DAMION GARDNER READIES FOR ANOTHER SHOT AT 200+MPH BONNEVILLE SPRINT CAR RUN!
(Concord, CA, July 16, 2014) Two-time USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series champion Damion Gardner of Concord, California will return to Utah’s famous Bonneville Salt Flats next month in his quest to become the first driver to eclipse the 200-MPH barrier in a sprint car.
Gardner and his team’s first attempt to conquer Bonneville came last August. Two times he reached speeds in excess of his targeted 200-MPH, but both times he went into a flat spin. When all was said and done, his top official speed was 194.27 in the Damion Gardner & Steve Watt co-owned “Green Demon.” That is faster than any sprint car has ever been driven. However, the determined driver is not satisfied. He wanted to break the magical 200-MPH barrier. When that did not happen, it made him more determined than ever to scratch the last 5.73-MPH out of the salt surface this year.
The efforts of Gardner, not only at Bonneville, but also in the tough world of 410 championship sprint car racing, are being recorded for an exciting documentary titled, “The World’s Fastest Sprint Car.” The made for TV production is being written, directed and produced by Surf N’ Sprint and will be shot by the award winning racing specialists from LoudPedal Productions. The team will be in Bonneville for the 2014 effort from August 6th through the 14th and the record attempts will be on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th. It will be surrounded by well-known photographers and journalists in Bonneville. The “Green Demon” team will also have a V.I.P. Fan Area in the pits. Gardner and his team encourage all of his racing followers to come out and be a part of history. Fans will be able to get up close and watch the team work on the car. The team will also supply shade, tables & chairs and a grandstand to watch the superstar driver speed across the Utah landscape.
