laps and several times around the track depending on which corner you watched. Lap-9: Traffic, Neitzel is cruising as Kelsey ducks to the infield. Lap-12: Hafemann finally asserts himself and takes command of 3rd out of turn 2 as Biertzer follows suit through turns 3-4.

Duel at the Dam III A Feature (30 Laps)
1. Travis Whitney [5] $2,000; 2. Mike Reinke [3]; 3. Billy Balog [11]; 4. Brian Kristan [9]; 5. Steve Meyer [2]; 6. Scott Neitzel [12]; 7. John Haeni [1]; 8. Scott Uttech [10]; 9. Todd King [7]; 10. Scott Young [6]; 11. Scott Biertzer [18]; 12. Tommy Sexton [4]; 13. Billy Warren [15]; 14. Bill Hafemann [20]; 15. David O'Neil [22]; 16. Joe Symoens [17]; 17. Darrell Dodd [21]; DNF-18. Kurt Winker [8]; DNF-19. Donny Goeden [14]; DNF-20. Ryan Irwin [19]; DNF-21. Matt Wasmund [16]; DNF-22. Wayne Modjeski [13].
Lap leaders: Mike Reinke 1-28, Travis Whitney 29-30.

Meyer got the initial lead up until the field was realigned after the yellow is out for a tangle in turn 4 between Warren and Modjeski. Warren ducked into-and-out-of the work area to restart, Modjeski was done. Reinke takes the lead on the restart over Haeni, Meyer and Whitney. Meyer would take runner-up next time around as Wasmund calls it a night with driveline (?) issues around Lap-4. Lap-7: Traffic, Reinke leads Meyer, Haeni, Whitney, Young, King, Sexton, Balog, Kristan, Winker…Lap-12: Whitney takes 2nd on the frontstretch. Young spanked the wall if not 2 times losing positions. Lap-14: Yellow is out after Sexton spins in turns 1-2 and lost his solid Top-10 position. Under caution, Goeden would duck pit side with brake issues as Irwin also would duck into the pit with overheating/oil issues. O’Neal receives the Lucky Pass. Restart running order: Reinke, (Symoens) Whitney (Hafemann)(Warren) Meyer, Haeni, Young, King, Balog, Kristan, Neitzel and S. Uttech in 10th. On the restart, Hafemann would look good holding off Whitney for a few laps. Lap-17: Yellow is out after Winker spun in turn 4. Hafemann would receive this Lucky Pass, as the Top-4 will now restart nose-to-tail. Lap-19: Winker is done for the night after his 2nd spin and yellow in turns 1-2. Warren gets the Lucky Pass on this one. Lap-21: Haeni is into 3rd out of turn 4 as Balog hovers now around 4th-5th. Lap-23: Yellow is out after Symoens and Dodd tangle in turn 4-Symoens ducks into the work area and restarts, Dodd is done. The final laps wound down caution free as Whitney reeled in Reinke who appeared to have nearly lost the handle on the ride a lap-or-two before allows Whitney to close in and take the lead out of turn 4 as the white flag is hoisted.

Next IRA race is up in Seymour Speedway, WI tonight, September 2nd.

yeah, good job. sorry Nick, not going to Beaver Dam on monday. i am flattered by you're offer however. if you let me drive, i'll be there.

come to Seymour tonight. i'll buy you bros a beer.

cool finish to the A main. Whitney kept trying slide jobs on a few restarts. looked like Reinke was really feeling the heat. i think once Reinke smacked the back wall coming out of 2, he lost his rythym and Whitney stayed commited to getting some good bite coming off low out of turn 4 where he eventually cleared Reinke.

good time.

hopefully tonight will be good.
