Does anyone know the purse for the Hoosier Fall Classic this year. It's been moved again to a two-day show and was wondering if the second day is $10,000 to win like a few years back? Please post the payoff for both days, if available.....Hopefully it won't be a rip-off like the Coor's Nationals at Attica where the first day was only $3,000 to win.

A rip off? How is $3000 to win a rip off? It was still a great race.

Hoosier Fall Classic 2007

Night #1 - Friday Sept. 14th - $3000 to win

Night #2 - Saturday Sept. 15th - $10,000 to win

If you are not happy about lesser amounts paid on night #1 of two day events, then please let me know how we should go about paying more? Get it from the track promoter you say? Well, then we're back to a one day show. This is how it works people. Rising operational costs, the decline of the economy, and the sheer amount of alternate entertainment opportunities competing for everyone' hard earned dollars - we as a group either find a way to make it profitable for track promoters to put on two day shows to make it more worth while for drivers and fans, or we just go back to having one day shows at these venues. I'm just stating the facts here. Call that a rip off if you want, but by the All Stars making things less of a financial risk for promoters increases the amount of races. I have heard plenty of complaints about the lack of dates on the schedule. You can't have it both ways these days.

The Short Track Nationals coming up pay $100 to win the preliminary night features (plus a $2000 to start spot in the final on Sat. for the top three)

Heck with the attitude of the All Star officials to someone who justs asks a question I would recommend going to Fremont on that Saturday instead and run for $13k to win and $600 to start and piss on the All Stars.

Recommend Fremont? Was in the main restroom at the nationals, during the Sat. afternoon race, when the Aussie next to me said the track looked to be very Fremontish.

IMO the Fremont race should have NEVER been scheduled against the Lawrenceburg date in the first place. That in itself was a kick in the teeth not only to the All Star Organization but the All Star drivers and fans too. Most all of the drivers and a lot of the same fans would have supported both races had they been on different weekends. Splitting things up is not good for our sport in general.

In Swamp's defense, it seems that everyone has a bone to pick with the All Stars and it gets old after awhile. Give him a break ... he just explained it from the business-side of the fence. And he's very right ... if the track/promoter doesn't make any money on an All Star race, that is one less track the All Stars can count on for future shows. Then the griping starts about the lack of races on the schedule. Heck, there were complaints when the Hoosier Fall Classic was a 1 day race, now there are complaints when it goes back to a 2 day race. At least it's a 2-day All Star race -- there was a time when the first night wasn't sanctioned and with a lower payout yet. Needless to say, the drivers were the one's complaining then! I don't think anybody (drivers or fans) likes to travel any distance for a one-night show.

It's a tough economy these days ... the $$$ just don't flow like they once did a few years back.

The Ford's are going out with a bang for the last 3 races as they are getting out of promoting that speedway. Has anyone stepped up to the plate or is Fremont done.

I heard that Rich Farmer (Who owns the #29 410 sprinter currently driven by Bryan Sebetto) and or Andy James (who owns Mike Linders #3 ride & the new Waynesfield Motorsports Track) are going to take it over, but haven't seen anything official yet.

As far as the scheduling goes, I dunno, I attend Fremont almost every week and the crowds have been great all year with the lone 410 sanctioned show being the speedweek show. I think it was a busineess move to not schedule the allstars as much as usual. (In recent years the Allstars run 3 to 5 times a year there.) Most of the allstars have been at fremont for the weekly shows this year when the allstars were off. Plus Ford had 2 shows that paid $5K to win and one that is now at $15K to win.

I was dissappointed when the schedule came out for this season and the allstars only had the speedweek date on fremonts schedule, but now that theres only 3 races left in the season (2 for the 410's) I must say that the weekly shows have been great as usual and the lack of the additional allstar dates almost went un-noticed.

It's unfortunate that the Fall Classic and the $15,000 to win $600 to start fremont race are scheduled head to head, but in my opinion its more unfortunate for the racers and raceteams than for the fans. If the races were on different dates, you'd probly have about 5 of the fremont regulars that would travel to the Burg. And likewise about 6 to 8 allstar runners at fremont. What will be interesting is to see what guys that aren't chasing allstar points, like Dale Blaney and Rob Chaney will do. I'd bet on Blaney being at Fremont, hell he's owned the place almost everytime he's hit the track there this year. Maybe even K. Kinser climbs back in for one more run. He won the one $5K to win show this year.

Both shows should be great. Hope for great weather and lets go racing.

Stagger - I was simply stating the facts...and I DO take offense to our show being called a "rip off" by someone who probably doesn't understand the financial side of what we have to work with. Don't you think if we COULD pay more as a series to make it more attractive to more drivers to entice them to travel with us we WOULD? Of course we would. However, putting together scheduling gets harder every year for the very reasons I mentioned above. That is fact and by reducing the purse on our two day shows, it adds dates to the schedule and makes it more worthwhile for fans and drivers to travel to those events. Calling it a rip off is just another jab at our series. The real rip off would be traveling to some of these places for a one day show instead. Am I right?

As far as the "big race" at Fremont, second place on back is pretty similar to our All Star payout and we're paying $10,000 to win on Saturday night. We're also working on a bonus to win both nights and that will be announced soon if we can work it our with the promoter. The All Stars wish Jim Ford the best in his retirement and hope his big farewell race is a success. Then he can retire knowing he stuck it to the All Stars one last time.

That was a pretty unprofessional response from a spokesman for a series. I would say a race paying $13-15 thousand to win is a big race, no quotations needed. I respect the current group of All Stars as a bunch of good racers, but you'd have to be blind to consider it up to the level of just a few years ago.
