I'm the grandson of Herman H. Braim Jr. and I wanted to let folks know that he passed away on Tuesday the 5th. He was a great business man and a loving husband,father,and grandfather.

 

 

 

Herman H. Braim Jr.

Herman H. Braim Jr., 67, of Warrior Run Boulevard, Turbotville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at his home following an illness of the past 20 months.

Born Feb. 6, 1939 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Herman H. and Maxine M. (Bartlett) Braim.

He was married to the former Shirley R. Fogelman on Sept. 22, 1962 and they have celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Herm owned and operated Herman H. Braim Jr. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from 1971 until retiring in 2000. Earlier in his life, he had been employed at the former Myco Company in Montgomery, Sid Greenberg’s in Williamsport and then worked nearly 10 years at Glen Gery Brick Co., Watsontown.

He had played in various country bands for 40 years and during the 1990’s he helped promote the Selinsgrove and Clinton County racetracks. An avid fisherman, he and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Leesburg, Fla. for the past 10 years where he loved spending time on his pontoon boat.

He was a social member of the Hughesville American Legion, the Muncy VFW and the Milton Loyal Order of the Moose.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Marty R. and Joylene Braim of Montgomery, LaRue H. Fenstermaker, Muncy, and Jeffrey L. and Kathleen Braim, Turbotville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Ann and Jerry Yeagle of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren, Crystal O’Clair and her husband Tom, Karen Braim and her fiance Jason Phillips, Tabatha and Cory Fenstermaker, Jayson, Jesse, and John Braim, Brad Yeagle and his wife Candice, and Nate and Wesley Yeagle; five great-grandchildren, Desiree Dyer, Liz O’Clair, Travis Suydam, Heaven Lei and Landon Allen Yeagle; and three sisters, Rosalie (Leon Clayton) Warner of Muncy, Judy J. (Earl ‘‘Jr.’’) Wertman, Allenwood, and Viola (Steve Reich) Zimmerman of Watsontown RD; his mother-in-law, M. Marvene Fogelman of Watsontown; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, and his beloved pup, Molly.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a sister, Darlene Braim who died in infancy.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paradise Street, Turbotville, with the Rev. Erwin C. Roux officiating, assisted by the Rev. Carl E. Fox. Burial will follow in St. John’s ‘‘Delaware Run’’ Lutheran Cemetery, Watsontown.

Friends are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday and at the church on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in his memory be made to either Geisinger Hospice, 100 North Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822 or Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box 277, Turbotville, PA 17772.
