September 1st and 2nd Labor Day Weekend

The United Rebel Sprint Series in conjunction with MBM Motorsports will celebrate the end of summer with a Labor Day double-header weekend at Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton, KS. This will be a great opportunity to see the Best of two periods of History from the Past to the Present.

The URSS 305 Winged Sprint Cars will be the featured class both nights along with the Vintage Racers from the Kansas Antique Racers, Colorado Vintage Oval Racers, and Big Car Racing Association. The action on the historic half-mile of Elmwood Park Speedway has always been fast and furious with the Rebels, and this race weekend will be no exception. Current URSS Points Leader Smokey Fairbank, Norton's Randy Bantam second in points, Jon Johnson, last years winner Justin Schwien, Mark Bantam along with the rest of the best 305 Sprint Car drivers from the region will hit the track to battle for the wins.

The Vintage Cars will showcase the best of the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's era racecars as they were raced at County Fairs on countless weekends across the USA. Many of the cars that will be on the track during this two-day race weekend were built by area racers and campaigned at tracks throughout the region in their hey days. Sunday the Vintage Racers will have a static display and vendor exhibits at the Park in the morning with a Noon Meal for the Racers and Exhibitors. The Vintage cars will hit the track for exhibition runs that afternoon with the Rebels to resume racing at 7:00 along with more vintage exhibitions.

Pit Gates open at 4:00 pm with Racing action starting at 7:00 each day. Admission is $10 for Adults, $5.00 for children six to eleven and children five and under always free.

There will be static displays outside the track in park in the mornings and track time in the afternoon for the vintage cars only. There will be dinner served a 12:00 noon as long as the food last. There will be a fee for the dinner and an admission fee for the afternoon track time.

For more information on the Vintage Racers you can call: Don McMullen 785-877-3299, Jerry Bantam 785-877-5353 or Randy Bantam 785-877-6905.
